What a hidden gem! I say hidden because while it is on the main road, the name and front facade are a bit misleading. On a whim we tried this place. All of the food was inexpensive, delicious, and plentiful. Tina was our waitress and she was amazing. Stopped at Mr. Pizza after going to the Mt. Washington Auto Road. Despite the name, it had more to offer than just pizza. I had the roast turkey dinner, and the squash was fresh and delicious, as were the mashed potatoes. The turkey was alright. The French fries were good. I was out with just one kid, and thought we'd hit something special since it's rarely just the two of us. He wanted to go to a chain pizza place up the road, I insisted on something local. I regret it. Service was slow and our appetizer arrived with the meal. I got the steak and cheese, which had about twice as much bread as it needed for the amount of filling. The pizza my son got was ok, but the sauce is very sweet, so if you're not expecting that it can be a surprise. I debated between two and three stars, but given the lack of refills, stingy condiments, and poor service I decided to go with two. My recommendation is based on the our dine in experience. We are repeat customers to Mr. Pizza's and honestly what happened today made me physically ill. My husband and I went in with our son and his partner. We were treated rudely, disrespectfully. The waitress dropped our food off and never checked in with us to see how the food was, if we wanted refills or desert. Two of the people at our table ordered drinks and ID's were never checked. We watched our server conversing with patrons, that were done eating and leaving for 15-20 mins. We had to ask the hostess to send someone over as we had already been waiting 40 mins., which visibly upset the server. When we asked the hostess to speak to the manager she said there was none on premise at that time, and when asked if they would be in tomorrow she said you can check but there may not be. When we tried to explain to her that the server threw out my son's food as he was putting it into his to go container, she literally took the plate he had the remainder of his food as he was transferring the food. The hostesses response was we are really busy and short staffed. Our response was, she took his food and threw it out, that is not ok. She then said, sorry we have been here since 8am and we are tired. I said, that is no excuse to be rude to people and throw out their food, I said, I am a nurse and I would never treat my patients like this, I work 12-16 hours at a time. What they did was not professional. I can see that this establishment has some biases and I cannot in good conscience recommend them any longer. Kindness goes a long way. read more

We waited for 45 minutes after ordering dinner, the lasagna had very little pasta and mostly consisted of meat sauce and ricotta cheese. The 10'' pizza, which was what caused the wait for dinner was not hot. The waitress was too busy chatting with other customers to refill beverages. Pizza crust was very bland. read more

Good food and service here. I had the maple bacon pizza and loved it. When the waiter said they were out of soup the owner piped up and said that they actually never made any soup that day and then laughed. Not many options to eat in Gorham so this was a great find. read more

I was highly disappointed in my experience at Mr. Pizza on this past Friday evening Sept. 26. My boyfriend and I entered at around 6:15 pm. We were not approached for our drink order for another 15 minutes. We placed our food order when we received our drinks about 10 minutes after ordering them. We waited for our food for 50 minutes. The place was busy, but there should have been more help in the kitchen. We did not get out of Mr. Pizza until 8:40. That is the longest wait I have ever sat through. And when the food did arrive. OMG I order fried fish...it was scary. I only ate a few bits and left the rest. the fish was dark in color and tasted old. It is a shame that Mr. Pizza gave us such horrible service. After a 12 hour drive we stumbled upon this awesome little restaurant/pub. The $4 24oz margarita was so good! Bacon cheeseburger was cooked perfectly & their coleslaw was the best I've had in awhile & it was a good size portion. A busy Tuesday night apparently. The two of us were seated inside at a very small table then ignored for 10 minutes. Finally, a lovely waitress came to rescue us, saying she had noticed us sitting there and would take care of us. She did. My wife and I split a surf and turf. The seafood was to die for! The steak was too tough to eat and most of it went to waste. The green salad was just fine. If we go back, no more steak, seafood only, unless I try the chicken. Great day on the deck. Got a little hot in the sun after watching four tables sit after us and finish their food before we were served. Server insisted the ticket was not lost, they were very busy. I was staying at room down the street and needed dinner. This place had the most cars in the lot so I figured it must be good. They have a big menu with a little of everything, daily specials, and a special menu with lighter fare and lower prices. They are big into deep fried and "heavy" food, but they do it well. The house salad is good - and I love the raspberry vinaigrette dressing - it's thick and rich. I find an appetizer that's pretty cool - Neptune Nuggets - deep fried chunks of haddock with tartar dipping sauce. It's only $6.95. The deep fried and battered coliflour is good too. One night they had deep fried broccoli - excellent. This is a family type place and they serve the whole menu until late in the evening. The prices are reasonable and the staff is great. Someone at the motel I was at told me they have margaritas all the time for only $2.00. I'll have to see if that's true - it sounds unbelievable. It's not gourmet, but it's very good and worth the trip. They shouldn't call it a pizza place, because they have a full menu and I didn't see too many people eating pizza. Update 11/13: Place rocks. The margarita is $2.50 - all day everyday. A 16 ounce pint glass that's very good for the money. a monster 24 ounce is only $3.50. read more

