They have remodeled!! The place looks really good. A new menu/ sign board. Fresh paint and new really cute red booths. I ordered the fried chicken with mojo potatoes. I ordered right when they opened. I was told 20 minutes and my order would be ready. When I got there they were just finishing up y order. The chicken was outstanding. The batter stayed on, the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist and juicy inside. The chicken was really cooked perfectly. I will be back to try other menu items. I have lived in Simi over 20 years and this was my first visit to Mr. Fish and Chips! Can't believe I haven't been here sooner. The tempura battered fish was excellent! Generous portions and very good. The popcorn shrimp was fantastic as well. The shrimp was very generous and not just over battered scrap pieces. The service was friendly and kind. Great place for our go-to fish & chips place. Nothing fancy, but light (not greasy) delicious batter dipped fish and French fries with a small 1/4 cup side of Cole slaw. They also have other items on the menu; the shrimp and zucchini were also tasty, but we always order the fish and chips! So addictive! read more

I came here , heard from my co worker it was really delicious, had to try it. The place seems new I asked the owner I believe he said they recently moved. It is really nice inside, plenty of parking it is on the side of the tapo canyon st, I came got the 2 piece fish and chips and came with coleslaw, It was about 10 dollars which I thought that was not bad, it is fish and fish is usually expensive. I wish they gave me an extra tarter sauce, the tarter sauce was okay, nothing special I like mine a little thicker. The coleslaw, I forgot to try. Everything was cooked pretty perfect the fish was huge and the 2 pieces of it will make you more than full. It was not greasy that is what I liked it was really fresh and the fires were not greasy. I mean this place is really great, it is hard to find good fish and chip joints. I mean would of gave it 5 stars if the tarter sauce was on point the workers were polite also. Three and a half stars easy. First off, it's not a traditional fish and chips place. They also serve fried chicken and they have a limited Asian menu. Hole in the wall location. No air conditioning when it's 94 out. Pleasant gentleman at the counter. All I wanted was a traditional two piece fish and chips dinner. No problem, they cook everything fresh for you here. So I waited but a few minutes before my dinner was handed to me. I asked for extra tartar sauce for my fries (it's a Seattle thing) and headed home. First of all, the portions are HUGE! There is no way I could eat two pieces at one sitting. They could have easily cut these pieces in half and made them go twice as far. But the fish was GOOD! And the tartar sauce is magnificent. Let's start with the fish and chips, the fish and chips were excellent.They were tempura battered. It was perfectly fried and the fish was good quality. The fried oysters were ok. I think the oyster was battered too thick, it was too greasy. Then the last thing we ordered was the onion rings. Those were tempura battered. Those, on the other hand, were perfectly battered and were very good. Make sure to get the coleslaw because it goes really well with the fried food. It is cool and a little sweet. Yum! The two pieces of fish alone takes up the entire container in width. They were also not greasy at all! My advice is to read the menu over well before you get there. They have so many menu items to choose from. We went for fish and chips, but will have to return so that we can try their other dishes. Our fish was coated in a tasty, crunchy batter and could not have been cooked any better. The side of crispy coleslaw had just the right amount of creamy dressing. Went in to order. Guy not very friendly. He offered three pieces of fish with our standard two-piece fish and chips. When we got home there were two pieces of fish. I am giving this place 3 stars because the person working there had good intentions but unfortunately they did not understand English & I asked for lemons and they gave me a bowl of lemons w no tongs or a fork I just had to grab it with my hands over all the man was very nice but as far the food it was very hot out the fryer and I could not eat it with out Burning my mouth how ever it was very fresh with no seasonings just tarter sauce .
