I have recently started trying to go vegetarian. At the recent Maui Film Festival, Mulligan's had a tent, and they offered BMB (Beyond Meat Burger ~ vegetarian) on the menu! Yay! They're the latest craze right now, I've been trying them BMB's wherever they're offered. I was pleased to see it in Mulligan's menu! I noticed they've been offering more vegetarian choices recently. So I had them twice at the Film Festival and thoroughly enjoyed them! But I must say, the bread tasted stale. Maybe from the heat in the tent? Yesterday we went to the Mulligan's restaurant... I wanted more BMB! I had it with no bread, and had salad on the side. The burger was a bit dry, pretty tasteless (disappointed). It tasted like something from the freezer, microwaved to thaw, and did a quick fry on the pan. The salad had no dressing (I wasn't given a choice), server forgot? Ididn't want to make a fuss, they were pretty busy that night. Maybe I'll make sure I go at a quiet time next time. read more

I've been coming here for 15 yrs but this place has been changing somewhat. Happy hour has changed with the hours and discounts as well as menu choices. But it's a great place for a pint, Guinness of course, and watching the game. They also have live music which is fun, but some have a hefty cover charge. It's a small venue so I guess you get up and personal with whoever's performing but because of the close residential area they must stop before 10pm. Food is decent, my usual is the shepherd's pie which i like to share with a friend and fill up on beer. I love the Finnegans pie, a lovely dessert with peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla ice cream, what's not to love? What a great restaurant!! Best fish and chips I have ever had. Others in our group said their fish tacos were also the best. The service, food and drinks were all outstanding. So disappointed. I'm a longtime North Shore Maui resident, getting to stay on the south side for a weekend so finally got to go to Mulligan's to see the Celtic Tigers and eat some Irish food. I was very excited and pre-planned my ordering by looking at the menu on the website showing my whole family too. I wish I had read the reviews here. The SLOW service is definitely a REAL trend. It took several minutes to be greeted and get seated, then 20 minutes later, a server noticed we were still sitting there with no one taking even a drink order. When the server did return, we immediately ordered because we had waited 35 minutes (I truly do not know why we didn't leave except that the Celtic Tigers were playing and they were pleasant enough.) The server took our orders-my daughter's first choice of potato tacos is no longer being served. She suggested the kid's burgers for my kids because they came with sundaes. Kids' eyes lit up. We thought it might be okay. She came back about 10 minutes later and asked what drinks we had ordered. 10 more minutes until 1 very weak cocktail, 1 ginger ale and 1 terrible fruit punch arrived. 10 more minutes and the server came back to say that they no longer offer the chicken fried steak-my husband's order. Seriously? Seriously. During all this time waiting we saw people just sitting as well. Several had to go to the bar to pay their tab. The vacated table behind us during all this time was never cleared. An hour later, kids' burgers finally arrived. Never an ask if we needed anything else, no apology for being so long. I asked the man who brought the kids' food why it was so slow. He pretended not to hear me 3 times and then was rude in his answer saying that there were only 2 servers and 2 called in sick. There were only about 13 tables! Even if there were only 2 servers, the employees could have been apologetic, helpful, sincere, but nothing. On top of that, the Celtic Tigers stopped playing because they were having some kind of technical difficulty. Next came my husband's salad-he chose not to replace the entree because of our poor experience so far. My food came out last. I was worried the guy might have spit in it because he was mad at me for asking about the slowness. I was at least likely punished with my food being brought last because I had the nerve to ask. I had ordered the bangers and mash=watery mashed potatoes, frozen peas and Johnsonville sausages-I know exactly what those taste like. There was no Irish authenticity to be found. It tasted like school lunch. When my food came we asked for the check too. My daughter asked for mustard-no mustard nor kids' sundaes arrived nor ever mentioned again. We left EXTREMELY disappointed and dissatisfied. The server did at least say she took care of our drinks because of the wait but she couldn't get away fast enough. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the music. We will never go back. I hope all of these reviews will ring true to the owners. At least we didn't drive all the way from the North Shore to come out to dinner at Mulligan's. By the way, we drove through McDonald's and got our kids some sundaes and apple pies. $5.34, well worth it. read more

