Good spot for some food & a pint. I've been here a couple of times. I'll be back!! Try the Sandwiches or shepherd's pie!!

Hands-down the best Reuben sandwich in Providence and a great variety of rotating draft beer selections plus all the classics any good Irish pub would have. Great spot to pregame before events at the Donk whatever those come back. read more

Murphy's Deli is a fun Irish pub right in the middle of downtown. you wont find much parking near it, but that's an excuse to see the city as you're walking to Murphy's. the place is very open and inviting. the deli counter is right along the back walk in the bar area and i think it adds a little something like you re almost in a real deli but a bar? if that makes sense hah we sat in the bar area and we're waiter-ed on by the bartender. at first i thought he might have a tough time doing both, but he was right on point with serving the bar and taking care of us. they have all types of deli sandwiches with all the deli type of sides to chose from. and a regular menu of burgers, nachos, soups, salads etc. i got the M3 deli sandwich with was pile high with corn-beef and pastrami with Swiss on rye. Their homemade Russian dressing is on pointttttt. The sandwich was amazing tons of meat tons of cheese which i loved.. they re not cheap on the cheese. I got the potato salad for a side which was great not a lot of mayo which i like and very flavorful. The prices are very reasonable, for four guys with apps, entrees and drinks our bill was around 70 bucks. absolutely would come back here. read more

**UPDATED AS OF 3/20/16 from 3/1/15 from a 4 star to 5** Initially, I was going to review this place before the renovations as I have been a regular in here for over a year. I decided to wait and I'm glad I did. Some of the reviews on here will disagree, however, since Murphy's overhauled their restaurant, their staff and kitchen team, this place is miles better than what it used to be. I mean MIILLLEEES! The atmosphere is more open and sunny, the revisions to the menu and how the food is made has taken on whole new skill, and the general mood around the restaurant seems much more energetic and lively. Highlights: Food: Pretty much any of the grinders and sandwiches. Ruben, Meatloaf and Chicken Parm is on point. Enough for 2 for those who have smaller appetites. Guinness Chili is nice, filling with just the right amount of flavor and spice. Shepard's pie is killer as well. Another point as well: Having worked in food service for 5 years, I can personally say these guys last night for St. Patties are absolute frekin champs! Not only did the get my order right (Turkey club, sub Mustard, Corn Beef and Coleslaw), but did so quickly, and made it perfectly. Well done guys! Beer: A solid collection of craft and local brews, as well as your more main stream selections. $3.50 Gansettes. Service: In my last review on 3/1 I mentioned the service was pretty iffy still, after headed there for St. Patties last night, I can say it's become vastly improved! In a sea of people, we were able to get a table of 2 on the spot for a St Pattys dinner. The bouncer/door man was extremely diligent and friendly about finding us a table quickly. Melissa our server was by far the quickest, friendliest, detailed, multi tasking champ of any server I have ever had here. She was a boss last night! Dislikes: Only thing I can say now to anyone in the area planning on coming in here for a weekend trip is this place is Ya Bro/PC Bro central. If you can't handle loud bars with drunk frats and pretentious snobs making grunting noises and yelling at TV screens because the sports ball team missed a field shot, don't go here. Other than that, party on Wayne. read more

The food was great and we had a fantastic server! The old town pub atmosphere was fun and we could still catch the game. Definitely a great stop! read more

The food is authentic and the ambiance is the same. It was a great experience and the service was quick and the staff was friendly. I would recommend the Reuben. I will be back. read more

Unbelievably delicious! Came here for lunch and ordered the chicken and gravy sandwich and an ice cold frozen margarita, chefs kiss. I ate my whole plate and the drank actually got me feeling pretty good which I didn't expect from a premixed drink. Great times had by all. read more

Went last Saturday before the Providence Bruins game. It was busy and they were understaffed, but my drink was never empty and the food was amazing. Great service! Sheppard's Pie and wings were outstanding! Irish poutine fries were also good. We will be back soon! read more

PC parents weekend made all the more special with our visit(s) here. Yes that is plural! Had beers with friends Friday night and then a fabulous lunch on Saturday. Turkey clubs and the French dip, along with the yummy Tayto chips right from Ireland made for a great way to spend the afternoon drinking off of kegs with College kids. Then we stopped by again for late night snacks - the Luna Reuben saved the night for these party parents. We loved taking with you Ruth! Eileen M. read more

Easily the best meal we had in town...most bang for the buck. ZERO hipster ennui ...great price and great food. To top that ALL off we had an absolutely fantastic waitress named Candiss ...knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu and funny as Hell. The chicken tenders were meaty , the bacon was thick , the corned beef was Irish...if you haven't tried this joint ....get yer asses over there! read more

I've been going to Murphy's for 20+ years and I have never tried a Reuben sandwich & oh my goodness, I've been missing out. I love the staff, the atmosphere and of course the amazing chef who always serves up top notch deliciousness. Thank you Murphy's for the continued safety procedures you have put in place durning covid world to stay open to keep our bellies full. read more

Spent a few days in Providence and gave this place a shot the last night we were in town. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, and the bartender Zeus, was also covering the dining area. We were told to sit wherever we wanted. Zeus was quick to come over to the table with menus and to take our drink order. Drinks arrived quickly and our food order was taken. I had the shepherds pie which was absolutely delicious! My wife had the steak tip salad. The food and the atmosphere was great! I do want to give a shout out to Zeus, the place filled up quickly and he was running around like a mad man. Always made sure our drinks were full. Would definitely go back! read more

