Get the platter! Get the Platter!!!! So came today and I got the lamb platter and it was delicious and huge. Definitely a must get. I liked how the rice is so flavorful. I bought my friends a long with me and they all agreed that food is pretty good here. The wrap is somewhat messy. The platter is very big. There are multiple Mr Shawarma in downtown. If you work downtown then there is a high chance there is one close to you. Luckily the mall is close by. So we picked it up and just walked to Pacific Center food court. Sometimes, I take it back to the office. read more

had the falafel saj which was pretty good since i like both of those things (8/10), the chicken shawarma wrap felt overly tahini-ed without much flavour (3/10) and also didn't come with fries inside despite what yelp told me overall 4 stars considering its a dt van food truck. but rather japadog read more

Mr Shawarma - Menu as of January 2023 - Middle Eastern Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

The best bang for your buck food cart. Mr. Shawarma has a restaurant in Kits and this review is on their new food cart location downtown. A quick, hot and delicious lunch for $6 including tax is hard to beat. The pita wrap came with chicken, garlic sauce, diced cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, Tahini sauce and fries all wrapped together. 5% of the meat tasted a little dry so if they can omit the drier pieces then this would have been close to perfect. I'm also not a huge fan of the fries in the pita wrap as well so I would probably ask them to hold the fries next time. (got too soggy) Other than those minor details, the chicken was juicy and I walked away with a happy belly. read more

I ordered the Grilled Pita Wrap With Falafel: I have a lot of food allergies & end up eating vegan/plant-based most of the time & not only were Abir & Jani able to accommodate my food allergies, they also served me the best tasting falafel & best spiced chick peas I have ever eaten!!! On top of that, Abir & Jani went above & beyond to pick out all the tiny cubed cucumbers from the pre-mixed vegetable salad that they put on top of all of their sandwiches & dinners because I said I don't like cucumbers!!! Plus they fold the pita & the paper wrapping in such a way that it's the only pita wrap I've ever eaten that didn't leak or spill at all!!! If you're looking for a healthy & mouth-wateringly delicious meal: eat here You can even eat while you walk with no problems! read more

To be honest, I had no idea what a shawarma until I walked into this place. Parking here is pretty horrendous, as this is Hipster Land. The interior is a bit curious looking. Looks like something you'd find inside a haunted house. Just a bit creaky, but it's clean. One word of warning: it is HOT in here. Think of the restaurant as one giant kitchen. The heaters for the meat vent directly into the dining area. You will break a sweat. Oh yeah, the place was also deserted in terms of sit-in. So you can probably throw an entire party, while watching the TV attached to the back wall. The food is quite reasonably priced, at $6.49 for a chicken shawarma. Most other dishes go up to about $8. If you get any item, soup is $2 on top. Not bad. The guy was really nice and let me cram my shawarma full of all these different toppings, with no limit. This was a good idea until I realized that water was coming out of the salads. Soaked my hand. Totally my fault. The guy also told us that of the soups, the lentil is homemade while the minestrone is purchased. So, go for the lentil. The soup actually was pretty good. There is this really awesome (non-alcoholic) malt drink called Barbican here. Look for the bottles with Arabic written all over. I had a raspberry one and it was freaking good. Then again, it was also $2.50. Lastly, the washroom here is clean as a whistle. Special mention here. The food is tasty and the service is a bit slow (this 1 guy has to do everything, can't blame him), but the food is a pretty good deal, as it will fill one up nicely. Just be sure to get the takeout if you don't want to bake. read more

These guys are top notch WORTH IT Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Price: Worth it First time trying these guys after craving good Mid East food. I heard about these guys and wanting to give it a shot since I haven't had good shawarma in a long minute. W/o bias whatsoever, IT WAS WORTH IT. Not the best I've ever had, but probably the best I've had in Vancouver. I asked for recommendations (of one of the guy's favourite choice) and we went with the Chicken Shawarma wrap. The inside was well cooked, the wrap was warm and not too crunchy, the dressing was well balanced, and s*!t.. dat chicken doe? Ahalie that chicken was a hunnit! Would I recommend? EFF YA I WOULD. This place have an amazing food. The Shawermah sandwich and falafal are very authentic. I highly recommend this place. Very delicious food.

