Met my boat partner at C'est si bon for lunch and a quick meeting. Honestly I have driven past for decades but never actually entered the shop. Parking lot is small with the post office and a handful of other businesses all sharing the same few spaces. So be prepared to circle the lot or park on the street and walk when you visit. I ordered a 9 inch ham with provolone, had lettuce, tomato, sprouts, mustard and mayo on the fresh baguette. Solid sandwich it had enough meat and cheese to satisfy me which was a little surprising. The baguette was light and tasty, the veggies were fresh and crisp. Overall the sandwich was a solid 9 out of 10, and I am something of a sandwich snob. Tables and chairs outside in the area between the buildings were convenient seating to eat our sandwiches. I'm very impressed and will definitely return the next time I am in the area and looking for a sandwich.
Nice cafe - not super trendy but there are some solid pastries and baguettes here. The pain au chocolat was delicious, soft, and flaky with a ton of chocolate inside, and the mini chocolate chips sprinkled on the top were a nice touch. The green tea isn't anything mind blowing, but it was nice, light, and refreshing. Their baguettes are tasty, especially paired with the pepper paté! Seating is limited - not a ton inside besides the stools that scale the walls, but there are some outdoor tables as well. Would come back just for the pain au chocolat!
My daughter has been telling me about C'est Si Bon Bakery for a while but I never made it there. Recently stopped by to pick up lunch with her and her husband while we were in the area. They got their favorites, curry chicken on a croissant and I ordered the curry chicken salad. The curry chicken was so delicious and it's what they're known for. Salad was super fresh, no wilted lettuce! Wish there was a bit more chicken because I can eat two scoops of just that by itself. Definitely a must visit when I'm back to that area.
I had to get up early to go to HOAG, I had no time to have breakfast or at least a cup of coffee, it was brutal luckily my daughter drove us as I was a zombie! After we got out of HOAG, she drove us to the closest bakery, C'est si bon. I thought it was a French bakery like owned by a real Frenchman but I found out otherwise. The line was long, I almost wanted to leave but the little park next to it was so beautiful my daughter got in line, it was about 18 min wait while I took pictures inside and outside. We ordered 2 croissants and an apple tart. The coffee was excellent but the croissant was chewy, they sat around too long maybe? I should have ordered the pate, it looked so yummy but my daughter talked me out of it as it looked too fatty and was $20/lb then we need to buy bread, we all wanted to go home. We sat on a beautiful corner next to the fountain w 2 fake ducks, LOL! But it was enjoyable I guess you pay for the fun but sorry, the food was just ordinary, I was told it used to be owned by a Frenchman who sold it to the current owner. In France where I went to visit family every year the apple tarts were delicious in almost every bakery, why do they add almond to it in the USA? They made it to American taste buds, TOO TOO SWEET, I could not eat it. I think this bakery is over hyped, it is 3 stars IMHO but I will come back for the pate and the baguette, hopefully they are as good as they look.
There's a parking lot that's a good size available for customers. There was a line when I got there on a Sunday morning but it went pretty fast. I ordered a baguette with butter and an Americano. There isn't much seating available inside but there are places to sit outside, whether it's at tables or benches. My friend and I were able to snag a table and we shared the bread and coffee while talking. It seems like it's a popular spot for bicyclists as well. The bread was good and the Americano was great. I noticed that they had sandwiches and other treats available, which looked yummy.
I've been here a few times now because I truly cannot stop thinking about their curry chicken sandwich. I first stumbled upon C'est Si Bon while waiting to pick up a rental car next door and just wanted a quick bite, now it's in my rotation and I'm putting everyone I know on it. They have an amazing build-your-own sandwich setup where you can choose the size (6", 9", or 12"), and they'll even cut it into halves or quarters, which is so considerate and convenient. Customer service is great, each person that's helped me has been so friendly. They walk you through your order, and the line moves quickly. The space itself is large and feels very open. One side is pretty empty (no tables), but it makes the interior feel spacious while you wait for drinks or sandwiches. Their outside space is my fave! A beautiful, serene patio with a fountain, tons of benches and tables, and a gorgeous brick facade. The whole area has such a peaceful, charming vibe. They also offer a wide variety of pastries (cinnamon rolls, scones, croissants, muffins, and other sweet treats like cakes and tarts) I've tried the cinnamon roll and the pain aux raisins, and both were not overly sweet. There's also a coffee bar station where you can add your own cream, sugar, etc. I think everyone comes here for their sandwiches, specifically the curry chicken sandwich which is... unreal. I don't know anywhere else that makes it like this. The chicken is incredibly tender and packed with flavor. It's a full-on flavor bomb: creamy, savory, slightly sweet, with warm, earthy, aromatic curry notes. It can get a little messy, and I recommend eating it immediately because the bread can get soggy. I've been getting the 12" chicken curry on baguette with provolone, dijon and mayo with sprouts, lettuce, and cucumbers. ugh, so good! I've also tried the tarragon chicken, which is good but not nearly as flavorful as the curry. Heads up: it contains walnuts, so it's not nut-allergy friendly. I'll absolutely keep coming back for that curry chicken sandwich!!
