On the recommendation of my friends I went to this restaurant on 9-22-2021. I ordered two calzones & the 5 cheese breadsticks. I specifically asked for no onions on one of the calzones and what I got is loaded with onions. On the breadsticks I asked for no goat cheese (who puts goat cheese on breadsticks anyway) What I got is covered in goat cheese! When I ordered I made sure the cashier knew I asked for no onions and no goat cheese. It was not a busy night so I don't understand how they messed up this badly! I gave 1 star because there is no option for anything lower!!! Would not recommend to anybody who read this. Never going back!! read more

The pizza is very good. However, our party received passive aggressive comments and bad facial expressions from who we are assuming is the owner. The other staff were happy, helpful and service oriented. I hate to lecture but restaurants are one of many service based businesses and if you treat people poorly, you need to check yourself. If you cannot behave in a service first manner, then remove yourself from interfacing with customers and be back of house/invisible to the customers. The restaurant is a pizza/cade style, where there's some arcade games, TVs playing sports, and very very low lighting. read more

I've been eating here for a long time as it is the only decent pizza in the area (not great, but passable). For this reason, I've tolerated the rude behavior from whom I assume is the owner? But after last night I will no longer be supporting this business. I was glared at when I got there, made to wait for service for five minutes while I could see that my pizza was out of the oven and waiting to be sliced ( I called ahead). I was glared at and not offered a response when I requested to change the channel on the TV (one other occupied table, don't see the issue). I was barked at when I ordered a beer they didn't have that they usually have (the kid charged me for a beer they didn't have). I was threatened when I requested to have my food to-go instead and for a refund for the beer, "you haven't SEEN barking" is what he said when I told him I didn't appreciate being barked at. The salad I ordered without olives came with extra olives. The poor kids that work there look terrified of the guy. Look, I don't know what this dude's problem is, but a pizza place is a service industry, and this one could stand to treat its customers better. Or maybe this guy should refrain from interacting with customers at all. I'll be sharing my experience with others so they might avoid situations like this in the future. Very rude! read more

Having had just about all of the pizza available on the HWY 4 corridor, they are the best. I don't understand why another shop down the hill gets the accolades but Murphys Pizza Co. is WAY better. Emily went out of her way to help our family with some nutritional needs. No way they are NOT the best we have up here. read more

After a long day and a last minute change of plans we ended getting a room at the Murphy's Inn(excellent place). The lady at the desk recommended Murphy's Pizza Co. So we booked it over just hoping that they would be kind enough to let us order because it was 20 minutes from closing. When we walked in there was a young man (with a mask on) cleaning the soda station. We asked him if they were still taking orders. He replied "yes". Due to a medical condition, I grabbed a chair to sit while we looked at the menu. A guy came to the register (we later found out was the owner wearing no mask), he stated "you know were closing soon". My sister proceeds to ask "are you still taking orders?" Clearly annoyed the owner responds with "Yea I'll make your order". So we order a Big R, and breadsticks. We also tried to order some wings to which the owner responded "that's a huge incovience". So we didn't order them. We were going to get soda as well but didn't want to inconvenience them to put the soda nozzles back on. Due to COVID and feeling bad I asked the Owner if I could clean the chair off for them because they had already cleaned them. He replied "well yea we're gonna have to clean it". But that is not what I said to him. We also notice the workers in the back had no masks on yet it there are signs on the door and inside saying to make sure masks are being used. We understand that we came in 20 minutes before you closed but you could have simply told us that you were no longer taking orders. Instead you treated like we were a huge inconvenience to you and we were bothering you even though your hours are until 9pm. On a side note: We would give the food a 5 star, but the sighing, huffing and puffing, and snooty treatment we give a 1. We would recommend the food but make sure your not a inconvenience. read more

