This has been my go-to spot for ordering delivery. I guess they recently changed management, and I have to say that everything is even better than it was! Food arrives quickly and is still piping hot. I get the chicken vindaloo (spicy and full of flavor) as well as the veggie samosas (super crunchy/nicely fried on the outside and the filling itself is delicious). I live in the neighborhood and we ordered take out from here a few years ago -- it was fine -- not brilliant and no better than any place around; the food felt tired. We stopped by again when we saw that they were under new management and, that they now have dosas. Which I crave and which aren't available any old where. They also have a few new dishes including some southern Indian specialties. I actually can't speak to the current quality of the old dishes on the menu as we just ordered new things. The dosa is quite good. It's not the best dosa in the city but it's the best (and only) dosa in the immediate neighborhood and well worth your dosa attention. We also had the Veggi Tika Masala and the Lamb Chettinad both of which which were good and fresh tasting. We will definitely be coming back. read more

A friend and I were looking for a lunch spot in the area and decided on something else. However, when we arrived there the place was closed so we opted for Indian instead. It was actually a blessing in disguise! The service was great and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was a little sweeter than I'm used to, but it was still flavorful and delicious. The menu was reasonably priced and full of options. Ordered in. The food was atrocious. Samosas were stale and bland. Chicken tikka kebab (not Masala) was floating in a thin sauce. It's a kebab it should never be in any sauce. Saag paneer and Lamb Bhuna were equally tasteless. There are other options in the area that are better and definitely cheaper. Not sure why this place charges more than its local competitors. Or why anyone pays the extra price. This is the second time I've tried them. Never again. read more

This place has changed the ownership, the chef and its menu (finally! Thank you!) so that we thought to give it a second chance. I went to India last year and had some amazing Indian food. I am glad to see the menu consists of some authentic options, some i am not familiar with. I had a Dosa, it's a thin crepe wrapped with veggies, potatoes and cheese. My husband had a combo dish that gave us a taste of a saag, korma and a spicy entree. Both of our dishes are delicious and fresh. Owner and his wife greeted us warmly. These guys are jerks. The takeout menu they have as give aways at the front of the restaurants states clearly they offer a 20% discount on take out or pick up if you call them directly (instead of ordering on seamless and having them take a cut), my friends and I ordered for pickup and even mention the discount on the phone, the guy sounded shady and said yes, yes, I'll give you a good price when you come and then when my friend came to pick up he refused to honor it, claimed he didn't know what she was talking about and was just a shady mofo. Since we were all starving she paid full price and got the food, which was totally greasy and mediocre so clearly in order to save themselves about $15 those guys have lost 5 customers for life. My first and last time ordering for sure. The service was nice and delivery was on time. I ordered garlic naan and saag paneer. The saag paneer was bland. There wasn't enough salt. I had to throw it out. If it was possible I would have asked for a refund but I paid cash. Definitely had better food than this! read more

A delicious Indian cuisine oasis nestled on Vanderbilt Ave! Perhaps I was a bit spoiled because I was introduced to the restaurant by a beloved neighborhood regular... the food was absolutely divine! I ordered the mushroom saag/shag and requested it be prepared spicy (off the menu)-- truly one of the most delicious vegetarian Indian meals I have had since residing in New York. 'Roman', the owner/floor manager, was so gracious and kind! The restaurant aesthetic is warm and swathed in deep purples and oak furnishings... service timing was stellar-- the restaurant even boasts a wine and beer selection which is outside the norm for most Indian restaurants! I look forward to trying the special tandoori dishes on my next visit. Terrible service and terrible food. I called in an order for vegetable samosas and saag paneer and was told it would arrive in a little more than a half hour, but it took an hour and a quarter. The food was lukewarm and had to be reheated. The samosa were tasteless, and at first I thought the saag paneer was just bland and watery, and decided to put it away and doctor it tomorrow. But after I stopped eating I realized it had left a foul taste in my mouth and I had to brush my teeth to get rid of it. The food, and the menu for this place, are going in the trash. read more

Unprofessional and Beyond disappointed. Order got cancelled after more than an hour wait by the restaurant without notification. Spoke to the shop manager and was told it was out of service area and Seamless cancelled my order. And I knew this is not true being that I still got charged by seamless and spoke to Seamless rep and clarified that the restaurant lied and told my order wasn't cancelled. If I don't call seamless I will still get charged without knowing. If this is what you call customer service you will never success. read more

This restaurant's delivery menu has helped us get through Covid. The Chicken Tikka Masala is scrumptious, the Fish Saag is a delight, and there are many excellent vegetarian dishes with interesting flavors like Malai Kofta or "vegetable balls." The food arrives fast and hot by motorbike. We live a few neighborhoods away, but we get our delectable Indian dinners faster from Mumbai Palace than from restaurants closer to her home. read more

The food is good, I think they changed the owners though ... some things in the menu are not available. The service was a little poor... we were having dinner and you could see people in the kitchen eating, it was an employee, or the delivery guy but still didn't look clean, he was wearing the jacket from outside..., then, they took trash out right in the middle of dinner time... we were the last table but still... I took a three bites and had to stop. The lack of effort and flavor was silly. The dish looked and tasted like they opened a can of tomato sauce and placed slightly warmed cheese inside: completely bland, and insulting served on a this double slotted plate. I usually would just plow through and eat whatver trash was placed in front of me so as to not waste food, but the price-to-quality ratio was so out of proportion that I had to stop--I just could not sactify the bastardized mess. I ended up going to the deli next door and getting a bag of chips; not before paying my $16 bill of course. read more
