The outdoor patio was cute and shielded from traffic with high wall dividers. Food wasn't the highlight, but I would come back to try other dishes. White Chocolate Pistachio Martini $14 - Not too sweet, nor too strong, good flavors. Grilled Octopus $20 - Small portion, tender octopus. Chicken Wings $17 - 8 meaty wings, naked, skin was slightly crispy and caramelized. Salmon Poke Bowl $19 - Simple and straight forward salmon poke bowl. The fries were crispy and delicious. For our birthday celebration, they gave us a yummy brownie and ice cream with a little candle. Reservations can be made on Resy. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

Another great dinner at Foxtail!…read more We had to come back to try more of the menu, and this time we ordered: * Pork belly bruschetta: 5/10. Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. The pork belly, ciabatta, and balsamic were all good individually, but together the flavors just didn't work. It felt mismatched... * Colorado lamb kebab: 10/10. This is one of the more $$ entrées on the menu, but it's absolutely worth it. The portion was generous, the lamb was high quality, and the artichoke pesto paired really well with the rich, gamey flavor. The roasted pearl onions were a great addition too. I would definitely recommend this dish. * Foxtail paella: 8/10 flavorful orzo paella loaded with seafood. Definitely a sharing type of entree! Always a great time at Foxtail with great food and great service!

My cardiologist is probably going to be disappointed that I found this place. Lol…read more This is exactly the kind of local mom-and-pop spot I love. It's old school, no frills, and not trying to be some polished restaurant experience. You walk in, order at the counter, grab one of the barstools, and watch your food get made right in front of you. I got the gyro plate with fries and the portion was HUGE. Seriously, they do not mess around with the portions here. The food was fresh, really good, and honestly an incredible value for what you get. My only regret was not asking for extra tzatziki because there was a whole lot of gyro happening on that plate. If you're looking for great food, big portions, and a classic neighborhood spot without all the bells and whistles, this is definitely worth stopping by. It's all about the food here, and they do that part really well. I'll definitely be back, assuming my cardiologist approves.

I give it a 4.5 out of ten. One and done for me. So many better places in the area. Service wasn't very friendly and they do keep the small dining room clean at least.

In efforts get a trivia group going consistently, I've started going to Johnny's a few weeks back…read more It's still early days, but my experience thus far has been really good. The place is small and divey, but I think the $9 draft tag prevents it from actually being a dive bar. I do like the atmosphere. There's a small stage for musicians to perform and a kitchen that closes around 8pm during weekdays. Trivia night is on Wednesdays starting 7pm. Both times, I arrived little past 6pm and I seem to be one of the first ones there. The trivia crowd starts rolling in right around 7pm. Definitely get the sense that Wednesday night crowd is only there for trivia. Joe, who was there both times have been good to me. Can't say he's the most friendly person in the world, but he's one of those people who sorta grow on you the more you talk to him. Not sure if he's the owner or just the manager, but when I told him that I was in for the trivia and that it was my first time, he was super chill to explain the schticks. He also recognized me the second time around and was even more friendly than the first time. Steve, the host of the trivia was also a cool kat. I could immediately tell that 6-or-so teams that were there for trivia were all regulars and that my group was the newcomers. Steve definitely acknowledged that we were new and was super attentive and cool towards our group. I definitely appreciated that. Second time I was there, which was a few weeks later, he still remembered me and made small talks. Sign of a good trivia host, if you ask me. As mentioned before, I think the drinks are on a steeper side. This may be because the trivia I used to go back in Toledo had $5 - $6 beers on tab and that I'm not accounting for inflation and or the city taxes. But still, a tiny resentment over paying twice as much for same number of beers exists for me. Truth of the matter is that I'm still having a good time kickin' it with friend-lleagues, so the beer tag probably won't bug me as much. Still yet to get a crowd more than 3 of us going, but I'm slowly working my way up. I like the vibes, the trivia and its host, and their food--though not cheap.
