Food just so so. We had the Murphy Club, it was cold no doubt sat to long, the pastrami was dry, turkey was fine but got the wrong side and by the time I got the mustard it was really cold. We had not slept all night and was anxious to get our ticket but had to wait. I never leave no tip and in the waitresses defense they did seem to be short handed, yes I guess we should have not put it all on her and at least left a couple but after she was so rude and called us out publicly but quietly admitted the service was bad she made a public spectacle of us, what if we were so rude and rudely called her out on bad service? Had she been nice ( as in the customer is always right) I would have went ahead and left a few$$$ but she can't bully her way to a tip. Subway is better, Warmer, much cheaper and much better service read more

Have a great boozy bruch. The waitress Candice was super fun add did a great job! Actually all the staff were very friendly.

BEST REUBEN EVER!....Hands down! The corned beef is made everyday, not too salty...the sauerkraut is delicious- slightly sweet and not too vinegary (if that is a word). Im thinking they make it there as well. I save this place for a special, once-in-a-while treat because they definitely do not skimp out on the portion size. read more

The meatball sub sandwich was very good. Staff was efficient and friendly.

This is the best place to stop for a few pints of Guiness,or have the best Ruben of your life!! I have frequented many times in my youth at the old location and it's good to see things don't change! I'll be here again and often!! read more

Weekend breakfast is fabulous. Stop by and say hello to Ruth & her crew. For lunch - pastrami & melted Swiss on rye is da best! And have a few of their pickles. :) read more

This place is truly amazing! From the homemade food, the atmosphere, and the outgoing staff, it all makes for a great experience! We're from out of town, but no doubt we have to make this a tradition every year when we come back to providence! read more

Overall, I was pretty disappointed. I understand that it's pub food, but everything lacked flavor. Everyone got big portions, but the food was lacking in almost every area. Great place to go for a beer but I'd steer clear of the food. read more

We love Murphy's. The food is great. The servers are friendly and efficient. We especially loved Candace! Highly recommended.

I recently discovered yelp. The first place that popped into my head was Murphy's. I have been going there for years and it is, and always has been, FANTASTIC! Some places lose their charm, and much else, over the years but not Murphy's. It gets better as time goes on and continues to provide great food, for great prices and the warm and friendly atmosphere that keeps you coming back time and time again. read more

One of the best corned beef hash breakfasts that I have ever tasted. Also they have super spicy bloody marys that are amazing. The homemade pickles are a must try. read more

Deli in a bar, no joke. The food is no joke either. Good beers, local and national craft beers. Best part was the service. Great staff and the owner checked on me twice. read more

Went here for drinks with friends before a concert at Lupos..one of the best Irish bars in Prov. The bartender was super friendly. A must go. Foods pretty good too read more

Super greasy fried everything, which might be exactly what you want. Service was adequate, beer was cold, food was... warm? The rest of this review is filler because Yelp decided short reviews don't mean much. read more

Love Murphy's this place rocks! Food is awesome and all homemade! Staff is great! My favorite item on the menu is the Ruben with a side of homemade Mac and cheese. If your in Providence, you have to stop by Murphy's! read more

Wow. When three of us walked in to sit at the bar for brunch, we did not expect class. We also did not expect to pay $100 to spend the afternoon in the bathroom. Undercooked corned beef between two pieces of soggy white bread does not a Reuben make. Especially when you're so starving from waiting over an hour, that after pulling the rubbery meat out of the sandwich you are forced to eat the soggy toast on its own out of sheer necessity! And if this wasn't enough, somehow we found ourselves walking on eggshells because the chip on our bartender's shoulder nearly eclipsed our meal altogether! Not only is this place not recommended, it is in your best interest to NEVER walk through the door. $100 american dollars in the toilet. read more

Murphy's. I live right down the street and this place is my go-to. Great food and the pickles are so bomb. One suggestion: deep fry your Mac and cheese. It's great on its own but I can imagine murphys Mac and cheese bites really catching on. read more

Went yesterday before the P Bruins game. Should have known better as I'd been there twice before. The service was S-L-O-W per usual. Granted, it was busy but to wait 30-35 minutes for my steak sandwich is a bit much. 4 food orders went in, two came out, then 10 minutes later, the other two. We're talking about a BLT, burger, chicken wings and a steak sandwich. The steak was rubbery and in a brown mess of onions, mushrooms and some odd tasting cheese. Bad choice by me. The BLT was fine as was the burger, though it was ordered well done so how could you tell? The chicken wings were not hot, luke warm at best. I've worked in commercial kitchens and this one is a disorganized mess. Do yourself a favor, if you're in a hurry, don't go. If all you want is a sandwich or a burger, and you have time to burn, then give it a shot. Just don't challenge the kitchen. You'll regret it. read more

This was our first night in Providence, and our experience at Murphy's was so good we had to write this review! The location is awesome, the prices are good, and the drinks are very generous- But what prompted this review is that the kitchen and bartending staff went out of their way to make us something that wasn't on the late-night menu, and continued to go above and beyond all night, making sure we had a great experience. The next time we're in Providence, I know where we'll be stopping. Thanks, guys. read more

Excellent pub downtown, Providence .Dinner was delicious, plus outstanding service, great management. I will back for more.