Good if you want to watch a game and have a beer. If you are hungry, find another place. Saturday afternoon for lunch, It took 40 mins to get a seat, 10 minutes to get a menu after being seated, 15 mins to take drink order, 40 mins to get food. really slow and food is just ok. It's pub food. Came here a year ago and had the same issues. Decided to give it another try. Mistake. Downloaded yelp just to leave this review. Not sure why people go here. read more

We've ordered here twice due to Covid. When you need a Rubin fix, this is the place. A large variety of Rubin styles. If you want real pub food this is the place. I was concerned the Rubin might be soggy when it arrived, both times it was perfect. The poutine fries are just like we had in Montreal. Will be ordering here again. Can't wait to try the Shepard's pie. read more

Great spot for a brew. Wine selection not too good. Food is solid but nothing more. Keep it simple or eat elsewhere and drink here.

Worst service ever. Walked in before 1:30, ordered, still hadn't gotten food by 2:40 while other tables were served. Not only didn't they make it up to us but they charged us for drinks while apologizing, including making us pay for individual sodas. Only give these people money for food if the alternative is starvation, and even then death might be preferable. read more

I had not been to Murphy's in well over thirty years but it was certainly worth the wait! Over Thanksgiving weekend following the PC-Columbia University basketball I was lucky to dine at this fine establishment. What a delight! I had the "Luna Reuben sandwich" with a side order of tater tots. It could not have been any better. Quite possibly the best deli sandwich in the state of Rhode Island. Very nice atmosphere and great service as well. If you love outstanding delicatessen sandwiches, this is the place for you. read more

Stopped here before a Bruins Game. My husband and brother in law went in to grab a table while my sister in law and I unloaded the kids but alas, they don't seat until your full party has arrived. We didn't see a lot of parking so we had to walk over from the rink. The establishment was busy and under staffed (welcome to post COVID America) but we still had great service. The iced Irish coffee was to die for. They brew the coffee in the morning and let it chill, rather than pouring it hot over ice. The Reuben rolls were enormous! Like Reuben burritos. I ordered the seafood platter which was one large cod filet, beer buttered and fried to perfection, one large stuffed clam, the best clam chowder (chowdah?) I've ever tasted, and steak fries. They had malt vinegar and fresh cracked pepper on the table, just don't shake the pepper because the top is salt and... you can figure out what happens next. My husband ordered the Reuben which came with the option of tater tots, curly fries, or steak fries. He loved his curly fries! The Reuben was good but nothing special. The atmosphere was laid back and good for kids. They had coloring books, crayons, and it was loud enough for my niece to scream laugh or cry without disrupting the other tables read more

This is a spot a wanted to like. The atmosphere was nice and warm and inviting but that's where it ends for me. Service slow and less informative then anticipated. 10pm on a Wednesday about 15 peeps none of which were eating food. We waited 45 minutes to get food. I won't get into full details but they need kitchen help asap. Rating 3 based on atmosphere! Easily could have been a 1 or 2 on food. Service 3 read more

First time at Murphy's and was pleased. We were attending an early PC game and Murphy's is close to the AMP. Good sandwiches and attentive service. Sandwiches were huge with good fresh rolls. Will be back! read more

Great service with traditional Irish cuisine, Irish whiskies and local brews from New England. We came during an Easter weekend 2022, and saw more and heard Irish accents -- and indication that true locals gather here. The pub itself is one of the oldest in Providence, but also one that makes travellers very welcomed. read more

We had lunch here yesterday. Louis the wait staff was excellent. The food however gets a mixed review. I had the OG Burger with potato salad. The burger was a little overcooked but that was my fault for not requesting medium rare. I had the potato salad which was terrific! My partner's club sandwich was awful. It did have an abundance of well cooked bacon but that is where the good ends. The bread was barely toasted, the lettuce was old and the tomatoes were old end pieces. Very unappetizing. A big disappointment. Nice atmosphere, good service.. read more

This place is like an old pair of slippers...they fit great and theyre always there for you. Twiggy, amanda, tracy, melissa and everybody else are just top notch. The food here is SO GOOD! We tried several things and everything was fabulous. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that they were out of wings and fried pickles when we went. Wings was the main thing I was wanting to order. Other than that, great place! read more

First off we started with the Reuben Eggrolls, smelt and tasted like dog food. Then we waited and hour or so for our food. How long does it take to make a sandwich? apparently an hour. Came here for breakfast as trip advisor gives it 4 stars. guess again! ordered American breakfast, scrambled eggs looked like paper, sausage Pattie's were sour or bad, home fries were plain potatoes minus any spices or flavor. toast was cold, soda was flat. waited 20 minutes for service and 15 minutes for food. overall, lousy disappointing breakfast! I have been a line cook for 15 years at some really nice places in RI and take my advice, don't eat breakfast here. service was slow and bathroom was mostly clean. this is probably a great bar but the restaurant portion needs work for quality control. read more

Went for Full Irish Breakfast on St. Patrick's Day, as you should. 10:00am on a Sunday and the bar was already populated. Had a great big plate of really tasty food and a virgin Bloody Mary.
