By far my favorite restaurant in Providence. The quality of the food is always the best and the portion to cost ratio is amazing. Staff has always been kind and accommodating. Bonus points as this is the only Liverpool FC bar in the area. If you come and watch a match you won't be disappointed by the food, drinks, and atmosphere read more

Ive been to Murphys many times during my time living in Providence and they never fail to exceed my expectations; the food always tastes fantastic and the portion sizes are huge for the price. The servers are always very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. The lighting is beautiful and the overall Irish/American vibe provides for an incredible atmosphere. read more

Decent Irish Bar with Guinness on tap. Great atmosphere and good customer service, minus the 80s music with old MTV music videos playing in the background. Only tried the soup of the day, split pea soup, which was alright. Beer was great. read more

I ordered the Murphy's Reuben via ubereats, it was delicious! HOWEVER, they sadly forgot to include the Russian dressing. I specifically chose the option to put it directly on the sandwich (I guess their standard is to serve it on the side) which they did not do, nor did I receive it as a side. This was extremely disappointing as the dressing is one of the most important components of a Reuben to me, and what makes a Rueben a Reuben. It is one of the main reasons I like them so much. To make matters worse, I have no Russian or thousand island dressing at home, and the grocery stores are now closed, so I'll have to wait til tomorrow to eat my Reuben and it'll have to be reheated and probably a bit soggy. I had a few bites and it was indeed delicious, but I paid $20 for this all said and done, and I'd rather wait to eat it the way I want it. I'd rather deal with some sogginess than no dressing. I just wish that I was able to taste the sandwich fresh as it was meant to be made. So that's why I'm only giving 3 stars right now. However, I WILL be ordering from Murphy's again, as the quality of the food was excellent! Perhaps I should go in person, so I can send it back if there are any mistakes, but I'm really more of a delivery kind of girl. So long as there are no more errors with my food in the future, I could see this place easily being a 4 or even 5 star place. Oh, and the pickles on the side were delicious too! Really great food, but someone needs to read the orders more carefully and make sure that the food they're sending out is correct. I'm definitely willing to give Murphy's another chance and will adjust my rating accordingly, I'm just a bit miffed that I spend $20 only to have to spend another $5 on an ingredient that was supposed to be included, and I can't eat my sandwich until tomorrow. I wouldn't have been upset if they put it in a cup on the side instead of on the sandwich as requested, because that's easy enough to fix myself, but to have it omitted entirely was disappointing to say the least. All in all, an unfortunate first impression when it comes to service, but an excellent first impression with the overall quality of the food. I would still totally recommend Murphy's, as I have a feeling I just got unlucky, and again-the food itself really is great, but perhaps go in person rather than ordering delivery. I order ubereats and doordash ALL the time, I mean seriously like almost daily, and this is the first time in over a year that a restaurant has messed up my order so that is why I am particularly disappointed, as this definitely isn't something that happens frequently. It's really not hard to double check an order to make sure it's correct before sending it out. What if I had made an allergy request and they ignored it? It's not hard to imagine how this mistake happened-there is clearly a lack of communication in the kitchen. Because the standard is to serve the sauce separately (not sure why-I think Murphy's should reconsider this practice as the sauce is an integral part of a reuben) so the person making it didn't bother to read or wasn't correctly told the order, made it as per usual, and then the person expediting/packing it up probably DID read the order and saw that the sauce was to be but directly on the sandwich rather than on the side, but did not bother to check that it actually was. I'm mentioning all this so that the owners of Murphy's hopefully read this and can address it with their staff so that they can do better in the future. These simple mistakes are easily avoided but they really affect the customers enjoyment of the meal. read more

Hands down the best fish and chips I have had. Last night I stopped in with a friend and ordered their fish and chips for the first time, and I can't stop thinking about it. I have to go back for that. Would be 5 stars - but the mac and cheese was no bueno. And the Reuben was good, but we had to get Pastrami since they ran out of Corned Beef. Still tasty. Staff is friendly, we had excellent service. read more

Generally unimpressed - my wife and I were at a Providence Civic center event and gave Murphy's a try based on proximity. The nachos appetizer was skimpy on salsa, the roast beef and pastrami sandwich did not have horseradish as advertised, and was almost absent of mushrooms. We'll try somewhere else on a future trip. read more

We wound up here as a second choice. Turns out it should have been our first. The restaurant next door failed to make any effort to acknowledge our existence much less offer to seat us. So we walked down the block and we're pleasantly surprised. Service was outstanding. They were busy. However I never felt ignored. If I was going to have to wait a little longer the bartender was right up front about it. Never rude, short, or rushed. And very friendly and professional. The food was excellent. I got the Luna. Everything was fresh and delicious. My fiancee got the burger melt. She said it made her top 5 burgers of all time. The whole staff we interacted with were as much the reason we'll be back as the food. It's a pub. And it's perfect as that. Not pretentious at all. And they pour an excellent Guinness and Black and Tan. read more

