Wow!!! This place was amazing!!! And the GF options were so welcoming. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito with the spuds and my wife got the breakfast fries and they were also amazing. Both were so flavorful and it was the right amount of food. The service was also top notch. I wish I had gotten their name but our waitress has green hair and she rocked it. She worked her behind off and absolutely rocked it. The entire team did an amazing job. We will be going back.

Just average. Casual restaurant near the water with parking lots close by within walking distance. Lots of outdoor seating. Lattes were the best part of the meal and so many different choices. The food was meh. I got the breakfast sandwich brioche bread wasn't that soft and egg was lacking seasoning, bacon was not crispy. The morning fries were soggy. Service was quick and friendly which helped the meal become an average one.

Plenty of seating space at 8am on a Friday morning, quick to be seated. Decent small menu. Plates were loaded, well worth the price of each.

The BEST lattes near the beach!!! This was our family vacations go to spot for morning coffee and it was EXCELLENT! The staff was so friendly and right when they opened us they greeted us and were ready for our big order! I loved my garden rose latte and my family enjoyed the lavender latte as well! They were so accommodating with our order and had delicious flavors! My husband liked his turmeric latte and the almond croissant was delicious as well as the chocolate! If you need delicious coffee for your beach walks this is your go to!!!

Had a great time here with my partner to celebrate my birthday! This is a great breakfast place to go to before you hop on the boat to Catalina or whale watching! We ate here because of the great reviews, the reasonable price, and how it was a two minute walk from our boat. The food selections and drinks were great. A great variety of things to eat and drink. We both got the same order, but my partner just got fries instead. Service was great and our server was very friendly! We went on a weekday and it was great, not too many people but still the place was almost full! I definitely would come back to this spot for breakfast food if i'm ever back in Newport!

Been coming here for a while and the food is always amazing, service is fast and friendly and of course it's in a great location with a chill vibe.

I still ordered and politely waited for my coffee.

Marcella, green haired monster, did not say good morning to me when I said it and instead, with her back turned to me says, would I like inside or outside seating. Feeling bad that she can't speak to me directly, but with her back to me, I said I want to order coffee. As I waited, I let Marcella know that her "greeting" was a bit rude, and I guess she didn't like that. As I left, I was still earshot of her yelling to her barista, "what the fuck was that?" I came back in and asked for the manager, and find out she's it. Wow. She won't go far, that's for sure. And that was my first coffee experience here. Don't go if you're new to the neighborhood. Not welcoming one bit! Learn to be kinder to new guests. Marcella may benefit from some re-training because she's not a good representative of your establishment for newcomers. Ijs

Good food and drink options! We came here after a whale watching boat ride. They were short staffed but the servers did a great job. Would definitely recommend. The drink menu was nice, lots of options and our coffees came out looking and tasting great. The crispy broccoli is definitely worth trying!

Balboa Lily's is such a pleasant place -- warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and consistently great service. It's a spot that has truly stood the test of time, and every visit feels welcoming. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and service. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, and you can tell they care about their guests. Definitely one of my favorite local spots for a relaxed and delicious meal.

Cute lil spot!!! Stopped in for lunch and had a breakfast burrito with fries and a peanut butter latte! So so good! The latte was one of the best I've ever had! The breakfast burrito had so much flavor and was delish! If you are in the area check this place out! The service was really good too!

Food: so delicious. Felt very healthy after the meal, no guilty feeling. Service: casual, and friendly. Ambiance is very casual. You can come in pajamas, no judgement zone! Price is very reasonable. Must try: the cinnamon rose chai.

Balboa lily was solid. Service was pretty good overall, and I really appreciated the small touch of them bringing out a water bowl for my dog--definitely pet-friendly, which is a plus. Only downside was the wait. It took about 10 minutes to get our coffee and have the table cleaned, even though no one was sitting there before us. The coffee itself? I'd give it a 4 out of 5--good, but not mind-blowing. Parking's a bit tricky, but there's a paid lot across the street that makes it manageable. The location is prime, and the vibe is worth checking out. Definitely a spot to give a shot.

If I'm in Newport in the morning I'm only ever gonna want to go to Lily's because the breakfast is simple and so good. The crispy broccoli is phenomenal. I get it every single time. Not pictured: the iced garden on the rocks latte is very good! If you like your coffee not super sweet, I'd recommend asking for it half sweet. The vibes are so nice too, I love the outdoor seating.

It's influenced by the San Cabos area of Mexico. So, it's what we're familiar with, only with a lovely twist. I ordered the chicken enchiladas Suiza, and my son got the taco trio. It was some of the BEST Mexican food we'd ever had. Another plus is that it's not on Balboa Island's main drag. So, parking and traffic aren't as much of a hassle. It's also very close to the water. The atmosphere is pleasant, and so is the staff. We couldn't have had a nicer experience. I highly recommend it.

Nice looking spot with plenty of outdoor seating. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. So why just 3 stars? The food was just eh. If I had more hours in California I would have made up for the lackluster food by making a trip to HB's Tacos Los Cholos. I had the recommended Enchiladas Suizas. When my plate came out I knew immediately it would be just ok. The enchiladas didn't even look saucy. The refried beans looked (and tasted) like canned beans. The rice was very boring. The tinga chicken, somehow, was dry. My wife had the tostada salad. It was like $26 because of the $10 add on of steak. $26 for the most gringo thing on the menu. Best part of it was the steak, the rest will be repressed from my memory. A friend had the taco trio. $19 for 3 tacos and no sides. That's pretty steep. He didn't even finish the 3 tacos. He had the short rib, al pastor and carnitas. None of them looked very good. I had a pinch of his short rib meat. It tasted like grandma's Sunday pot roast. And just like the tinga chicken it was also dry. My wife's strawberry marg was quite good. The beer menu was very basic. Gotta step it up. When the free chips and salsa, and add on steak are the highlights of the dinner you know that the place needs help.