Passed through Gorham on a motorcycle trip recently and was recommended it by the clerk at the gas station. We pulled into their parking lot and half of it was take. up by motorcycles.. popular bike hangout I guess! Anyway, we enjoyed our lunch on the patio by the river. For a place called "Mr Pizza", their pizza wasn't very good. I ordered the eggplant parmesan sandwich. It was alright, but came with no sides. It would have been nice if the waiter had told me that when I ordered. Service was slow and the food was pretty bland. On the plus side, we sat on the patio, which had a nice view of the river. Horrible. Two of the three things we ordered never came, the food we did get was ok, what you would expect for a bar kind of place. Servers seem not particularly aware of anything, probably because they barely came to our table. Very frustrating. Oh, and the "local" brew is Sam Adams. Hopefully you are not looking for something actually brewed in NH. Decor is very outdated. It seems to me that maybe they are complacent since there really are not many other places in the area. My family and I stopped in Wednesday night for dinner on our way back from a long day of touristing. The restaurant was somewhat near to closing, but they graciously seated us with a smile nonetheless. Our waitress was delightful! Very friendly and outgoing. We got two appetizers: the loaded potato boats and sweet potato fries. The potato boats were utterly delicious, and though I thought the sweet potato waffle fries were a bit bland, the rest of my family ate them up VERY fast and had no qualms with them. They were portioned quite generously, too. Our entrees came up quickly and efficiently. The portions were more than enough for all of us, and everyone enjoyed their food, except my mother. She did not like the mashed potatoes, and she assumed that since she was ordering a "lighter fare" plate her haddock would have come out broiled. It came out fried. She was a little disappointed at that, but ate it all anyway. My french onion soup, on the other hand, was wonderful! All in all, we had excellent service, great food, and a wonderful time together as a family. A couple bland fries and weird mashed potatoes can't ruin a great experience like that. I've visited here a couple of times, because my friend likes the prices. I think the food is kind of on the low side of normal. What I mean by that is, its not terrible, its just not the place I would choose to eat. I will say, there is a decent beer selection, which is a plus. We sat down in a booth and waitress said , "oh you can sit there, you must have five people". We thought she was kidding but she made us move. Visited this place based on Yelp reviews, and it was within walking distance of our hotel. We said on the restaurant side; I didn't notice but my fiancé said there was a pub side on the left when you walk in. We seated ourselves at a booth in the back, and the busboy/table runner brought menus. It was a few minutes before the waitress came, but that gave us enough time to decide on Poutine for an app and a pitcher of Tuckermans pale ale. The beer was good; if you are a beer lover always try something local or at least regional! The poutine was an Americanized version, with a cheese sauce versus curds. Mildly disappointing given our proximity to Canada, but it didn't stop is from eating every bite and scraping the plate clean. We split a 14" thin crust pizza with bacon, onion, and jalapeños on half. Nothing bad to say about this pizza! Great crust, nice sauce, and a good amount of toppings. We were totally satisfied and happy to frequent a local place during our time in Gorham! read more

The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the scallops broiled and they came out looking uncooked. The baked potato was hard. The coleslaw was warm. When I inquired of the server, Kate, if the scallops were broiled or boiled, she confirmed broiled. I suggested they should be brown. She said "No, broiling doesn't make them brown." At the end of the meal I offered a comment to the chef that the scallops would be more appetizing if they were brown. She said ok. I'm sure that didn't happen. I would anywhere else but here!!! We will come back someday! We drove around trying to find a restraunt. This place had the most cars so that is a good sign. We were seated right away. The menu and the specials are huge! I was impressed w. the selections. They have more than pizza. Full bar too. The staff could be a bit friendlier though..Anyway. the fried pickles; the breading falls off when u try to eat them..try dipping them in egg/milk then in flour and corn meal. Use a batter..My husb. liked his pizza and I had the surf and turf. (thin, tender steak and fried fish, clams, scallops, shrimp) it was on the specials menu for 15.00.
