Passing through town one afternoon we needed a place to eat and rest during a long drive, many other businesses were closed as it was nearly Christmas, so we decided to try Mr. Pizza. I was hesitant at first because I didn't feel like pizza, but was pleasantly surprised once inside that their menu was quite extensive for many foods in addition to pizza. Our family of three ordered three different entrees and enjoyed each of them in a warm, clean, friendly environment, with a total bill under $30 including a generous tip. How can you beat that? Comfort food for vacationers, backpackers, and hikers. The "pizzaghetti" was just what I needed after several hard, hot days of hikes--filling, tomato-y, and cheesy. Topped it off with a salad and finished with a brownie sundae. Completely sated. The wife was quite satisfied with her personal pizza, local root beer, and serving of ice cream. There is a perfectly nice u-shaped bar inside with great prices (2.75 beers) and it seems to be the only place in town with alcohol open past 9. The pizza looks 3.75 star level as well and the locals spoke very reasonably of it. My garden salad was pretty bad with few veggies and the French onion soup was nothing spectacular. read more

Ok. For anyone who is dying of hunger..you will likely find something on the large menu that you can eat and almost enjoy. Be prepared to wait...a .... long ... time. However, anyone who enjoys real food will find this place unacceptable. Been a couple times now (with our kids)... and it gets worse the more you go. Food is fair at best. Not real, chef style food. It's younger "kids" in the kitchen who don't prepare anything with love. On a busy weekend you will wait over an hour for your food and it will certainly disappoint. Honestly, you haven't been to McDonals in forever... it's right across the street.. just go there and get you grease fix.. you would be way better off. I promise! Nice atmosphere. Watched a World Cup match on one of the many large flat screens. The pizza was forgettable, but there were several other options - from haddock and whole belly clams to sandwiches. If you're looking for great pizza, look elsewhere. But it is a decent family restaurant with outdoor dining right off the river. I can't fathom why the restaurant is called Mr. Pizza when it is seemingly the worst thing they make. The pizza was so bad we only suffered through one slice because we were hungry. We had the BBQ chicken pizza and it just didn't taste good at all. The crust was yucky, too. The other food selections we had were fine (we ordered macaroni and cheese, a turkey club and buffalo wings). We went there after getting back from a moose tour at 11pm because they were open until midnight. In hindsight we should have just hit the drive-thru at McDonalds or tried Subway. read more

My Wife and I stopped in for lunch on 6/24/15 while traveling back to our hotel from the Mount Washington Auto Road. Really great place and service was exceptional. While eating lunch the owner was outside cleaning and tending to the tables near ours. Extremely friendly woman who offered more than you would ever expect. From cushions for our outdoor seats, suntan lotion, chip clips for napkins on the windy day, and bug spray, I could go on and on but none of the above remedies was even a problem, nor were these offers made on request. Food was excellent (Italian grinder and fried chicken sandwich) and left us wanting nothing more. There is no question on where to stop when in Gorham, not because it was anything over the top, but because what they said they do, they did, a rare commodity in many restaurants. My family, friends, and I have been going to Mr. Pizza for many years, as we have been camping in Gorham for almost 30 years. Up to this past Saturday, 5/26/18, we have been usually very happy with the food and the service.....we have even recommended Mr. Pizza to many of our friends who also come up north. Unfortunately, my husband, daughter, and I went there this past Saturday, the sign at the entrance to the dining room said "Please seat yourself"......so we did. Well, the waitress walked past our table several times, didn't acknowledge that we were there, I even turned outward to she would see that we had not been served yet. After sitting there for more than 10 minutes, another family came in and sat down....we saw the waitress grab menus and was heading our way, we thought...."OK now it's our turn".......Wrong!!!! She walked right past us, greeted the family and gave THEM the menus. At that point I became angry and stated loudly "We are leaving!!!". I was just going to walk out but decided to ask the waitress (who neglected us) to get the manager. It took about 5 minutes, but he finally showed up. I let him know that we had been coming there for many years and we were very upset and disappointed at the service we did NOT receive. He was apologetic and offered us a gift card, which I stated "No thanks, it's going to be a while when and if we even come back here again." I let him know that I am also a manager and would want to know if this kind of awful service was occurring from my employees. Never did he say, "Let's get you seated right now and get you served immediately".....that is what I would have done. We will be sure to let our friends and family (we have many who come to Gorham) know to pass right by Mr. Pizza in the future.....the service is very poor!!!! I ordered an eggplant sub and fries w/ketchup. The first bite I took of the sub I spit it out. Second bit the same thing. The eggplant was gross. It was frozen cheep stuff. Even if I liked the eggplant I would have had to scrap all the tomato sauce off it. I don't know what kind of sauce this was but it certainly was not Italian. Worse than the cheapest jarred sauce out there. I started on my dry tasteless fries w/no ketchup. I had five of them. What a waste of time and money. I was starving on my 2 hr. trip home. My husband and i used to here quite a bit in the past to eat. We havent been for about two months until tonight and the food and atmosphere was alot different. We both had prime rib,baked potato, corn and french onion soup. It was very bland no taste to it had to add alot of salt and we also didn't get the dinner roll that was suppose to come with the meal. If you're looking for a place that's casual, family friendly with lots of options this is your place. Inexpensive drinks, great bar food and some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Great burgers, fries, onions rings and homemade potato chips. French onion soup delicious as well. Stopped in while on vacation...also to see woman's World Cup final. The food was great and the service was excellent.