Mr. Shawarma has been around for a while but I never got the chance to try their food until 2 days ago. I was running errands in downtown and I was starving so I decided to give them a try. OMG the wrap i got was so freaking delicious...i mean it was DELICIOUS×10. I ordered the lamb wrap ($8). The quality of the food and the service i got deserves 10 stars. I got there around 3pm and there was no line up ( usually there is). The lady who worked inside the food truck was so friendly, courteous, and fast. The food was AMAZING! The quality of the lamb was top notch ( I'm a huge lover of lamb). I ordered the spicy wrap and the taste was drool worthy. My wrap was just RIGHT! It was not greasy at all. The portion was just right. The price is unbeatable!!! I would highly recommend you to try their food!!! I will return again and again. read more

I stumbled upon this food truck after work and am so glad I did because their platter made for an incredible dinner! TASTE: I ordered the spicy version of the Original Chicken Platter. From the seasoned rice to the tender bits of chicken to the crunch of the house salad, every element came together to create a dish packed full of flavour. Perhaps the only thing I would critique is the pita in that it could have been slightly softer. VALUE: The platter came to $9 incl. tax, which is fairly reasonable from a food truck. I would consider it to be a good value overall since I was full by the end of it. However, I do wish it was served on a paper plate rather than in a plastic container (w/ a lid) because it doesn't seem very eco-friendly. Granted, the staff probably thought I was grabbing it to go, so I will request for the former next time and see if it works. SERVICE: The staff was friendly in taking my order. Altogether, I waited for about 13 minutes for my food to be served. It was somewhat longer than I expected since it was not during lunch hour and there were only two people ahead of me. (This may have also been because I was ravenous at the time...) AMBIANCE: Mr. Shawarma has a great location because you can conveniently eat your meal in the Robson Plaza. I'd imagine it'd be a lot harder to find a spot during the lunch rush, so be prepared to wait for a table and/or have crowds of people pass by you as you eat. read more

Walked by glancing the menu and saw Falafel wrap for $6?! Ok, let's try. Back peddled to food truck to try it out, and I do not regret a thing. I love food trucks like this one. Fresh, good quality and tasty. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.

The food truck's food is delicious, but their order process system is sucks!!! We planned to order the food through the number ,and then it goes through the voice that says, "place an order on Uber, Doordash or Skip the Dishes for Burrard location " Then it turns out it doesn't show the Burrad skytrain station's food truck on Uber Eats' app, so we choose the Granville location to order. Then specifically write a note that says," 655 Burrad pick up". Reason? They could refuse or cancel the order if they can't have the food being pickup at the Burrad location. Yet, the order went through the app, but they ask me to pickup at the Granville location when I was at the Burrad location. I said," I don't want to go there, coz I'm already here. Can you just void the order and then I'll just pickup here?" They said they can't coz they don't want to duplicate the order. I insisted and showed them the price that I paid and there's a note for pickup at Burrad. A few minutes later, the food truck person said," I don't understand why you don't want to go there and waste your time staying here. Now, I need to go there and pickup the food for you. And we're busy." I didn't say a thing but thank you coz I need to come back to Burrad location for taking a bus home later. Then another mins passed, he said they (the other location's person) will deliver the food here and I'll just wait. Finally.... We ordered prior to my arrival and then spending 30 mins for arguing my order They could have just canceled the order for me, and then I pay onsite again. I don't like the person's attitude by saying that he needs to pickup the food for me. Isn't it their job? Otherwise, they shouldn't accept the order at the first place eh? The person also told me "the phone number doesn't work", so I told them they shouldn't use the number to confuse people. Yet, he doesn't listen They even didn't say SORRY to me for their confusing instructions that we heard on the phone call. Am I too polite to them by saying THANK YOU n APPRECIATE IT after receiving the food⁉ Service Food People Order process: Last... Thank you for spending another 30 mins asking your client to go to another location for pickup, so I'll just go to the other location in the future then read more

Awesome food truck! Love the lamb and chicken platters, the beef feels a bit dryer than the other two meats, but mixed with the sauces no problem! Went here based on it being highly recommended. I ordered a steak wrap, I was charged for two and after looking and my receipt I noticed the double charge so, I got back in line, explained I didn't order two. The worker told me it was a glitch in the system and simply said "no refund." He turned, and ignored me.... basically he was telling me he was robbing me of my money. Thankfully, a nicer worker in the truck overheard and immediately came with a smile and gave me my refund. It's a simple clover system with a clear button that states refund. We were coming back from some work and were really hungry. Thankfully, I spotted this cart and planned to take an order to go. We ordered chicken shawarma platter. The amount of food was more than enough for one person. Overall, good quality of food with reasonable price. read more

The two gentleman that helped us were extremely friendly. We ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and the beef shawarma sandwich, both were packed with flavor and delicious. I loved that they put French fries in the wraps- sooooo good! Even the way they wrapped them, was neat. I'm usually not a fan of tahini, but I believe the wraps had tahini and it tasted amazing. I walk past this food truck all the time and I must be in my own little world for not stopping once. Ordered the spicy chicken box to go. I didn't want fries so I got more salad instead and it turned out to be the best $8.50 I spent this week. The shredded chicken was juicy and the flavours melded so well together. Just the right amount of spice in the rice. I got a dollop of hummus too. Tad spicy, not over the top but I was wishing it was more for a bit of a kick. This small box turned out not so small after all and it was so satisfying. How did I walk past this food truck and miss this little box of heaven? I couldn't wait to dig in so bad that by the time I got home it was almost all gone. read more

