I had a bit of a challenge when I looked about and only saw HUGE bags of seed - I have one feeder in my condo, and I don't want the seed going rancid like the last bag! The lovely lady at the counter was VERY helpful getting me a seed mix in a not giant bag that meets the needs of my neighbourhood birds. However, I do recommend mentioning the kind of feeder you have when you are getting seed - I'll need to either modify mine, or get a different one as the larger peanuts get stuck in the holes - oops my bad. While paying for my bag of seed, I noticed on their video tv a video of birds feeding at an interesting hanging pole with variety of seed discs - what a GREAT idea! I can feed different kinds of birds and offer more than one kind of seed! Had to take one of those too! There are ALL different kinds of discs - I picked up a suet/peanut butter disc, a mealworms and seeds disc (mmm yummy protein!), and a seedy selection disc along with a new hanger. However, I did notice that the sparrows aren't really great at getting food from a vertical hanger with no perch - I should probably consider adding a horizontal feeder, which I saw on the wall next to the shelves of discs. Reasonably priced, and less mess than loose seed too! There's also a selection of shaped hanging seed "bell" types - the racoon is hilarious! A great selection of gift items, flags, feeders, and a customizable pole system for your yard can make anyone happy! Between the live owl events in store, bird watching etc, this shop has a lot to offer. Sign up for the mailing list, and if you feel so inclined, buy an annual club membership! For just $25, you get discounts in the store, and special deals & offers! Next, a heated water dish for the little guys. Pretty sure they'll have that too.

I've got to admit I was a tad bit jelly wishing kitties had adorable baked treats but I understand the diets are entirely different. The layout of the store was easy to navigate with kitties in the back - saw what? Nobody puts kitty in a corner - just kidding! I highly recommend the CatIt line of toys she ball tracks - they build together and are always a winner with my kitty klan! They had a great selection of Oilers jerseys and bandanas for fury friends and collars and tags galore! There's a clearance section in the back left corner of the store just past the public washrooms. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program - first Tuesday of the month is 10% off regularly priced items. As part of their great customer service quest, they give you a second receipt to drop in a box on the wall on your way out ranking the service you received on that visit!

I believe they also do grooming in the back, but I haven't used them yet. Price and selection of foods seems to be better. This is another service I don't need as much, but it's nice to find the furchildren nice little goodies like Turducken wet food. What I appreciate them most about this place is the quality and price of their merchandise. I noticed the price of their cat trees have gone up, but they are still far superior to Pet Smart. Pet smart 'stack' their levels, where as the ones you buy here are 'staggered'. They sell buckle and better breakaway collars for less, with no stupid bells on them. Oh--and check out their awesome selection of all natural dog-treats!

If you go to their website they say they have food for lots of animals: cats, reptiles, dogs, birds, fish, small animals and rodents... but when you actually go I would say that they mostly have food for cats, dogs, and birds. For birds all I noticed was Armstrong and Sunseed, nothing else in store. I'm just super hung up on the name right now because I don't think a place should be called "Global" if it only caters to the common animals. No rats or worms! This place is not reptile friendly at all. I was kind of miffed because I live down the street so it would have been cool if it was. The staff seemed really confused when I asked about the reptile section... they said they don't really carry that stuff. This is when I got hung up on the name. I also just don't find their prices to be competitive at all. If anything it is on the expensive side. Greenies, for example, are almost $2 more expensive here than they are at Petland. This is why I don't really find this place to be anything special. They do have a bomb selection of animal clothing though. So I bought a winter jacket for my naked cat. Now he can be warm!

They have some unique gifts and the mug turned out to be PERFECT for his microwave noodle soups. Yesterday I noticed that self-serve dog wash is now by appointment only. Sensible so they can control the people and cleaning needed. I also picked up an absolutely gorgeously decorated doggie Hanukkah/Chanuka cookie for a friend's pup! Paws up! We like this shop.

When I asked about this, she became very belligerent and confrontational, claiming that because she rents space she owns the promenade, and is entitled to have her dog roam about.
