I prefer this store to Pet Smart on so many levels…read more Their service is better. Staff is helpful and friendly, and they'll engrave your pet tags for you. I believe they also do grooming in the back, but I haven't used them yet. Price and selection of foods seems to be better. This is another service I don't need as much, but it's nice to find the furchildren nice little goodies like Turducken wet food. What I appreciate them most about this place is the quality and price of their merchandise. I noticed the price of their cat trees have gone up, but they are still far superior to Pet Smart. Pet smart 'stack' their levels, where as the ones you buy here are 'staggered'. They sell buckle and better breakaway collars for less, with no stupid bells on them. Oh--and check out their awesome selection of all natural dog-treats!

Border collies are only suppose to live 12 years but my Dexter is still going. I believe it is from the food. I found it way better than production line quick stuff to only expand in the belly and is full of dyes. Dexter's coat is very shiny and he still has lots of energy. I would recommend this store to anyone, matter fact I have. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and the price is awesome. I get a large bag for $70.00+ but it lasts him 5 or 6 months so it works out to only $13.50 a month. You really can't beat that. Dexter's food is always down for him, I do not feed him on a schedule. He is perfectly healthy and like I said its because of the food. You will be happy you went to this establishment.

as a small business owner myself I try and support local, well I purchased a pair or nail clippers,…read morewhich were never used because my hand was way to small to put pressure to close the large nail clippers. two days later I tried returning them, the answer was a straight no. and I was told by the owner/manager that the girl went to ask that he said 'it's common sence, I wouldn't buy a toothbrush and try and return that' And refused to even offer a different solution for me. Just a no! not only was I treated rudely but am now stuck with these never used clippers. I will no longer be bringing my business there. Sorry to see a local owner act this way. -Not Impressed-

Load up a bunch, head to the till and it doesn't ring up on sale. Cashier calls a floor manager to check the shelf, who then checks with the store manager and apparently this was a Black Friday promo that had expired. Even with their mistake of the signage being left up they wouldn't honour the discount out of goodwill. Not even a few pieces. According to the floor manager they don't take part in the Code of Conduct, whatever that means. However if the company can afford to put it on sale for a price, they can afford to honour the sale when the employees haven't removed the signage a few days after the expiration. Incredibly disappointed with the service and likely won't be back.

Staff here for the Reptiles and Fish section are great. I want to say though that if you're looking…read morefor rats they are almost $20 more expensive here than they are at Mr. Pets in St. AB. They also don't come individually wrapped - they wrap them in paper towel and put them in a bag for you. This means they might get freezer burn or stuck together if you don't use them fast enough. So my suggestion is to only buy like 4 at a time instead of stocking up. I honestly think I will keep coming here for worms, but I'll stick to buying my rats elsewhere just for the price alone. You gotta come on Tues/Thurs to get the new worms! If you come on a Monday the selection isn't good and you might be buying 50 but then find that half are dead. So definitely try and come in for the fresh shipment. Sometimes I bring my babygirl Smaug (Bearded Dragon) here and the staff is so nice to here. Instead of gently picking him up to examine, she quickly snatched him out of the enclosure, hitting his head on a branch while doing so. She then dropped him onto the concrete as she was standing up. Quickly scooped him up again and then Dropped him into a 10 gallon tank with slightly larger, alert beardies. I asked her when she came back out what would be done for this little guy. "We will give him some calcium and uvb light" Sorry but after managing pet departments, I know this little guy was beyond just a little calcium. At the very least he should have a vet visit and likely some fluids and be force fed until he gets his strength back. Fail, petpros, huge fail. The only reason I made a purchase that day was because I NEEDED gecko food that other stores do not sell. I will now purchase said food online or at the reptile shows before I run out.
