She was rude and short in explaining the menu options, she didn't want to give each of us chop sticks, she didn't want to fill up our bowl of dipping sauce and she watched us as we ate like we were foreigners in our own country. Affordable dumplings alert! This place is located inside H mart, making it super convenient to grab a bite to avoid hangry shopping. The layout is food court style. As you approach the counter, there are display trays of the dishes to expedite decision-making instead of looking at a plain menu. It's just simply easy to point, and ask what's that dish. After ordering & paying at the counter, search for seats. The nice lady at the counter directly brought the food to us. She later gave us complimentary hot tea while we were eating our meal - loved it! My favorite dumplings of all time are the xiao long bao, soup dumplings. The dumplings were moderately dry here. I did not yield any soup leaking out when I poked a hole into the dumplings with my chopstick. Engulfing the entire dumpling, it was not as juicy as I hoped it to be. They really need more soup to be an actual soup dumpling. The seafood shumai has a lot of dough. I had to make a conscious effort to find the meat. Not the best I have ever had. Overall, I will likely return to satisfy some dumpling cravings when in a time crunch or in extreme hunger while grocery shopping. read more

Fried dumplings were half fried 3/10 soup dumplings weren't as soupy as I thought and tasted meh 5/10. Nothing special. $20 mediocre meal. Lady at the front is incredibly rude, dumplings are good but she will not sell me pork dumplings. She gets pissed the minute you order that. This is a hidden gem inside of H Mart (Asian grocery store). The grocery store has a whole food cart inside of it and Mr Dumpling is the only one that sales steamed and fried dumplings. The owner was very helpful, she explained to me each type of dumpling she had on hand and how many comes with each order. I am not a pork eater, so I went with the fried chicken and steamed shrimp. The shrimp came with 8 and the chicken came with 12 and the order was $13 total. I was amazed at how inexpensive it was. I placed my order to go so it took about 8-10mins to receive my order and they were busy on a Sunday afternoon. The dumplings are served with a regular soy sauce that is pretty salty or a spicy soy sauce (just has slices of jalapeños in it but not actually spicy nor salty). After going right home to eat the dumplings I was very pleased. I would personally recommend the fried dumpling options because they packed more flavor than the steamed ones. But both hot and still good and great amount for the price I was full afterwards and only had half of both orders. read more

A lovely couple operate this stand in the food court of the H Market. There is a good selection of dumplings both steamed and pan fried. All house made and cooked to order. The lady who runs the counter is horrible. Every time I have went there to buy the pork king dumpling they're "sold out" every single time i go. I don't know if I should just give up but I've been there more than a handful of times and they never seem to have it. But yet the other day I tried to order it because the people infront of me just ordered it. The male cashier gave me a weird look and went to talk to the female owner and then the female owner cut him off and said "no we are sold out." It wasn't even noon...come on. It shouldn't be hard to make more of a product if it is your most popular menu item. I have heard from other people who go there that speak Korean say that the owner has said she doesn't give out the good dumplings to customers who are not Korean or Asian appearing. No idea how true it is. maybe I just have terrible luck. I'd been shopping at 99 Ranch, but decided to go to Hmart for lunch, and I'm so glad I did. The lady working the register was so sweet! I wasn't sure what to order, so she explained to me what everything was, but highly recommended the the soup dumplings. They were delicious! I've had buns and dumplings here many times over the years and they are usually pretty good. The twinted rolls are just plain good bread, as well as the peach buns. I'm not super big on gyoza so I cannot speak as to how it is here. I had the bao today (steamed pork bun) and I really was not super impressed with the filling. It tasted kind of odd, and came out in one clump instead of pulling apart beautifully. They do have quite the selection, so if your in the market for anything dumpling, come here. Just maybe don't get the bao. The soup dumplings look great, and as do the kimchi dumplings. I will defiantly be trying those in the future. In addition, the workers here are much nicer than other workers in the food court. The owner gives out free hot tea to everyone. That's not something you see at any other place. She also brings the food to you, instead of other places that just call your number. She also insisted on taking our plates for us. Great customer service overall! read more