Well we never got to eat. We came in and it was crowded. The woman said it shouldn't be too long but wouldn't give us a wait time. We decided to wait for a table. We waited and waited and waited. We noticed several tables where the people we done with their meals but due to a soccer game on the television they just continued to sit at the tables. Then when tables became available they gave it to parties of 3 to 4 people instead of us (party of 2) even though we had arrived before them. We were on a time constraint so we left without being able to eat. We will never go back. read more

This review should really be 2.5 stars and had it not been for the stellar service of our waitress, I would have given them 2 stars. We were in town for Rhode Island Comic Con and were famished. This place was down the block from our hotel. We were hangry, cold, and tired. Since it was Friday night, we didn't feel like schlepping around town trying to find a table so we settled on a quick bite here. We were quickly given menus and a bowl of the home made pickles, which were the highlight of the night. My husband had the fish and chips. I had a fish sandwich and macaroni salad. Our waitress was kind to come up with an alternative for fries because I am allergic to potatoes. My fish sandwich was OK. It did the job of filling my up and it was well cooked. Good batter and flaky in the inside. The macaroni salad was pretty good too. My husband, however, got ill from his fish and chips. It was the only thing he had eaten that day. :( Service was really good. She checked in with us and got the bill quickly. read more

I had the turkey curry sandwich with tater tots and it was very good. Most definitely a three napkin sandwich, the portions were huge!

Patrick was our server and he was fantastic! We came around 8 and were able to enjoy half priced starters. My hubby let me try some of his clam chowder and it was awesome. I had the chili and loved that it came with chips on the side. We got the Panko tenders to split. The buffalo sauce was great, I liked that it was not too spicy. With our drinks it was a little over $16 total. Absolutely fantastic deal for their location. So glad we tried it, we will definitely be back as Patrick suggested some other dishes to try next visit. Parking was easy as well, we got a spot right on the street in front. read more

I'm not impressed and I'm also not turned off. After experiencing Murphy's, I just am. That's that. It's a pub with delicious grinders and your basic drink options. Murphy's is an Irish pub, so maybe I would have been better off if I had gotten one of the classics such as the Reuben sandwich. I did attempt to try the fish and chips, but they had sold out around dinnertime on a Sunday. I went with their OG burger and was immediately disappointed. Their menu says, and I quote word for word, "Two 4 ounce patties, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on a potato roll." It ended up being on white bread! What kind of burger is that?! The bottom bread was incredibly soggy from the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Plus, the lettuce was clearly not fresh. The meat tasted like it had just been defrosted in the microwave. The only decent part about my meal were the fries, which were thick-cut, warm, and salty. Nevertheless, you do get quite a bit of food for ~$12. read more

After a long delayed flight, this was just the thing we needed. The bartender was amazing and the food was awesome! The bread, OMG, the bread. It was like a mini loaf of manna. Chewy outside, soft, moist inside, just amazing. Wish I had five stomachs to try the entire menu. When I go back to RI, I'm making a stop. This is the real Murphy's Irish pub! read more

Murphy's is a way divey Irish bar. The leprechaun decor is way over the top, but the food and beer selection is impression. I counted a dozen taps, and lots of bottles on my visit. Murphy's has an extensive... reuben menu? Is that a thing? Yes! I ordered their Murphy's Reuben, which was stacked uber-high with corned beef. The burger menu looked similarly impressive. I'd definitely recommend a Murphy's stop if you're looking for a good beer and some meaty food. read more

Located right across Dunkin' Donuts center, it also happens to be the place where everyone migrates to before or after an event. Their kitchen's open late, hence good place for getting food. Service is pretty good inspite of the crowd, they do try their best but can be a while by the time you flag down somebody for a drink and some more longer if you want a menu. Friends got the chicken wings which were pretty good. Also got the buffalo wrap which was slightly dry but good. Well drinks are good, they do have a full bar. Overall good place to stop by for a late night snack. They're open till 2am on the weekends. There was also a band playing live music which was pretty good actually. There's sort of a small dance floor in front of the stage once some of the crowd clears up. Overall 3.5 stars. read more

Ordered the sea food platter. It was fantastic. A lot of food for one person. Being from Michigan, local seafood is always a treat. If I ever find myself in RI again I would definitely swing by for food. The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 is because my friend didn't enjoy her food as much as I did (she is a super super picky eater though... so take her opinion with a grain of salt) and it was sooo hot. The heat was working well, maybe too well. read more

Love this place for lunch. The sandwiches are piled with deli meat but not so much that you can't fit your mouth around it. I appreciate good sandwich ratio. They all come with their housemade pickles. I don't even like pickles, but I sometimes eat these. Very lightly pickled, still crunchy, cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers. You can also get sandwiches to go. read more

This is the place you go for a beer and pastrami sandwich on rye. I have been going to Murphy's now for almost 20 years and the experience is always the same. The food is great but the service is very sub par. Because the service is sub par then the drinking experience is the same as well unless you sit at the bar, then you should be fine. Deb is the best. This place specializes in deli sandwiches and their all great. They probably have the best reuben/pastrami sandwich in RI. I really can't think of a better one. So here's the low down. Go in and get a pastrami reuben and a craft beer. Start off with the potato skins and you can't lose. Just be patient with the service if you don't sit at the bar. Thanks read more
