Chocolate chip muffin and croissant

I really want to like this place because my last name is Rose and that's pretty cool, but the pastries here are just not good.I have had a decent apple fritter here once though. I'll give it another shot and try something other than bakery items someday. With all that said, and I can't believe this is a redeeming about, I did only pay $8 for these and somehow that feels like a deal.

Admittedly, it was the CDM Christmas Walk, so things were a little crazy, but I wasn't too impressed with this spot. I know it gets a lot of hype on Yelp, but for me it landed squarely in the average category. The location on PCH is definitely cool, and the outdoor patio is a nice touch, but the food just didn't wow me. Service was on the slower side, and they were already out of the cilantro dressing at 1:00 PM, which felt a bit early to be out of anything. Overall, fine for a quick stop if you're already in the area, but not a place I'd rush back to.

After a morning workout on the beach--because nothing says holiday spirit like burning calories before eating--we landed at my boyfriend's favorite breakfast spot. We walked in and spotted an open table outside, perfect in this beautiful So Cal weather ... we trully are spoiled. While I secured our seats, he ventured in to place our order. It's a popular spot but not very big, a cafe, so be prepared to wait or opt for take out. Today we got lucky and alfresco we brunched. While we waited for our order, we were treated to the fresh juices as our choice for breakfast beverages which were in full holiday attire: The orange juice was solid--bright, refreshing, like sunshine in December. The raspberry lemonade was bursting with actual berries, like they literally emptied a bag of holiday jewels into it. Our order of matching vegetarian breakfast burritos arrive, and let's just say Santa himself would swap cookies for one of these. Warm, hearty, perfectly wrapped like a gourmet present. Eggs, veggies, and that just-right seasoning... the kind of breakfast burrito that makes you feel like you've made good life choices ... about breakfast anyway. Perfect stop after breaking a sweat ... unfortunately we had a packed day so won't be enjoying this years Christmas Walk but drove by and saw all the preparations for those who will be strolling the prettiest beach town around. Rose Bakery Cafe was festive, delicious, and remains on our "nice list." Although, just becasue it's nice, doesn't mean there isn't depth in the options . . . next time will try some of the more "naughtier" treats, the bakery smelled heavenly.

Literally my favorite place on the planet. I made sure I go here every single time I'm home in Newport. The California burrito has my whole entire heart This place is what I describe as a must go when you're in town. Try a smoothie, you won't regret it.

Ugh I need an intervention. I still think they have one of the best breakfast burritos in town if not in the OC. I love that I can pre-order and just go up to the walk up Window and get my order which is promptly made. Today on a Wednesday around 10:30 it wasn't too busy. There is some parking out front but it's a tricky little parking lot to get in and out of. Your best parking on the street. Friendly service cool outdoor vibes with some indoor seating as well. Dogs welcome. I just think the burrito taste phenomenal. They really do pack it in with the egg cheese and bacon, which is nice and crispy. And the hash brown is delicious. The real star of the show is the salsa.

We stopped by Rose Bakery in Corona del Mar on Labor Day. It was definitely busy, the line was long, but we were lucky enough to grab a table right away. After ordering, there was a bit of a wait (totally expected given the holiday crowd). We tried the burrito, but honestly, it didn't wow us. It lacked flavor and I probably wouldn't order it again. On the other hand, the Meat Lover's Skillet was really good! hearty, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. Overall, I'd say Roses is good, but not amazing. It wouldn't be my first choice for a burrito in the area, but I'd come back to try more of their breakfast options. Worth a visit if you're nearby, just don't expect to be blown away.

A cafe right on PCH. It's in a great location with scenic outdoor dining, nice breakfast/lunch options, a small parking lot (essential in this location), and nice coffee according to my friend! I ordered the breakfast burrito and was very happy with it. It wasn't as stuffed as my usual breakfast locations, but the bacon was crispy, and the flour tortilla had a nice crunch where they toasted it! The complimentary water was also cold and fresh, something I really appreciate on a hot day.

