A new vendor at the Fashion Island food court. It is tucked away in a corner adjacent to Chick-fil-A. They are originally from Chicago, and the concept brings a new offering to the area. Their rolls are quite pricey, at $9.75/piece or 2 rolls for $18. This was quite a price difference from what I have seen from their Chicago menu. You can also sample rolls as you browse their menu. I ordered the shrimp and prosciutto rolls. They offer peanut sauce, hot sauce, and I forgot the 3rd sauce. The staff was friendly and food came out within 10 minutes. Since it is within a food court, there are tables that accommodate parties of varying size in a well-lit area. The rolls were okay. I hate that they used paper as part of their packaging as the rolls stuck to them. I did not think the price was justified given exceptional rolls in O.C. at half the price. read more

Kaleido Rolls is located in the atrium food court between Barnes and nobles and Whole Foods Tried the corned beef and smoked salmon rolls with the sweet chili sauce - the smoked salmon was my favorite. The portion size was perfect for me and kept me satisfied - and the 2/$18 deal was a steal I couldn't pass up. I ended up sharing up sharing with my hubby The cashier told us we could do all half rolls for the 2/$18 deal so thats a perfect idea to try a little bit of everything. Your own party sampler! Overall a delicious but healthy option rarely offered in food courts - which was a bonus in my book. Update: Came back again and honestly it was even better this time. They really upped the presentation, the rolls look way cleaner now and stuffed with more veggies and stuff. Got the Chicken Caesar again and the Falafel again and both hit even harder this round. The sesame on the Falafel was super good and the Caesar roll was packed. The food was tasty, it was more filling than I expected. Id definitely eat this again, it seemed like a great low/carb option. I had the smoked salmon roll and the prosciutto roll and usually i can only find smoked salmon with bagels and that's too many carbs for me. I'm happy that someone came up with this idea for spring rolls. The cashier was friendly and offered me samples and recommendations. Kaleido Rolls is great! i got two kinds and the packaging was super clean and nice looking and presentation was actually really good when i opened the box no mess at all. the shrimp roll was good big pieces of shrimp and lettuce and all that healthy stuff i liked the peanut sauce with it a lot. the smoked salmon roll was surprising i thought it would be weird but the salmon was good and it went well with the roll. but the food itself was pretty solid and fresh i might go back sometime if im in the area. read more

tldr: yummy, healthy, and clean food; by far, the healthiest option in the food court. -- Food I tried each of the rolls they had at launch. Chicken Ceasar wrap - my fave! Solid chicken ceasar salad but with a twist on a normal wrap with the rice paper, it worked really well. It had some dressing already, I think; so I didn't need to dip it in anything else. Corned Beef wrap - my second fave. I liked the brininess of the corned beef and it went surprisingly well with the peanut sauce (but not sure if others would like that combo as much as I did). Spicy Tuna wrap - solid and interesting as well to use rice paper instead of rice (like nigiri sushi), not very spicy at all though..... Falafel - good falafels, definitely baked and not fried/oily. The hummus was good too. -- Service & Experience Visited on Black Friday around 2PM after the lunch rushday/date at time. When I got there, it stood out to me since it was something new and different than Panda/Five Guys/etc that are great but standard food court fare. This was definitely the healthiest option there and it looks like they are still getting things settled in since it was literally the first day of their soft opening. Service was good and friendly, especially as I asked to be guided through everything. -- Ambiance Parking at Fashion Island was busy but it was Black Friday so about what I expected (lol) -- Detailed Thoughts On Black Friday I thought to myself "today is a good day to go to Fashion Island" - it turns out Kaleido Rolls had the same idea; as Black Friday was the day of their soft opening.
