This place is a fast food but usually have to wait a few minutes since it's cooked to order . That's fine with me though I love hot fresh food and cooked to order. They wear gloves and clean if you go inside I just do the drive through usually . But the menu has a variety of items and I love the waffle fries . The wings are good also . The mushrooms aren't bad either . The food has been consistent so far even when we had it delivered.

I grew up in Cleveland and always remember Mr. Hero. Still flourishing in Northeast Ohio, but only one location exists in Columbus, on Livingston Ave. If I'm in the neighborhood and have the time, I'll stop by for a Romanburger or Cheesesteak. In my last two visits I have had a very good, consistent experience in getting the Romanburger. The regular size is 7" with two burgers, but they have been running a special on the 3 burger 10", which is a steal for only a nickel more than the 7" at $5.55! Beginning with a fresh baked Orlando roll, it is topped with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a special recipe Italian oil seasoning. Then topped with burgers, a white American blend sliced cheese, grilled salami and ham, and mayo. It's a perfect combination! Pictured is my 10" Romanburger with no mayo and over 1.5 hours old. Still intact!

The drive thru. The hanging lights run completely around the building.

While priced decently, you can do a lot better than Mr. Hero's. I remember Mr. Hero's from my childhood. Back in the day, there were many locations around Columbus. Now, there is just one left in the city. If the taste and freshness of the food is why, I understand. It seems like a good bargain. Two Philly cheese steaks and two Bavarian cream filled churros for just $10. After I ate it, though, I feel like I paid too much. The cheese steaks, while hot, are stale and a bit hard. The churros, like something you should get free while getting your car fixed at a dealership (not much more than a hint of the cream in a slight smattering of crunchiness). While it was fun to go retro for once, I don't think I'll be back again. Two stars. Mostly for the kitchiness.

My mom took me to Mr. Hero years ago when one was located inside of a gas station on the westside of Columbus off of Wilson Road. Of course that location has been long gone. Once I found out we had one out east on Livingston Ave. I never pass up a chance to go whenever I'm in the area. While pregnant with one of my children I used to pass the restaurants exit on my way home from my OBGYN apts. So I always stopped. I'm obsessed with the Roman burger and fries with cheese sauce. It's addicting. It's always served fresh and warm. I think they used to be open late and now it closes earlier. If you've never tried it, I definitely suggest you go soon. You won't be disappointed.

All tables dirty! Not only dirty but they all had a film on them. As if they have not been cleaned in weeks. GROSS, AND RUDE PEOPLE

First time my wife and daughter stopped before our daughter headed overseas for two years in the Peace Corps. Scotty''s is super close and convenient to the airport. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

Brassica: My Go-To Spot for a Fresh, Healthy Flavor Bomb…read more Brassica is hands-down my favorite place for a fresh, healthy meal that never sacrifices flavor. From the consistency across locations to the value and thoughtful sourcing, everything about it feels intentional. How it works: You start by picking a base--salad ($11.99), sandwich ($8.99), or hummus plate ($9.99). Then choose a protein like falafel, chicken shawarma, or the harissa-rubbed brisket that falls apart the second you pick up your fork. The veggies deserve a shoutout. Usually I avoid roasted vegetables because they come out bland or soggy, but here? They're seasoned and cooked to perfection. The marinated eggplant is silky, the beets are bright and earthy, and even the cauliflower has so much flavor. If you think you don't like vegetables, Brassica might change your mind. *Don't skip the sauces -- the z'hug jalapeño cilantro sauce ties everything together, and the feta adds the perfect creamy finish. Special Mention: The Minty Pink Lemonade. As a self-proclaimed lemonade connoisseur, this one passes the test. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and honestly the best $3 you'll spend all day. The portions are generous, the ingredients are high quality, and the atmosphere is laid-back but modern. If you haven't been, it's worth the trip. Busy at 1:15 on a weekday, end of the lunch rush, apparently. Multiple people behind the counter, working hard. Slicing the meat seems to be what takes the most time. They were professional, but not wordy. Took my order, got it going since it has to be grilled, and kept working on the rest of the orders. Counter, phone, pick up, etc. The sub came out in about 10 minutes. Fresh and hot. Loads of meats (ham, salami, pepp,) grilled onions, fresh lettuce, and tomatoes. All on good bread. Oh, and provolone cheese, nicely melted. All the flavors and textures work together really well. It's a little spicy, really not much, but enough to add some flavor. The 8 inch was enough for a light lunch for me. I would definitely get another one. I hope it sticks around and is not just limited time. Prices are decent for the quality and quality. The place was a little dirty, again after the lunch rush, they just hadn't had a chance to wipe the tables. Parking is street only and somewhat scarce, I'm sure especially at peak times.

All of the items on the menu looked appealing to me, but the menu needs work. It has items on it without any description of the items. For example, my turkey sub had banana peppers on them. I like banana peppers, but I know a lot of people who don't and can see that being an issue. I ordered online through the business DoorDash partnership, which created a cold interaction with the person working there. He kept telling me to show him that I accepted the order on DoorDash, and asked if it was my first day since I couldn't find the button. I then told him that I ordered the food for myself and his demeanor changed completely and was extremely nice and gave me the order. I have heard of DoorDash people scamming businesses so I understand his caution, but it could have been handled better. It would probably be best if he just asked if it's a carry-out or a DoorDash order. The inside is essentially just a giant kitchen and counter, so carry-out is also the only option. I ordered a turkey sub, coney, and a side of coleslaw. The order was completed in 9 minutes, so keep that in mind if you have a far drive. The food was very good. Probably one of the best conies I have had. It was all very warm and flavorful and had the right balance of everything. If I'm in the area I'd like to try more of their menu.
