shrimp tempura roll the size of my palm!
Julie P.

This was not a good experience for me. Ordered for delivery thru Uber eats and all three rolls were packed into one round aluminum container. The avocado was hard as a rock , the rice was stale and just not a pleasant taste. Not for me

Really gross sushi. Sweet warm rice. Barely any fish in spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls.

Salmon Lovers Combo
Matt H.

Small dining area with seating for maybe 20 people tops. I popped in after a hike and got the salmon lovers combo which was really good. The waitress was very friendly and service was fast. It was just me and two other people eating. Lots of pick up orders. Prices are very reasonable with the special rolls being in the $13 range, with most other places charging upwards of $20. My salmon lover combo was $17 and included 2 pieces of sashimi, 2 sashimi and a salmon cucumber roll. Overall I was very happy with my experience and the salmon was tasty. I would recommend and stop by again when I'm in the area.

Miso Soup

The food was s very authentic and delicious. I got the Chicken Katsu Bento Box Special which was amazing. They were able to switch out the California Roll for the Chicken tempora roll. There was a price difference but it was not to bad. Service is a little bit slow. If you are in a rush be prepared to wait for a little bit. The ambiance is nice. A small interment location. If you are in the area definitely a good place to visit. Out in the area for work. Would go back when in the area.

Mountain Fuji Roll

Just went here for lunch... the place is super small but it was really cozy and the waitress was awesome, so friendly and attentive. I have to say this is some of the best Japanese food I've ever had. We didn't really get sushi, my friend got the salmon poke appetizer and enjoyed it, I got teriyaki wings, sauce on side, they were amazing! Then I got a no rice roll, the Mountain Fuji roll, quite possibly one of the best rolls I've ever eaten, it was so delicious. My friend got the tuna sandwich but subbed salmon, omg another amazing delight, so good. There's only one problem, I love a half an hour away!!! Trying to figure out how/ when I can go back. Try it, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

The walls are lined with photos of people who have visited. The staff experience was fast and friendly. A very relaxed and easygoing atmosphere. The sushi itself, we had Family Roll, Salmon Sushi, Black Dragon Roll, Naruto Roll, Miso Soup, complimentary Crab Tempura. The rolls were all good and definitely good choices. A worth it stop if you're in the area. Not amazing, but definitely very good. Grades: Family Roll: A Salmon Sushi: B Black Dragon Roll: B Naruto Roll: B Miso Soup: A Complimentary Crab Tempura: B+

No mackerel, snapper, fluke, bass, uni, ikura, scallop, etc.). But in the immediate Haskell/Wanaque/Ringwood area this is definitely the best sushi restaurant around. And they have bubble tea! The people here are very nice (the hostess I'm usually greeted by is super sweet), and they often give you little treats and samples on the house. Props to the good quality wasabi as well, as my pet peeve is bland wasabi that has no kick!

Double Ai is one of the most reliable places in the area when it comes to Asian cuisine. I have…read morebeen here many times and am yet to be disappointed. My personal favorite is the Ten Ingredient Noodle Soup, which always manages to fill me up. I also recently tried the General tso chicken which was coated in a delicious sauce. Overall a great family run business with kind owners, tasty eats, and a beautiful view.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had…read more Let me start by saying this is no longer a BYOB restaurant, despite giving every impression that it still is. There is no clear notice that they now have a liquor license, yet they charge a $10 corkage fee per bottle--or require one drink per person to waive the fee. This feels misleading from the start. After a long and frustrating discussion with our waitress--who couldn't clearly explain the policy--a man (who never identified himself as a manager or in any official role) came over. Even after more back-and-forth, the policy remained unclear until we were told definitively: one drink per person to waive the cork fee. By that point, we had already purchased a drink. We decided to stay, as we've dined here many times before without issues. Unfortunately, things only got worse. We specifically asked for our appetizers and entrees to be timed separately. Instead, our main courses arrived while we were still halfway through our appetizers. Then came the biggest issue: the beef teriyaki. The meat was inedible--extremely undercooked, with a bloody taste and raw interior. We immediately stopped eating and called the waitress over. She told us, quite confidently, that it was filet mignon. It absolutely was not. We asked to speak again with the same gentleman. When questioned, he immediately contradicted her and said it was not filet mignon--but then admitted he didn't know what cut of meat it actually was. He went to the kitchen and came back still unable to identify it, only saying it was "beef." At that point, offering us ice cream as compensation felt almost insulting. We asked for the dish to be removed from the bill. Instead, the waitress returned with three cups of vanilla ice cream--and the charge for the dish was still on the bill. We paid and left, including a 20% tip for the waitress, as the issues seemed more systemic than entirely her fault. Be advised: this is not a BYOB restaurant anymore, and based on this experience, I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution.

Solid local sushi spot with a chill vibe…read more Sushi and Sashimi Special ($75) - This party platter comes with 12 pieces of sushi, 18 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece spicy tuna naruto roll, and 6 piece california roll. I think it would be enough to feed 2 people, but if you have more than that, you probably want to order another roll or two. Everything here was pretty good. The fish seemed average freshness. The naruto roll was unique with cucumber around the outside, though the tuna was not really spicy. I specifically thought the sea bream (white fish) sashimi was good, as it had a creamy taste and consistency. Julie Roll ($15) - This roll was delicious, with a nice combo of yellowtail, salmon, and tuna in one roll. In addition, there was mango for some sweetness, avocado, and cucumber in there. It was topped with red fish eggs and had a soy wrapper around it, which made it a little unique. Beauty and Beast Roll ($15) - This is sort of a 2-in-1 roll, as half of the pieces have tuna on top and half have avocado on top. There is also shrimp tempura inside along with cucumber and eel. Another tasty roll. The restaurant has a very chill vibe inside. There were a couple others dining in as well for Sunday lunch. The staff are super friendly and even gave us a side of edamame on the house. The service speed was pretty quick. Overall, if you are in the mood for some sushi (either dining in or take-out), I think Nigiri Sushi would be a very good option, particularly if you are in the Franklin Lakes area.