Back at c'est si bon bakery after a while. My favorite French bakery anywhere in CA. It is out of my way. But today, i was craving it. So, i drove 30 min from Long Beach to Newport Beach to get my fix. It is a simple, no thrills small bakery with great classic french Viennoiserie (pastries) such as the croissant, pain au chocolat (known as chocolate croissant which is wrong in my opinion), Authentic Brioche, which no one else makes and Pain au raisin (raisin roll). And please don't get the raisin roll with glaze on top. Get the regular one. Otherwise, you might as well go to a Donut shop. They also have daily baked baguettes, great sandwiches, imported cheeses, cakes, coffees etc... There is parking out front. The space has somewhat limited seating. Most of it being outdoors on the nice patio. Most people pick up their orders to go. The girls who work there are all so beautiful and friendly and their prices are really reasonable. True french bakery, french owner, quality product at an affordable price. Good service. I highly recommend C'est si bon bakery. Merci. À la prochaine...
Staying nearby and was in the mood for a pastry for breakfast. Found this place on Yelp. There was a line out the door when I got there (Sat about 8:45am) but it moved quickly. Prices are very reasonable (maybe it's because I'm comparing to LA?) and everything was delicious!! Nice outdoor patio.
i dont usually go to this side of newport so it was a nice new experience! we came on a monday around 10am and it was pretty quiet. i heard lines get really long on the weekends so im glad we didnt have to wait. we split a 9 inch sandwich and also got pastries: a chocolate chip cookie and chocolate croissant! the cookie and croissant were yummy! nothing like a sugar rush to start your morning :) we both rated the sandwich an 8/10 too. pretty good but not the best sandwich ive had in my life yknow? though if i come back, id prob customize it a little differently and that might change my rating. staff was friendly and seemed nice!
I finally visited C'est Si Bon today after attending a nearby yoga class. I was surprised to find this corner bakery filled to the brim. The line was out the door and all seats were taken on their large patio. You can easily tell it's beloved by locals! Their menu is filled with pastries, bread loafs, cakes, sandwiches, salads, and caffeinated beverages. I kept it simple with a hazelnut latte. The line moved quick and their team was happy to help serve up my next dose of caffeine. The drink was sweet and caffeinated, but I had instant regret not ordering one of their many baked items. Taking notes to return for Thanksgiving! The pumpkin pie looked incredible.
I see this place all the time, whenever I drive past it decided to give it a try. The pastries were plain and hot coffees were mediocre. The vibe in this location was not the greatest at all the staff seemed to show they do not care, and if you ask them about something on the menu it seems they are annoyed about explaining what an item entails. Parking is tight and horrible on top of the top.
Came here because I always drive by it and the lines are long. Finally came after it was somewhat dead. I personally won't come back here. The female employees were warm and welcoming. The males seem annoyed when asked about something. I got the apricot pastry and the long powder croissant one. Also got a cappuccino and a white mocha which I have no pictures of. The pastries were really good. A bit dry on the twist but the apricot one was fire. I give both a 4/5. The white mocha was pretty good. Not much to say 3/5. The cappuccino was a disappointment. 1/5.
FOOD Love the food. Their almond croissant and the sugar free vanilla Latte with Oat Milk were delicious. This place reminds me of a ToGo version of Moulin in NB, with less seating. AMBIANCE Place was packed before 10:00am so you'll know for sure their pastries are 100% fresh. I've been here at least a dozen times before and it's always packed. PARKING Excellent. Tons and free parking with lots of spots in front, to the side and even way in the back. PRICING Competitive
This place gets busy and parking is limited along with seating if you plan to eat indoors our outdoors. The quality of food is exceptional, know for their pastry and sandwiches. The bread is high quality and made fresh and hot. I ordered a roast beef sandwich to go, when I opened my bag, I realized the girl at the counter gave me someone else's sandwich, " Cas" I got your sandwich and you have mine. It was a turkey sandwich with cheddar cheese and I ate it, it was pretty good. Better than I thought it would since it's something I wouldn't order. I also got the Carrot cake, Pecan and raspberry tarts. All exceptional tasting. read more

