It was one of those experiences that got me yelping again... Excellent food. Ribeye hash did not disappoint, the boiled kale balanced out the meat and carbs nicely. The strawberry donuts were a great finish, amazing texture unlike any donut, almost a cross between a donut and bagel but better than both. So why the 3? The interior is so inviting and warm, the wait wasn't bad at all for a walk-in, and the staff were so polite and accommodating. We ordered the Maple Pecan Crusted Salmon, which comes with pearled cauliflower and roasted broccoli. It was ridiculously divine. The crust was perfect, the salmon was tender, and we could've ordered a second one to take home with us - highly recommend. We also ordered the Ribeye Hash because, again, breakfast for dinner can't be beat! There was a lot going on with this hash, between the tender sliced steak, the bell peppers, the poached eggs in hollandaise sauce, the mushrooms, the kale and everything else. The pictures don't do Great Maple justice at all, I'm afraid. Everything tasted way better than it looked, and prices are quite reasonable for the taste, quality and portion size. We came in to have a light dinner after some shopping at fashion island. Place was packed and we were able to grab two seats at the bar. This is not a very big restaurant with a full bar and patio dining area. The menu was mostly comfort food and brunch items. We decided on lemon shrimp pasta, scalloped potatoes and cinnamon donuts. For drinks we had Grey Goose dry martini and Moroccan iced tea. I loved that they had good selections of zero proof drinks since I am off alcohol again. Just note that at least half the party needs to be present before you can be seated. Jenny was exceptional - attentive, friendly, and genuinely made sure we had everything we needed. We were celebrating an engagement, and she surprised us with six delicious donuts for the table, on the house, at the end of our meal. I got a cali chopped salad without chorizo for take-out. I'm sure this is more of a brunch spot but wanted something healthier which was a mistake. The salad was big but was literally a head of chopped iceberg lettuce with hardly any toppings. The toppings they did have were not fresh or flavorful at all. They did up charge me for switching out the maple bacon doughnut for the cinnamon doughnut by $2 after I told the server, Kevin, I don't eat pork which I found very strange, but apparently the Chef said the flavor profiles were really important.... 01/15/26 First time at this restaurant, came here from recommendation for lunch with investment broker. The outside and inside of this place is nice and inviting. Many customers are seated out on the patio as to make it appear a popular place to dine, and some bring their dogs along to wait for the owners to finish; although, the inside of this place was fairly empty was only us three dining inside from noon to 1:30pm. I wanted to play it safe so I stuck to just ordering a burger and fries; although the two others at my table ordered the meatloaf because our waiter said it was very good and one of the guests favorites on the menu. I was happy with my burger but it wasn't exceptional because I had better burgers before. My other two guests didn't particularly enjoy their meatloafs. My friend only ate half of his meatloaf took the other half home and ended tossing it into the trash yesterday afternoon. I tasted a piece of his meatloaf and was thankful that I hadn't ordered it because it was nasty to say the least. Secondly, all those mashed potatoes they pile up underneath the meatloaf to make it look like a plate full of food is just totally disgusting and ridiculous. That nasty meatloaf and all those mashed potatoes simply aren't worth the price of $30. We should have just gone to Five Guys in the food court nearby for lunch and everyone would have been happier with ordering a burger and fries there which would have been cheaper and better tasting. Don't waste your $100-$150 plus a $20/$40 tip on this place for lunch for three. Don't get ripped off! Also, never believe everything that the waiter tells you. read more

Visited the Great Maple on a Saturday during brunch hours. We were able to be seated immediately even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The restaurant is very open and has both indoor and outdoor seating. I quickly found numerous options to order but our amazing server helped me to narrow down the options and I ultimately chose to order the Fried Chicken and Donuts. This was probably one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. The donut went perfectly with the crispy chicken. A sweet and spicy experience. I will say it is a meal worth sharing. Ended up here after driving to Amarith and realizing it's not a full service restaurant with seating. Great Maple is located on the second floor at Fashion Island Mall, close to Vuori and PF Changs. Had dinner with my friend who just moved to Newport and we sat outside on a Tuesday night. Not crowded, there were about 3 other parties on the patio. Our server Merissa was such a delight. She was very down to earth and checked on us the right amount of times and was very polite and cognizant that we were in the middle of a deep conversation and would let us know she was in the area if we needed anything. I ordered the mushroom fries to start and would recommend that to any and everyone. They're battered, deep fried portabella mushroom strips and they were cooked perfectly. It wasn't saturated in oil or bursting with hot oil or liquid either. It came with a very good dipping sauce and we both finished this. I ordered the falafel wrap and it was ok. The falafel was a little too mushy for my liking but still tasty. I got that since I was trying to eat healthier, but I'd probably get a protein bowl or salad next time. For dessert we tried their beignets that came with a lemon dipping sauce. The beignets were good, but my go-to are the beignets from Ralph Brennan's and these tasted a little more doughy. I think the beignets from Ralph Brennan's are lighter, crispier and fluffier. I did not let any of these go to waste and took home the remaining 2 and ate them the next day and they were still delicious. I drank their lavender lemonade and a water and would also recommend the lavender lemonade as it's refreshing and different. I've been to other Great Maple's before for their brunch and would recommend that as well. Had the most amazing brunch experience this past weekend at Great Maple at Fashion Island! I've been wanting to try it out for some time now so I'm glad the weather showed up and showed out. I made the reservation a week in advance for 10:15 am and I'm thankful I did because it was packed and parties were waiting to be seated outside. I started with their cinnamon iced latte which came with the most adorable little bit of toast stuck to the rim - the latte itself was alright. My bf and dad both got black coffees which the waitstaff was incredibly attentive in refilling. They were both definitely over-caffeinated by the end of our meal lol We got the french toast logs to share which came in the heftiest portion (as were all the dishes!) and it was delicious. I loved that it wasn't drenched in syrup and that I could add as little or as much as I wanted. The blueberries were also super sweet and juicy for it not being in season. Very pleased and highlyyyy recommend. For my main I got the ribeye hash which was just outstanding. I can't wait to have it again. The mushrooms were perfectly juicy and full of umami flavor, the shreds of ribeye so tender, and the potatoes and onions all tied the dish together so perfectly. Loved the crispy onions on top as well. My dad got the fried chicken and donuts (insane) and he really enjoyed it as well. Huge portion could def be shared. My bf got the chilaquiles which he also really enjoyed and I snuck a bite of. Very well thought out menu and quality food. During my last visit, I ordered the ribeye melt which I thought was enjoyable. Something I HIGHLY recommend ordering is the seasonal donuts from here--I've tried quite a few flavors and they're all soooo good!! I'd say everything here is on the pricey end for what it is though. They have both indoor and patio seating. I'd say the ambiance is definitely nicer inside than it is outside and personally prefer sitting inside. The service was very good (slightly elevated dining) which you would expect at a restaurant at Fashion Island. I ordered the Lemon Shrimp Pasta it was good, but not something I would order again. My husband ordered the Traditional Biscuit Benedict and he said also wouldn't order it again but it was well made. We both loved the doughnuts but 3 was WAY too much!