Came by on impulse after seeing the truck, despite having a shawarma wrap a couple days before at another joint nearby. Happened by just as they opened, which may explain why the wait time was a surprising 10 minutes. Wrap was average-size, a little spicier than expected- in a good way. Service was friendly but with several other options in the area I would consider another spot before coming back. read more

My eyes just didn't believe the total, they still don't. $17.90 for two chicken shawarma plates: complete with 2 salads*, 3 dips, tahini, rice and a heaping pile of chicken. Yes. A very filling dinner for two under $20 exists -- in Kits. In Kits! If plates aren't your thing you can order two generous pita wraps for $9.99. It's a one man operation on a Sunday night, and if it's busy** it seemed to get a little disorganized. Who pays first? Who gets served first? But it was worth the additional little wait for so much awesomesauce. Literally. Tahini, hummus, garlic sauce, a very thick tzatziki were all available to layer on. I kid not, they piled on scoops of everything high enough that I had leftovers for lunch the following day. If you're feeling adventurous try one of the malted beverages which included Pomegranate, Apple, Strawberry etc. There was also a Strawberry Crush which looked very intriguing. But I didn't need to ingest a cup of sugar in that moment, just a pound of hummus! *Salad choices included Tabbouleh, marinated red cabbage, green salad, tahini tomatoes, or Greek salad (minus the feta). **I use "busy" loosely, there was one other couple behind us. read more

Walking around the streets of Vancouver looking for a light late afternoon snack we spotted the Mr. shawerma truck. My husband is from Lebanon and a Shawerma fanatic. If he sees it he has to have it, if he doesn't see it he craves it, when he wants it he makes it. I could tell from the Arabic music the guys were listening to and their accents that this was going to be good. We ordered the chicken shawerma with hot sauce and onions. After taking his first bite my husband's first words were "WOOOOW! This is AMAZING!" Ummmm did I mention he's the pickiest eater? By picky I mean he picks everything he eats apart & finds something to dislike about it. He didn't say one negative thing about his sandwich. I'd heard that the food truck scene here in Vancouver is pretty good, but we weren't even planning to try any food trucks and bam! We did and it blew us away! read more

Mmm my new favorite shawarama place!! Came upon this place one cold night; I've always wanted to try this place out. I've heard good things about their Bada Bing food truck, so I knew this would be a good choice. I got a chicken shawarama which came with all the works. Tabouleh, garlic sauce, hummus, lots of chicken, and four kinds of salad veggies to choose from. Marinated tomatoes. Yes please! One bite into this and it was delicious!! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and all the components went together well. The extra veggies added the crispness which I liked. A truly satisfying quick meal! I was informed by a super Elite that they have a food truck too. So this place has to be good. Why? Cause food trucks are awesome! And she was right. This place was good. It was a precursor to our Elite event accross and down the street that night and my dear brother Jay came along for the grub too. Good grub. Vegetarian grub. Heart healthy grub. I got the falafel with cabbage and tabouleh and extra hot sauce with jalepeno's and it just hit the right spot. It helped to give me enough energy through the night and the nice thing. I didn't need meat to fill me up. Fresh ingredients, friendly service and clean place all add up to a near perfect score. Great place and a definate recommendation if you are hankering for a shawarma or falafel in this neighbourhood. read more

This is a busy food truck and the orders can take some time. Even though I was one of the first to order, right when they opened, I barely had time to get back to the office to eat. Fortunately, my meal was worth the wait. The falafel platter included a bit of salad, pita, a dollop of hummus, and some super rich garlic sauce for dipping the 5 good sized falafel. They sat on a bed of very flavourful rice. At $7.50, it was a very filling and tasty meal. This truck is all about meat and carbs. It will leave you in a food coma after so plan a nap after. I've binged on the falafel which they sell by the dozen. The beef poutine is also decadent and sleep-inducing. read more

I've eaten here enough times that I feel I can give them an objective review now. This review is just for the wraps - I like wraps because they're easy to eat while sitting outside or at my desk and they're a good amount of food for me. The wraps here are a good size and packed with flavour. I've tried each one and I've decided that chicken is my favourite. They're all good but my least favourite is the steak, which is just dry shredded beef, and not much of it. The sauces are delicious, especially the hot sauce which I always ask for extra of. It's in a convenient location right in the middle of downtown and the business district, so it's a short walk from almost anywhere. The service is mostly pretty friendly, even though it really only consists of holding out the interac machine for you to tap your card and then later handing you your food. A solid inexpensive downtown lunch option. read more