After spending the first part of my day at the beach, I thought it would be a great idea to grab a sandwich from a local hotspot. After waiting 20 minutes for my 12-inch tuna sandwich, I got home only to discover there was more cheese than tuna. I was further shocked when I opened the sandwich to find that the tomato wasn't even ripe and was still green on the inside. For a place with such a great reputation, the experience was incredibly disappointing. read more

This made for a lovely spontaneous respite. Sitting outside by waterfall in shade and no annoying conversations nearby. The food is too good, people busy enjoying every bite. But the real winner is the staff. When a dude tried to cut me in line the lovely woman behind the counter politely checked him. We then chatted about the Bomb cake which looks insanely good while she made a very fine oatmilk capp. I would come back to try their sandwiches and buy a traditional batard. C'est si Bon lived up to its name today. read more
Wow was I impressed. I had never been here before and we decided to drop by for a late brunch. We got two sandwiches. The sesame bagel and a turkey sandwich, with an iced vanilla latte and a black coffee. It was all delicious!! Everything was made to order and very fresh. It was all ready very fast too, we waited maybe 7 minutes for all our stuff. There was plenty of seating outside and it's very beautiful. We came around 11am on a Sunday and it was pretty busy but nothing crazy. We easily found seating. We had a great time and everything was delicious!! We will definitely be back. read more
They are known for their bread and pastries for a reason! I got the chicken tarragon sandwich on a baguette and it was yummy. I will say the baguette was a little hard and crusty on the outside but I do think it would have been better if it were fresh out of the oven. C'est Si Bon Bakery is one of my favorite low key lunch spots in Newport. The sandwiches are really good, mostly because the bread is baked fresh and you can taste the quality in every bite. Simple ingredients, but everything feels fresh and well put together. I usually grab a pastry too and the apple tart is my favorite. It is not overly sweet and has a great texture. Easy place to stop for lunch, quick, consistent, and always hits. read more

Was my to go place when I lived nearby decade ago. Still busy in the morning, parking can be tricky but manageable. The place is big, clean and filled with baked goods and café aroma. Line can be long but moved quickly. Staff are nice, fast and attentive to your ordered. If you order anything that needs to prepare in the back, suck as sandwiches, soup, salads, etc. then you might have to wait abit long longer (5-10mins) depending on how many ahead of you. There are window seatings inside and there is a courtyard on the side of the store that covered with trees and plenty of table and chairs. The foods are good, not the best but good. Prices are not bad either, and you can choose what go into your sandwich or others, which is great. Glad I stopped by to relive the good old time and tasted the good food. read more

Be sure to come here when not too busy like lunch time. Being said that, the Chicken Curry sandwich on baguette was delicious. Generously served with provolone, pickles, tomatoes, cucumbers, and mustard dijon. The 12" sandwich was definitely a shared meal. Wow! I can't believe it took me this long to find this place. After visiting somewhere else in this beautiful shopping center, we stumbled upon this busy cafe and promised to visit back. Several months too late, we made our way back with family. The customer service, food quality, curated variety, and no-longer-available pricing makes this place an indubitable 5 stars. I think the last time I saw coffee under $3 was when I was younger than 10 years old! In terms of ordering drinks or sandwiches, I like the customizability. The sandwich bags and coffee cups each respectively have sections to write up your order. The sandwiches were tasty, had high-quality ingredients, and were cheaper than Subway! The Chicken Tarragon on Baguette was absolutely delicious. I ordered it with an Iced Pomegranate Green Tea which was subtle and refreshing. My family shared a slice of cake which was so decadent. read more