Outstanding service complying with all the CDC Guidelines. The staff wore gloves and masks. No masks no service was the motto which applaud. The pizza was fabulous. If you want a place that has an abundance of toppings this is the place. It even has cauliflower pizza dough which upped the ante for me. I had artichoke, mushrooms, olives, garlic and buffalo mozzarella. The tomato sauce was rich and tangy. I cannot speak highly enough of this pizza establishment. Gluten-free crusts! Need I say more? OK, OK, I know most people don't need gluten-free pizza crusts. But for those who do -- Murphy's Pizza Company do them well. We had reservations for the "party" area tonight from 5-7p. I called at 4p to confirm the reservation and also placed our food order then so the pizza could be ready by 5p. We arrive at 5p and wait 10mins before I ask about the food. The cook tells us it'll be another 15 minutes. A little annoyed but we had beer and wine and quarters for kids to play so we waited. It's almost 5:40p and still no pizza so I go up to the counter and ask again. The 3 pizzas we ordered were boxed up and sitting on top of the oven waiting for pick up. So not only did they NOT check up on their ONLY dine in guests, who made reservations and ordered before arriving, pizzas sat there for an unknown amount of time. This was very disappointing. Pizza has always be good here and we've ordered take out many times. But this experience was upsetting and we probably won't be returning. Especially because we received no apology for any of their mistakes tonight. And we even tipped still because the tab was settled when I asked about the pizza at 5:10pm. read more

We each ordered a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was well-stocked and full of fresh produce. I love a good salad! We happily enjoyed our salads while waiting for our pizzas to be prepared. Even though the restaurant was busy, our food was prepared and brought to our table in a timely manner. The pizza was perfectly baked! The crust was crisp yet soft. I'm happy that the locals have more options for pizza than this place. I was staying in town and thought this place would be good. Mistake. - It took 40 minutes to get the food. When ordering there was no mention of a delay or that they were busy (the shop was deserted so maybe it was all take away). I had to ask twice for an ETA. - the pizza was mediocre. Barely above Little Caesar's but not in price. My friend and I were a bit surprised at how meh it was for the price. - there are a lot of children working there, which always concerns me. Do they want to be there or are they part of a family business and have no choice? None seemed happy to be there, nor did they seem to care about their job. - this place is loud, even when it wasn't very busy. The beer was cold. Murphy's Pizza was delicious!! Was recommended Mikes pizza since it was closer but gave this place a shot and it so worth the drive from Angels Camp. The workers were really nice and friendly! There was quite a wait since its made when ordered. We actually saw that many people actually ordered over the phone and then ate there so we will be doing the same next time. We ordered the combination pizza, the specialty pizza and a personalized pizza and we couldn't stop ourselves from finishing every slice. Definitely give this place! read more

Not worth the wait. We went there last night and it was a hour to hour and a half wait for food. Friends ordered pizzas and we ordered more sides beer and wine. After placing an order for wings for the group I was told that they had run out of wings an hour after I ordered. Good pizza with quality ingredients. We ordered a medium and large pizza to go, then drove back to our rental spot up Hwy 4 in Forest Meadows where we dropped them into the oven for a short time so we could setup a movie and get changed. That way, the pizza would still be piping hot while we relaxed the rest of the evening over good food and a movie. Everything worked without a hitch and that's partly due to the quality of food. We asked for thin crust and extra sauce and that's exactly what we received. This was our first time at Murphy's Pizza Co, so we asked if there was an ample of pepperoni put on the pizza to be sure it covered the whole thing. Sure enough, they did just that. Just to start, I've eaten here before and it was decent. I ordered today though 30 minutes before closing and Their pizza was disgusting and very undercooked. The owner said he "made it" himself (after I called) so there was "nothing wrong with it" and refused me a refund after one piece of a large. Whatever, but he literally refused to accept my soft complaint and offered no resolution to the issue. Secondly, they don't wear masks to "protect the public" behind the counter when their making their pizzas, so what's the point of then wearing a mask for the public up front, when they can sneeze, cough, spit, wipe their nose, touch their faces, and then make food? Great food, meh service? The kids working there were hustling and the three XL pizzas we ordered were delicious. The five cheese bread sticks were also great. The salad didn't look very appealing and the to-go container was barely half full but in the end, it was adequate. The only reason I would not return and the three stars was the older gentleman seemed cordial to the very loud group ordering yet another bottle but could not be bothered to even fake nice to me as I waited patiently to order.
