Had a Dell laptop that was about 3 years old and was not performing in any way it should have been. I tried fixing and replacing the DC Jack myself. That's another story, a fail to say the least. I searched for a repair shop and came across MRO and boy am I glad I did! I was very skeptical and weary about someone possibly trying to take advantage of me (money wise). Mike was very friendly, patient, likeable and even more knowledgeable and helpful. He took a look at my laptop and we discussed and laughed at my subpar repair attempt. He advised me about what I should do based on what I'd be using the computer for. So many things wrong with my laptop I thought I'd have to just get a new one. I was drawn in here by the title, what is this store about Computers & Astronomy!?! They build all of their own computers here! Bonus if you have very specialized needs, for some people a custom build is really the only way to go. Sooooo many telescopes. Gorgeous. You can't touch them though. Put your hands in your pocket if you have a self control issue :-) I was greeted, asked if I needed any help. When I declined assistance I was told that if I did end up needing help he would be right over to assist. I saw bags of assorted screws for sale $5 each. Computer time can be purchased in 10 minute increments $5 for 30 minutes. There is a zerox copy machine here. And an area with a cutting board and assembly items for putting together reports etc. There is also a sitting/couch area and a few toys around. I saw a few kids playing on computers. Terrible! I went in to have a virus removed and they wiped out the entire hard drive and did not back up the files---even though I paid extra to have this done. They charged almost $100 more than the quoted price of $180 and were a week late in the delivery time. I was better off with the virus. I would have saved money, kept my files and would not have had to reinstall everything. Jerks. read more

I wouldn't take a broken pencil to these guys. I went in and told them of the problems I was having, after 2 days they said it was my main hard drive that was the culprit and they could replace it for $320 on top of the $45 I paid them to look at it. Two weeks later all the original issues were back! When I called them they said it would take more money to fix the same problems I went in with. When I pointed this out to them they said they had customers and had to go. Go anywhere but to these guys! read more