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember!! A beloved favorite. Riding my bikes here with my friends when I was too young to drive, then driving as a teen, then coming after a night out with friends, then placing orders for Quiksilvers corporate offices when they were in Costa Mesa... now my family goes there! A local favorite for generations. The best breads, the best sandwiches!! Still after all these years my favorite sandwich EVER without a doubt, IYKYK!! My order -Turkey cheddar on a baguette, tomato, sprouts, cucumber with pickles on the side mayo and EXTRA Dijon. Very busy on a saturday late lunch time. The line and workers were efficient. Display was well done. Girl behind the counter was not having a great day (or just woeking the lunch rush?). I asked for suggestions. She recommended the pumpkin pie with no explanation. There were no plackards or signs or labels for what the individual goods were. I know what pumpkin pie and cheesecake are. Almost everything else was a mystery. I told her I had never been and didn't get any more support. I ordered cheesecake, pumpkin pie and some sort of cake with half vanilla amd half chocolate mousse. Both the cheesecake and the pumpkin pie were excellent. The vanillaousde was also excellent. The chocolate portion was a step below all the other items/flavors. Not a lot of seating l, but the weather outside was very pleasant. People around me were also pleasant. A little disappointed there was no bread pudding. The baked goods were very good. read more
Great spot to get a yummy sandwich on a fresh baguette. I got the roast beef sandwich. It was my first time there so when you get to the counter the write your order on a bag and they circle the choices you make. Pretty clever, I liked that. We also ordered two sugar cookies and a carrot cake slice and it was a hit. I think the 6 inch is perfect, I have been full all day! Place was packed and parking is a bit busy, but it was worth it. Had a tuna sandwich and it was very good. I do wish they had a combo so you didn't have to buy your drink, sandwich and chips separately. Beware that it tends to be crowded here, especially around lunch time. read more

Arguably the best chai tea latte I have had! Between errands in the morning I decided to pop in for a quick lunch at C'est Si Bon. I was caught off guard a bit when I realized how popular the restaurant is with a line out the door! I didn't have to wait long for my food though, maybe 10min, which IMO is a win. :) I got the roast beef sandwich with provolone on baguette. The bread is SO fresh! The smallest size was more than a good serving size for lunch but I literally inhaled the whole thing. It was THAT good. And back to the chai latte of dreams!!! After receiving my drink I walked over to the sugar counter where they have an awesome house blend of spices that you can sprinkle over the top of your cup. The latte was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. All the fragrant notes of a Chai Tea latte that you love but not overbearing or bitter at all. Can't wait to take the family next time. Always good, been going here for 15 years. It gets busy during lunch time so expect a wait but they run an overall very efficient operation. The food is noticeably fresh, service is great, and the price...well it's reasonable when you consider the zip code. Honestly don't have any complaints and never have. They run a model operation and if you happen to be passing by you should check it out. The ambiance is also a lot better since the shopping center remodeled. Outdoor seating is the way to go. Oh and the baguettes and pies rock - great for a potluck or to make a meal at home. read more

I have tried to get a hold of them multiple times over the past several days but no one has answered and I'm unable to leave a voicemail. Is there a better number to reach them at to make an order over the phone?
I am sorry that you have that experience. They are super busy. Maybe if you call early in the morning. They are open at 6:30 am ( I am not sure)
Are there any pandemic precautions happening here? I am interested in getting pick up but am not interested in standing in line next to other folks. There was a review from one day ago that mentioned crowds. Is that indicative of what's happening?
I never stopped to go there on Sundays since this craziness started. They are very conscious . You have to follow the the tapes on the ground ( giving the social distance)…
Where do the ingredients come from? Do they come from Europe or locally sourced?
Locally. They have things that are imported ( some cheese, patê, wines) but forget about all that . Their bread is out of this world ( my opinion) the croissants are " heaven" the brownies are another " heaven"…
