This is a great breakfast spot if you are staying on the beach in Newport!! Everyone was super nice in person and we called ahead for an order and they had no problem making it. The buffalo chicken panini is one of the best I've ever had!

CTA Bagel

A great local spot for a light breakfast on the cafe patio. The staff and guest are always so friendly. I got the CTA bagel and I absolutely loved the lemon pepper seasoning on it, it gave it such a fresh punch and the bagel had fresh ingredients and yummy. My husband enjoyed one of their bagel sandwiches. Their lattes are ok, nothing out of this world but decent.

Great little gem on the Balboa Peninsula!! Food was great, came out in a timely manner, and the staff members were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meal on their nice little patio to soak in the gorgeous SoCal weather!! We will definitely be back

First off, I want to start by saying that My Galley Cafe has an ARRAY of menu items to choose from and that I would definitely come back to try the breakfast items, avocado toasts, or paninis if I'm in the Newport Beach Area. Note. My review is SOLELY based on the Peach Berry smoothie. I ordered this based on another Yelper's positive review, but I honestly think it was overhyped. The apple juice in the Peach Berry was much too strong and the smoothie tasted mainly like an icy apple juice with a small hint of peach - it just did not taste like what I expected. My friend also ordered the Pink Tide and her smoothie tasted like strong apple juice as well. I also tried my friend's Acai Smoothie and that one had a better taste than the other two smoothies. The cafe is clean and the staff members are really nice so I do believe their other menu items are delicious and I'd love to try them someday. Just wish I had a better experience with the smoothies!

Jalapeño cheddar Bagel

went on Saturday morning to this cute little corner coffee shop! We got a jalapeño cheddar bagel with cheese, a breakfast burrito and 2 lattes for about $30. I ordered a hot white chocolate latte and it was wayyy too sweet and I'm a sweet coffee girlie :( but my bagel was very yummy! Also the breakfast burrito was good! They have a decent list of Sammie's too if you want something more filling! there's a ton of street parking in the area but it it's a little busy so you might have to walk a bit. Also the restroom is around the corner you need a quarter to get in or you can ask the super sweet staff for a coin for it!

Bagel with "extra cream cheese", barely any lol

Waste of money and time. Ordered 3 drinks and each one was worse than the next. The coffee beans or whatever they use is so bitter. Tried to doctor it up with creamer and milk and it did t help. I also ordered my bagels with extra cream cheese because I saw the people in front of me get theirs and barely had any. Even paying the extra fee for extra cream cheese there was barely any at all We also came here for lunch yesterday and ordered chicken salad sandwiches. They were so small and basically just bread with a small spread of checkin salad. We had to scrape all of it onto one half just to make an actual sandwich. It's convenient location, but I'll definitely NOT be coming back here. It's a bummer because it could be such a nice little place to come when you're staying on the peninsula but two horrible experiences will keep me from ever coming back. Solid menu, the smoothie was good. Cappuccino was fine. Grilled cheese was slightly under done and somehow lacked flavor.

Holy MOLY!! I'm so happy to get a sandwich from here, because the pizza around the corner was not…read morefor me. First of all, the SHAKA SPUDS is like crack because not me buying one bag first and coming right back in for two more for the road. Ya'll this place is worth the drive (I'm coming from end the end of Orange County, near Camp Pendleton) the sandwich was perfect, hit the spot on what I was craving for and it SLAPS! I got the Greatfella Sandwich without the agrula and sauce on the side (I don't like my sandwich to be soggy) originally I ordered to go but the moment I open the bag and got a whift of that sandwich, I had to find a table to eat. With the addiciting SPUDS and this sandwich, I was in heaven and the combination of flavors *chef kisses* The Greatfella was so damn good, I ended up finished the whole sandwich in one seating and a whole bag of the spuds that I came back inside to order two more for the road and now it's on my list to come back when I'm in the area. The spuds were so crispy and fresh, and the perfect amount of thickness of a chip for their secret sauce (the star of it) and as I'm typing this review out, I'm eating the other bag and wishing I got more it. Will be coming back and getting a whole big of it, heck I'll bring my gallon ziploc. The services was amazing, I have to find my receipt to get the name of the lady who was working the front register, she was super duper awesome on taking my order. Thank you so much for recommending the spuds with my sandwich.