Measured Meat? I remember the old Murphy's when the meat was thicker than the layer of mustard on the sandwich. 1 slice of meat between 2 pieces of bread. Terrible! read more

Visited this evening with our three small children after the PBruins game. Walked in around 530pm Sunday. Table of 6. Was told a 20 minute wait. That was pretty spot on. Everything went downhill from there. Waited to give drink order waited around 30 minutes to place food order, Drinks were forgotten. After waiting about an hour for food (1 turkey club, 1 kids pb&j, 1 kids hot dog, a BLT and an order of fish and chips... nothing that should take an hour) we finally said that's it we're leaving and asked for the drink check. We get all our kids coats on and are at the door and the food comes out. The only thing that's supposed to be hot (fish and chips) is cold and mushy so it's obviously been sitting a while. Extremely poor service. We won't be returning. read more

Stuck in Providence during the big blizzard, there were few (if any) options the day after the storm. The city was shut down with the exception of Murphys. We were greeted by the 1 of 3 staff that made it in. Although unconvential service, they definitely improvised and overcame! The place filled being the only place open. Although short staffed, the food did not dissappoint. My corned beef reuben was outstanding. I have never had more moist and melt in your mouth corned beef. Definite kudos to the folks at Murphys! read more

Great place!!! Awesome beer list. Extensive menu. Definitely want to go back!

Great sandwiches, stuffing and local beers. Service leaves something to be desired. Great place to catch a game.

Horrible food , had a turkey club , it was so dry I couldn't eat the other half. Our server was nice but the rest of our party didn't get their food for about an hr. I used to like this place but $15 for a dry unedible club is ridiculous, plus the wait time is unacceptable, especially since it wasn't even recognized by the manager , no apology at all. Providence has plenty of great restraunts , find another one. read more

I stopped in here because it was in close proximity to my hotel and fairly affordable. I returned the next day with friends (bringing them more business) only to have a horrible experience. After no greeter and an excruciating long wait, our drink orders weren't taken for at least 20 minutes after being seated, then another 20 before our order was taken. The waitress never returned to the table after our food finally arrived. She then refused to split the check, up charged my order, and argued with me when I showed her the price on the menu. The food is typical pub food nothing special, but with such horrible service and such a long wait NOT WORTH IT. If you want a friendly pub or a good atmosphere, keep walking. read more

Solid beer selection, very tasty food (particularly the Reuben Egg Rolls & their various wings - excellent!), and really great service. Oh, and there are normally food specials during every Boston sports (Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics, Pats) game. Kara (who was tending the bar) was PHENOMENAL (she covered literally everything we could have needed without asking, and was funny & pleasant to talk to as well). We just visited for the first time today, and were extremely impressed. We will definitely be back, it was that good! read more

This place is alright. The Irish dude behind the bar is great.. The food is less than mediocre.. Wings were undercooked, shrimp tacos were saturated in whatever juice the tomatoes and corn were sitting in. Every bite dripped into a puddle that ended up being 2 inches deep. Drinks were drinks.. read more

Murphy's is fantastic all around! My wife and I are from out of town and stopped in for lunch and a quick beer. We ended up saying for hours due to their awesome hospitality! Be sure to say hello to a great bartender Dom and the owner Louis! Try the corned beef sandwich while you're laying down some brews! read more

Great place to hangout. The beer is at a good price and the food is great. Not a bad crowd either.

Elaine, our server, was OUTSTANDING. She greeted my friend and I through the crowd and helped us pick a phenomenal local brew. Elaine was very pleasant, personable, and really cared about our experience at the establishment. If you visit Providence I recommend you come here and hope you have Elaine as your server. She is A+. And I couldn't believe it that the pastrami was better than the family's "Katz" in NYC. But that's my Personal opinion. read more

Been meaning to write a review for awhile. I've been going to Murphy's since it's old location. I have been a fan since I first walked in. Great food, decent price, sandwiches are huge, and beer prices decent. Get there early if you are going there before an event at the Dunk as it will fill up fast! I eat there as often as I can come off my diet! read more

I have known this family owned establishment for over 15 years! They used to be located on Union St back then. The "new" location is bigger, but maintains the excellent service and friendly environment that Murphy's is known for! Great food, great people. read more