A must go when in town. California burrito is delicious (I get it with no spinach), coffee is good and smoothies are great as well. Seating inside is small but they have a large patio area. Service is fast as well.

Eggs Benedict

This place was cute and due the crowd we thought the food would be amazing. My eggs Benedict was way over cooked and had a hard boiled egg consistency , my ham and English muffin were under cooked. It was very disappointing. The line was long and it took a while to get our food so I didn't have time to ask for them to make it again due to time constraints.

This is such a cute cafe! Too bad about the parking situation. Mostly street parking and had to park a few blocks away and walk here. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating can feel a but cramped though depending on how busy it is. My friend and I opted to dine in. We were given a number to put on our table and the servers would bring the food to us. I ordered the Rose Benedict with the peach smoothie. Both were delicious!! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Too bad about the parking situation or else I would come more often!

Plastic

Found a large piece of plastic in the middle of my wife's sandwich. Seriously unacceptable. Thankfully she noticed it before taking a bite, but that could've gone very differently. This kind of quality control issue shouldn't happen.

I was visiting family in Newport Coast area and they recommended this spot for breakfast/brunch. Parking can be a little tricky if they are busy because its located on the corner. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. They have a small inside seating section, but a bigger patio with heaters. It was pretty busy table wise, but we found one on the patio. They move pretty quickly. We got a lot of items- raspberry smoothie, california breakfast burrito, crossiant country sandwich, cronut, chocolate old fashioned donut, fruit cup, and country breakfast burrito. Everything was great, but my favs were the crossiant country sandwich and donuts. The burritos were good but I liked the crossiant sandwiches just a little better. The donuts were so fresh and flavorful. The cronut reminded me of a layered fresh krispy kreme. (Not pictured) The fresh cut fruit and smoothie were also really refreshing. I would absolutely come back here. Overall experience 4.5/5

Awesome donuts. Everything was fresh, service was quick and friendly. Lots of variety in donut flavors and not a single one disappointed. Great stop to start your day.

Even during peak brunch hours, the atmosphere stays lively rather than chaotic, which already puts it ahead of many popular spots in the area. We went straight for the Rib Eye Melt and the Steak & Eggs, and both were standout choices. The Rib Eye Melt was the star: tender, flavorful steak layered with perfectly melted cheese on crisp, buttery bread that balanced richness with texture. Every bite felt indulgent but well executed. The Steak & Eggs delivered exactly what you want from a classic done right -- a well-seasoned steak with a beautiful sear, cooked perfectly and paired with eggs that tied the plate together into a satisfying, no-frills brunch win. Service stayed attentive and efficient despite the crowd, and dishes came out paced perfectly. Great Maple understands elevated comfort food and executes it consistently well. The strawberry donuts were a great finish, amazing texture unlike any donut, almost a cross between a donut and bagel but better than both. So why the 3? From the moment we sat down the service was off. The server didn't bother to ask our side of the table what we wanted to drink, nor did he give us a menu til I asked. And when I asked for a water he responded, "You want another water?" I wasn't even given a water to begin with.

If you happen to be at Fashion Island and are looking for a hearty vegan breakfast option, Scratch…read moreKitchen offers a surprisingly solid vegan burrito, though you'll need to make a few modifications since the burrito isn't actually vegan as ordered. The vegan burrito includes hash browns, onions, spinach, and vegan breakfast sausage, creating a filling breakfast that manages to satisfy without feeling overly heavy. The verde salsa ties everything together nicely, adding brightness and moisture that helps fuse the ingredients into a cohesive burrito with all the key elements you'd want in a good breakfast wrap. What really would've taken the burrito to the next level is the addition of a vegan egg option like Just Egg. That extra layer would've made the burrito exceptional rather than simply very good. Still, even without it, the burrito was flavorful, hearty, and satisfying enough that I'd order it again. One thoughtful touch is that the burrito is served cut in half, which works well if you're dining in. However, if you plan to customize it further or add your own ingredients, it's probably best to request that it not be cut in half beforehand.

And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.