2017 WEEK 16 12/24/17 Mulligans on the Blue is a solid place to go for NFL Sundays. When I contacted them earlier in the season, they informed me that they open a half hour before kickoff. However, today, their doors did not open until 7:49 am. A staff member told me that the bartender is running late, but she was still able to bring me water, place my food order and allow me to choose my seat for the day. The bartender showed up right at 8 and then within three minutes helped to get sound on for one game. There are 8 TVs surrounding the bar. Unfortunately, 1 of them was not working due to water damage. The bartender asked which game I wanted since I was the first person there, and I just responded that I wanted as many games on as possible. I guess that doesn't hold much weight there, as there were two TVs with the same game on. I tried to have one changed to one of the missing games but she wouldn't do it. So, instead of seeing 8 games at once, we are now down to 6. So, even though they have the NFL package, viewing was somewhat limited. The service was otherwise friendly, personable, and very aware of food and drink needs. I felt comfortable with the bar seating, as well as the open air restaurant. The vibe here was much more mellow than the last time I was here. There was an OK number of people but most were fairly quiet. The food here is amazing. First off, for breakfast, their Breakfast Burrito ($12) is a must, and likely the best on island as everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I also placed an order for the Corned Beef Hash ($12), which was also very nice. Mulligans, surprisingly also has some of the best Chicken Wings ($12) on Maui. Their BBQ flavor is incredible, and their Spicy is also very nice. The Burger on the Blue ($15) was good, and steak fries was a bonus. I added Bacon ($2), Mushrooms ($1), and Avocado ($1). Pizza is not available here. I consider Mulligans having one of the best happy hours on Maui, as it is 33% off of their entire food and drink menu from 2 pm until 5 pm. For NFL Sundays, their Bloody Marys ($6) are on discount and are short and strong. Mimosas ($6) are also on special. Coors Lite 16 oz is $4. There is also a daily draft special for $5. There is no Kama'aina discount available. Overall, Mulligans on the Blue is a legit place for football. 2018 Week 3 9/23/18 Doors were open a half hour before kickoff this time, which is great! While still a great football spot, unfortunately their "too good to be true" happy hour is no longer. They still do provide some great specials though. The current happy hour specials include; $5 draft beer, Mai Tai, select wine and whiskey. There are also eight $8 food items that include wings, tacos, coconut shrimp and fish n chips. Today was a birthday lunch and our favorite Rueben Sandwich. Food did not disappoint! Very tasty. And although online the menu showed onion rings, our waitress said they no longer serve them. So sad. But to my amazement the kitchen prepared them anyway--today no charge! Now comes the hard part! The service was sadly poor. In defense of a single waitress I'd say it wasn't necessarily her fault; however, one order of Shepard's Pie and three orders of Rueben Sandwich came out to our table in spurts. The Pie and 2 sandwiches arrived and then a long uncomfortable waiting time for the third sandwich. I mean we were all nearly done when the last sandwich finally arrived! And this was after asking where was the last sandwich! If the place had been packed I could see a problem. It was not. Inside 4 tables had customers and possibly 2 tables outside. Had a perfect view of the stage while sitting outside on the patio. Best of both worlds! While I was there, I also ordered the Chopped Salad and the Vegetable Spring Rolls. Both were very tasty! Atmosphere - It is a small place with most of the seating outside, normally not a big deal but tonight there were light sprinkles. Nothing to ruin the night. The crowd seemed much older than us for. Food - Drinks - Kilkenny Irish Draught which is a cream ale, it was okay. Meal - I had the corn beef, dry and bland is the best way to describe it. Service - I went to bar to verify what Kilkenny they had on tap, there are several types. It was the one I thought and the bartender saw my interest and gave me a sample to go back to the table. Out of all of the places to really feel the party on Maui, Mulligan's is the spot. Great drinks, lots of happy people, TVs everywhere you look, live entertainment and good food. We had so much fun hanging out and talking with the locals. They were celebrating in true Scottish style with bagpipe players marching through playing loudly. It was really fun. Unfortunately, I had to bump this fun place down to three stars because of the one grumpy bartender who kept forgetting our drinks and then snapped at me when I asked after an extended period of time if he had forgotten our food order. He growled, "115 people all ordered fish and chips at the same time." This was a slight exaggeration since there was only about 40 people in the bar at the time and most of them already had food. An hour and a half later we get our order of fish & chips. It wasn't because they were too busy making them for all of the orders. He forgot to get them. The other bartender finally noticed that we had never gotten our food, got an order from the kitchen and took it off of our tab. I will say that when we finally got the food, it was good. Will we go back? Hell yeah! It was a totally fun place. We'll just make sure to order from the other two bartenders instead of the grumpy, forgetful one. read more