We were staying one night at a hotel near by and went here to have my daughters birthday dinner. No one greeted us when we came in the door and there was no sign saying to wait to be seated or seat yourself. We asked someone walking by and they said yes seat yourself. We took a booth right in front of us and they asked if we needed a highchair for my son and we said yes. Almost 10 minutes later they brought it and still didn't get us drinks. A few minutes later they finally took a drink order. Another. Few minutes they came and said they would come back for the order. By then we were well ready to order. Once we got our food it was warm, not hot. The steak was raw and they never checked on us until we were well ready to go. I don't recommend this place at all. there was only 5 other tables occupied besides ours and 2 servers.', so no reason for it. As a sever I was highly disappointed in service and food. read more

If I could give this place zero stars for tonight's experience I would. First off let me say that we visit NH every year and every year we eat here. We love coming back in fact look forward to it. Tonight changed our minds completely! First we waited 40 minutes for our food which is really no big deal... As long as the wait is worth it. Which it wasn't. We got our food and our pizza was cold but hey the kids meal was warm... But burnt and with the incorrect side dish... Which I would have asked to be corrected except we never saw our waitress again until she wanted us to pay for our meal. Ohh yea and don't forget we had at that point been there for well over and hour and still had our original drinks. We were never offered refills.. Not even while we waited 40 minutes for our meals in the first place. So then I had finally had enough and I asked for the manager only to be told that he's too busy to speak with us. Well with that being said I'm not even sure I would have wanted to speak with the manager because clearly good customer service is not his thing. Needless to say while we're in town we will now be finding somewhere else to be our new favorite place to eat. read more

Mr. Pizza has been a longtime joint for my girlfriend and I. The food here is excellent, well priced, great service, and casual easy dining. I recommend the Italian sub, one of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). The buffalo chicken potato skins are always a must have as well. My experience at Mr Pizza was extremely disappointing to say the least. We were not welcomed when we walked in the door until we had to ask if we seat ourselves or not. We sat ourself and waited about 10 minutes until our server finally took our drink orders. Another 10 minutes go by when we receive our drinks and our server didn't even ask if we were ready to order yet. Finally we order our food and wait around 25 minutes until the table next to us, which placed their order about 10 minutes after we did, got their food. Our server came over to us informing us our food should be out shortly, it was clear she had forgotten to put our order into the kitchen. Not only was the service terrible, the food was too. I got a chicken parm grinder and it was like a sloppy joe. Not impressed AT ALL! Do not go here. read more
