Its a 1 star because I cant rate them any lower.
Now, let me say that the best deal they have is UNLISTED - 2 for $20 steak or chicken. We used to get that all the time, now will will never return.
Where to begin...ah yes, the servers.
The "old lady" with the ridiculous hair is actually one of the owners. Shes the RUDE one that everyone has been talking about in their reviews. She doesn't listen to what you want and seems SHOCKED when you confront her about an error. If you push her, she will dump you onto another server.
Drinks are generally never refilled and the servers tend to ignore you until the bill.
The Garlic Butter - Guys, this is I Cant Believe Its Not Butter and garlic. No joke.
Sushi - Expensive and poor - I cant tell you how many times I have seen people send these back stating that they are just WRONG - using the incorrect fish, ingredients, taste terrible, etc.
The cooks - Overall are pretty nice guys, but come on - these aren't Teppenyaki chefs. Most of them cant even get a volcano right, let alone cook correctly. There is ONE guy that does an amazing job.
The checks - the servers NEVER know what to do if you complain, so they figure if they ignore you, you will simply give up and pay to just get out the door. Do what I did, confront her SON, the guy who checks you in at the front. He at least will apologize, but you will need to continue to push him before he removes something from the check. He will, but you need to push - this will be explained in a moment.
The danger - they don't clean the tables properly. You know the steel wool that is supposed to scrape the gunk off the table after they cook? Well, low and behold, a piece ended up in my wife's food, not a small piece either. It was mixed in with everything and, you guessed it, she ate it. The piece became caught in her throat.
Thank god, she was able to cough it out. I was like 3 inches long.
I took it immediately to the front counter and told them what happened. I got a blank stare. I was getting irate - "what are you going to do about this?" He finally apologized. He knew exactly where the steel wool had come from and so did the other employee. I stood my ground and asked him again what he intended to do about it. He finally agreed to remove her meal from the bill. That should have been an immediate response after the apology. Best part - no one asked if she was OK or went to check on her - or the table to see if there were any more issues.
With that - we are done with Musashi - we are not taking any more risks with an establishment that cant be bothered to properly clean its food preparation surfaces and a total lack of concern for its clients.
If you REALY want a good teppanyaki meal - take the time and go to Benihana or House of Genji. read more