I would order the OG breakfast sandwich again. My partner had the gringo burrito which she could not finish so I had to finish it for her. This place always seems busy and service is great. Parking lot is small with the post office and a handful of other businesses all sharing the same few spaces. So be prepared to circle the lot or park on the street and walk when you visit. I ordered a 9 inch ham with provolone, had lettuce, tomato, sprouts, mustard and mayo on the fresh baguette. Solid sandwich it had enough meat and cheese to satisfy me which was a little surprising. The baguette was light and tasty, the veggies were fresh and crisp. Overall the sandwich was a solid 9 out of 10, and I am something of a sandwich snob. Tables and chairs outside in the area between the buildings were convenient seating to eat our sandwiches. I'm very impressed and will definitely return the next time I am in the area and looking for a sandwich.

Service was fast & friendly throughout the visit. I ordered the chicken curry salad & was a little underwhelmed. The flavor itself was good, but it could have used more dressing and definitely more chicken. The Thai tea was really tasty though. Overall, still interested in coming back to try the sandwiches and baked goods since those looked especially promising.

If you're on vacation near the beach and wake up hungry, do yourself a favor and head over to…read moreTidePoole's. This little spot sits right across from the ocean and operates on the kind of hours that make sense for vacationers, open at 8 a.m. and closing at 3 p.m. Perfect timing for a slow morning and a serious breakfast. While scanning the menu, one item kept jumping out at me: the Wakey Wakey Breakfast Burrito. It clearly had a reputation. The only hesitation? The price. At $17 for a single burrito, expectations get pretty high. At that price point, the burrito can't just be good, it has to show up and perform like an Allstar. Luckily, this burrito absolutely delivered! I ordered for a family of six, which turned out to be a strategic move because it allowed me to sample a few different versions. First up was the bacon breakfast burrito, which was fantastic: flavorful, hearty, and easily a solid four star burrito on its own. Then I tried the sausage version... and BAM! Somehow it was even better. At that point, I thought I had already reached the peak of breakfast burrito greatness. Five star territory achieved. Case closed. Or so I thought. Then came the chorizo breakfast burrito and let me tell you. This thing was on another level entirely. If the bacon was great and the sausage was excellent, the chorizo was a slice of breakfast heaven wrapped in a tortilla. It completely stole the show. And that's not a knock on the others, they were legitimately great but the chorizo version was just that much better. Another bonus: these burritos are huge. Realistically, one burrito could easily feed two people unless you're particularly ambitious or exceptionally hungry after a sunrise beach walk. The salsa served with the burritos was also excellent and paired perfectly with everything. If you're feeling adventurous, you can ask for additional sauces as well to customize the experience. So yes, $17 for a burrito might initially make you pause, but in this case the gamble paid off especially if you go with the chorizo. Between the portion size, the flavor, and the beachside setting, it ends up feeling like money well spent. Bottom line: If you find yourself near the beach in the morning and want a breakfast that lives up to the hype, TidePoole's Wakey Wakey Breakfast Burrito is absolutely worth the stop. Just one warning: You may walk in thinking you'll share a burrito... and walk out wishing you had ordered another.

After I ordered a $20 bowl, I asked to use the outlet for my e scooter while I ate. The worker was grumpy and said yes, but then said no. If he said yes, I would have most likely been a weekly repeat customer. I guess I have to spend at starbucks instead because they allow charging. Such a bummer because I want to support a local business. The employee made it seem like it would be coming out of HIS check is it??? Update - no thanks I dont really want to come back. I dont understand how I was bothering other customers when literally one other person was inside. The environment isnt welcoming and its weird that you would be selective over how people use your "complimentary" charging.