My first time here was last weekend. I came for an event with friends a little skeptical of what the place might be like. I was pleasantly surprised. Parking was very easy, and lots of spots are available. The atmosphere was chill, and the big wall on the sides open up to make you feel like you are almost outdoors. They also have plenty of outdoor seating available. Our waiter was very friendly, and prompt. I found myself not needing anything as it was always taken care of even though we had a rather large and hectic group. The cocktails were very yummy, and they didn't slack on the alcohol! I ordered the Emerald Isle Salad with charred pineapple, candied mac nuts, and a lilikoi dressing. It was fantastic! I found myself wanting another. I love how they have many vegetarian items on their menu, and lots of comfort food with an Irish twist. I missed the potato leek soup, so I will return for that for sure. We stayed and watched the band Soul Kitchen all while chatting with Guy Fieri at the bar! All in all I think it is a great place for happy hour, dinner, or a show. read more

First of all Willie K is amazing and that was the reason we went to Mulligans to see him. He did not disappoint and never does. He's a wonderful performer! We pray for his health and are impressed with his perseverance! The food and service were bad. They had clearly run out of food as it took forever to get our main course. Our portion was half of what the table next to us was served a half hour earlier. "Surf and turf" was corned beef with an unknown fish. The mashed potatoes were raw. The appetizer tasted like frozen spring rolls that had been microwaved. The dessert tasted like instant pudding. Very sad for $75 per person. Willie k worth every penny though hope that he was paid handsomely and that mulligans did not get much for that meal The venue was overcrowded and very warm Service terrible. This place is located at the hill of Wailea. The view is absolutely gorgeous and it's a presentable Irish dive with plenty of outdoor seating over a nice lush green view and ocean next to the golf course. One of my favorites is the live band and relaxed yet a little casual/trendy atmosphere. Went here during happy hour and they make a nice and tasty Mai Tai. We ordered: -Mulligans Chicken Wings spicy bbq chicken wings -Cajun seared ahi Tuna with wasabi and pickled ginger -Potato Taquitos salted cabbage, avocado, chili lime sauce fried -Calamari sweet and spicy chili aioli -Chicken quesadilla grilled peppers, onions, chicken and pepper jack -Mini fish and Chips Everything came out at the same time and the waitresses/host/water boy were all very attentive and great customer service. Food quality was excellent and tasty. Not the ordinary happy hour typical low quality food. Prices are so inexpensive for happy hour and in Maui. Will come back here for dinner/lunch when I make another trip back to Maui. Plenty of parking and free parking. They do get really busy. So stop by soon! read more

This was my first time at Mulligans and I was excited to try it out. Located in stunning Wailea on the golf course with the sunset just off in the distance. There's lots of parking and the grounds are beautiful. Friday night was buzzing with folks out and about and ready for some grub. There was local music (Soul Kitchen) setting up to play. There was plenty of seating available for dinner which was really nice. We were seated close so we could watch while we ate. The food was good... Potato Leek Soup and a spinach salad with grilled shrimp really hit the spot. I literally wanted to lick the bowl... but I know my limits of eating in public. I was not crazy about the bread that we paid extra to have with our soup. It was dark bread and super dry. But I mopped up my soup with it and made it work. The vibe at Mulligans is really fun and diverse. Both locals and tourists seemed to be having a really good time. Food was tasty, the staff was pleasant and the view/music was wonderful. read more

My husband and I did our wedding here last year by doing a buy-out, and it was spectacular. We had 4 goals for our wedding: 1. GREAT food (We did the "surf and Turf" and people are STILL talking about how amazing the food was. And I ate EVERYTHING, and I don't even like fish!) 2. Alcohol (Its a bar ;-) 3. DJ and dancing (we hired DJ Dan, on reference from Julie, the wedding coordinator. He was wonderful) 4. Beautiful Pictures. This Irish bar is a unique twist to the usual Wailea bars and restaurant. With a delicious variety of Irish beers, local brews, and everything else domestic and imported - there are plenty of options for everyone. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the variety on the menu. My personal favorites are the chicken quesadilla and Caesar salad though, my friends ALWAYS order the bbq wings and can't stop raving about them. Two huge bonuses of Mulligans is 1. The amazing view overlooking the ocean and 2. The phenomenal live music and shows that they host on the regular. Ignore the fact that it's on a golf course because it's a very casual Irish bar and grill with great sunset views. Their happy hour is 100% worth checking out. Make it before 6pm and you can get discounts on tons of drinks as well as meals. It's oddly hard to find reasonably priced fresh caught fish on the island, but I was able to get their catch of the day Cajun fish tacos for only $8 (during happy hour). Three tacos w/ Big chucks of fish that tasted great! They have a lot of varying live bands and specialty nights, so it's worth looking into their website. Will definitely be back! read more