Inside H Mart you have so many choices of eateries to choose ranging from Japanese, Chinese to of course, Korean. Although most of the dishes definitely have a Korean spin to it, it's nice to branch out every once in awhile. I ordered the Xiao Long Bao, or soup dumpling. The flavor was completely on point, but it honestly didn't have a lot of soup and was a little cold in the middle. I think if they left it in the steamer just for another minute or so, it would have been better. It gets four stars because the dumpling skin was perfectly thin, the little bit of soup I did get was great and again, the flavor was great. I went here years ago with my family and years later I took my boyfriend here and he loves their soup dumplings so much. They're good for the winter, but I honestly don't mind having them in the summer because they're that good. I've only tried their soup dumplings and shumai and both were amazing. The soup dumplings are super hot when it initially comes out so I have to wait a minute to begin eating them. The radishes they serve them with are refreshing to eat after eating so many. The sauce pairs well with the dumplings as well. Every time I eat the soup dumplings it warms my stomach and everything melts in my mouth. The first time I came here with my mom and 1 1/2 year old. I bought food at another stall. I forgot to buy a drink, she was the closest we were sitting by, I went to buy just a drink and the older lady was already not happy. I tried to pay with a card (as I do not carry cash on me) and she gave the worst attitude and had the most mean face and told me they don't take card for that amount, that was totally fine, I went to get cash from my mother. (I shouldn't have patronized). She even spoke in Korean to her son or whatever and I know it wasn't nice. 2nd time I came with my husband, we bought food elsewhere (I refused to buy her food) my husband did though, just wanted one serving of dumplings for our 2 year old. SHE was still the nastiest. Asking, that's it? No drink? Nothing else? He's 2 now. We only wanted dumplings for him. How many servings can he eat? Went to check this place out, today. We ordered the soup dumplings, the pork pan fried dumplings, and the fried sweet buns. As others have said, the soup dumplings are not really soupy, but they tasted good. Especially with the spicy dipping sauce. Yum! The fried sweet buns we're good. Super satisfying crunch and it kind of tastes like a funnel cake. It comes with sweetened condensed milk to dip it in. The star of the show, however, were the pan fried pork dumplings. They were so tender inside but had a nice crunch on the outside, and they crisped it up all around instead of just on the flat side. The flavor was on point. Possibly the best potstickers I have had. The people working there were nice and it was fast. Yes it is a stand in a busy supermarket, but it is awesome. And the market is great. read more

Not sure what I was expecting here, but what I got was a food court location inside of a grocery store. It is a small storefront with shared seating amongst the other eateries. It was crowded and tough to find a spot, but we finally found one after we ordered. It was strange, but as we were waiting for our food, they kept telling us to move into a tight table surrounded by others closer to their booth. It's like they didn't want to walk as far to deliver the food. The wait time was about 10 minutes between ordering and when our food arrived. We got the soup dumplings and fried potstickers and they were okay. Tasted kind of like they had been frozen before, but the soup dumplings had soup and the price was good. Tiny, mediocre dumplings with awful service. I ordered the soup dumplings (10 pc) for my mom and I. Took about 18 minutes which felt pretty long, especially since it was only a couple orders ahead of us. Finally got our dumplings and they were extremely underwhelming. I can forgive subpar food products, sometimes it happens. But when it comes to rude service, that's when I leave these reviews. My mom asked for another pair of chopsticks (they only gave us one when it was clearly two of us sitting down) and the lady says "okay only one more!" Then after she hands her the chopsticks, she mutters under her breath "jeez, only ordered one dish and needs two chopsticks..." How embarrassing for (I'm assuming her position) an owner to say that to a customer, who can clearly hear her say that. As a restaurant owner myself, I could never imagine saying that to a customer! I feel ashamed for an owner who's only focusing on profits and expenses. Like, you can't even offer a second pair of chopsticks to a paying customer? It's not like we didn't tip... If you're trying to dine at H Mart, skip on over to the next stall who will probably treat customers better and offer much better food.