We went to see John Cruz perform live at a dinner show. We didn't realize till after that it's actually an Irish pub. As we know those Irish know how to party! Entertainment was great. We ran into family friend who were also enjoying the evening out. I had a 3 course meal that started off with a salad. We then had a surf and turf meal with a New York steak, grilled salmon and scallop potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly and salmon was very tasty. Husband and I came here on our honeymoon for the Willie K show on Feb 6, 2019. Willie K was definitely worth the money! Such a delight to see and great show. However, the food wasn't the greatest. It was a 3 course meal with a selection from 3 starters, only one entree selection which is unfortunate for people who can't eat seafood like myself. I would think they would have a land and ocean type entree selection separately instead of just one plate. The meat was very tough and a little dry- not worth the money spent. We came here to see Uncle Willie. The dinner was delicious! Service was great as well. The house was packed and they still got everyone served their 3 course meals. It is a beautiful place. There was a full bar inside, we sat on the patio but had a good view of the stage. I kicked back a few of the mango miles on special that night with part of the proceeds going to Uncle Willie. This is a review for Mulligans for a private wedding event. Let me start off by saying that getting married in Maui was a destination wedding for me as I reside in Las Vegas. The venue itself and the location are amazing. It's on a golf course and the views are stunning. After having my wedding here, I will list the PROS and the CONS. PROS: -Working with Kristen was great -Location is amazing -Views are stunning -Food was great (buffet style) -Cost effective for Maui -Tara (waitress) was awesome -Are not required to hire a wedding planner CONS: -The on site coordinator Shasta is terrible. Doesn't respond to emails or texts in a timely fashion. (Over a week or two before getting any response) -Over an hour late to a scheduled meeting to tour the venue and wasn't really prepared for the meeting and confusion on where the ceremony was to take place. -not professional - was supposed to be the day of coordinator on wedding day but only saw her in the beginning before the wedding and then at the very end when payment was due. - told her I needed a speaker and mic for ceremony and she forgot to charge it so my officiant had to really project his voice since the ceremony was outside with about 75 people in attendance. I did reach out to Kristen and the owner in reference to the behaviors listed and they talked to her but nothing really changed. If at the time I wasn't so close to the wedding day, I would have legit canceled. I would recommend this venue but only if they get a different on site coordinator. I understand that coordinators can get busy and such but it's simply unacceptable to not respond or take days/ weeks to do so. All I needed was communication and for her to do her job. read more

Live band on Sunday nights, which are cool, but food is bad bar food. We had the late night menu, and maybe they just reheat things from earlier in the night, because what we had was not good. We had the sliders and spinach and artichoke dip, and I'm not sure how you mess up either, but we pushed away our food. So go, have fun, drink some beers, but eat before hand or stick to something easier that what we got (not sure how possible that is). I guess I should note it did ACTUALLY have some people in the bar drinking. Well I was disappointed to start since I was deciding between the corned beef or the Ruben and they informed us that neither was available since they were having a show this evening. This left me with a hard decision to make. I went ahead and ordered the shepherds pie. This is surprisingly delicious. Shortly after our food came out they said they had enough for a Ruben and would give us one on the house. Others in my party received the chicken quesadilla which is comparable to Applebee's, the Gannon's burger and the nachos. Being there at 5 in the evening ment we got to enjoy happy hour prices which sadly were less than the kids menu prices. When the Ruben came out it was well worth it. But let me just say that they would have received 3 stars if they did not offer the Ruben but 4 stars if they let us know that corned beef was not available when we sat down. We made a Wailea Restaurant Week visit last night. Had an excellent time. The corn beef and cabbage Wellington starter was remarkable. Great flavors, shows how talented the chef is. It alone was worth the visit. We both had the blackened mahi mahi on penni pasta with an excellent tomato sauce. Good size mahi mahi, way too much pasta - a great dish. Dessert was basically a chocolate sundae fancied up. NIce, but didn't match the rest of the meal. And Kilkenny on tap! That was a treat. I consumed 3 drinks. a Mai Tai, a pint of Long Board Lager and a can of Bikini Blonde Lager, while sampling the Buffalo wings and the Ahi Tuna. I enjoyed everything and service was pretty good. The Happy Hour Prices are alright for Waliea standards. Sitting outside on a beautiful day, while enjoying the epic views- this was an enjoyable hour and twenty minutes. There is nothing liked Buzzed swimming & after my happy hour, I sure did enjoy my dip in the ocean. I ended up coming back a second time at 9:45 in the morning to watch a soccer match.
