The owner / manager who took my order and gave me the pick-up order acted like we were old friends. So damn friendly. Food: Blackened grouper sando with fries and slaw. Wow. Fuhgeddaboudit. All were great. Even the slaw. Good seafood slaw?! What are the odds of that? It's usually a throw-away. Not here. Fish was perfect flaky and flavorful. The side of "tartar" sauce was even super tasty, though not needed as the fish was so moist and well cooked. Fries were of the battered variety, which I like. They were not too greasy and very tasty. If you have never had the Floridian delicacy of a blackened or fried grouper sando, you need to live more life...and try it here. Overall, highly recommend. Cheers!

I asked for her recommendations and I went with the hogfish sandwich. Luckily, she told me I could get it grilled and blackened instead of fried. I could tell they knew how to cook fish because it came out perfectly. Most would probably think it was undercooked, but that's how fish should be cooked. I appreciated this attention to detail and thought it was delicious.

But for the service. It really should be 1.5 stars but this system doesn't allow that. Let me explain. Let's start with the appetizers. Best thing on the menu was the beet salad and goat cheese. Probably the best part of the entire meal and its presentation was fantastic. Followed by the clam chowder. Lobster bisque was pretty bad as was the ceasar salad. Onto the main items. PRIME RIB. Many ordered this but not one person liked or finished theirs. In some cases overly fatty and in others the meat was super chewy and barely flavorful. Most of prime rib from all guests was taken home to feed to the dogs. Fish was a tri-tip, overly salty but also undercooked. Desserts - Have t say the donuts were the clear winner. Key Lime Pie had a gross drizzle of raspberry sauce (While do so many restaurants do this?). Creme de pot, so sweet that your teeth hurt from eating it. Look, if you are going to charge high prices and have a prix fix menu for a special occasion like mother's day or other, then THAT menu of items better be spot on and near perfect. In this case, "M" failed miserably. Certainly won't be back.

My wife ordered the fish tacos, which came with a side salad topped with blue cheese crumbles and red onion. The presentation looked great with nice char on the fish, fresh pico, and shredded cabbage piled high. But the execution fell short. The fish itself was chewy and not very tender. Let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit to Mr. Big Fish in Naples, Florida. As soon as I walked in, I could smell the aroma of fresh seafood filling the air, and I knew I was in for a treat. The menu was impressive - full of classic seafood dishes, as well as some unique and inventive takes on old favorites. I opted for the Red grouper and I have to say, it was sensational. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a delicate, flaky texture and just the right amount of seasoning. The seafood chowder was another standout dish - creamy, rich, and full of fresh seafood. And let's not forget about the sides - the hush puppies were crispy and golden brown, and the french fries were perfectly salted and cooked to perfection. The service was fantastic, with waitstaff who were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was just right, and I never once felt neglected or ignored. The atmosphere was lovely, relaxed, and comfortable - exactly what you would expect from a great seafood joint. And let me just say, the decor was spot on - rustic and charming, with a nautical theme that was tasteful without being overbearing. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about Mr. Big Fish. The food was outstanding, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was exactly what you would want from a laid-back seafood restaurant. If you're in the mood for some fresh seafood in Naples, Florida, you won't be disappointed with what Mr. Big Fish has to offer. read more

I read the first two reviews, one a good one and one a bad one and decided we had a 50/50 chance of having a decent meal. Boy am I glad we ate there. Last night we had a wonderful meal at The Big Fish. Only two weeks old but what a crowd; I'm sure glad that we made reservations. I had the fish and chips, fried haddock. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious. As I was eating another departing diner stopped and pointed at my dish and said, "wonderful, isn't it". As good as my meal was my wife's grilled snapper was to die for. Cooked perfectly and the butter lemon sauce was probably the best that we have ever tasted. Interestingly the mixed vegetables that come with every meal, in this case broccoli and zucchini, were freshly steamed and not wilted and tasteless as is so often the case. And the key lime pie is oh so good. I asked the owner to stop by in order to thank him for the wonderful experience. He tells me that the pie is made in their kitchen. Also, the ownership has been running restaurants in Naples over three generations--all of them were and are fine eating establishments. We will be back, often, and will not hesitate to recommend this place to our friends. Judging by the size of the crowd after only two weeks they are getting a lot of referrals from happy diners. By the way, I did not know the family. read more

We found this place through a local coupon book or we may not have known it was there. Surprisingly so since the owners are long time restaurantuars in the area opening Mel's Diner, Stevie Tomotoes, and Big Al's. This is more higher end then their other ventures. Definitely fresh seafood here. We were greeted attentively and seated right away. Our server was very accommodating to us. We had blue point oysters rhat were briney, fresh, and delicious. The other app we ordered were the chardonnay clams. Nice sized sweet clams with a briney tomato broth perfect for the crusty bread basket on the table. The scallops here perfectly seared and were very large. I had the special blackened black grouper. I am doing low carb so I appreciated the selection of veggie sides. My boyfriend had the boirsin au gratin potatoes. Those were pretty awesome. No dessert for us but 4 stars for fresh seafood! Nice nautical interior too! read more

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner here, and while the food and atmosphere were top-tier, what truly elevated our night was the exceptional service provided by our server, Karel. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel incredibly welcome. He was kind, funny, and treated us like family. What we appreciated most was Karel's perfect timing; he was highly attentive and anticipated our needs without ever making the meal feel rushed. It is rare to find someone who blends such high-level efficiency with genuine warmth and charisma. Mr. Big Fish was an absolute standout. Every dish we tried was incredible--from the tender, flavorful mussels to the perfectly grilled octopus. The Angry Lobster had just the right kick, and the parmesan-crusted grouper was hands-down one of the best seafood dishes we've had in a long time. Even the homemade bread was a highlight--fresh, warm, and impossible to stop eating. And the au gratin potatoes? Easily the best I've ever had at a restaurant--rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked. What really impressed us was that even our non-seafood eater had an amazing meal. The strip steak was cooked to perfection and just as thoughtfully prepared as the seafood dishes. Everything was so delicious, and you can really taste the quality and care in each dish. We'll definitely be back! read more

Unfortunately, while the restaurant itself is beautiful, the overall experience was very disappointing. Shortly after we were seated, our waiter brought a wine carafe to the table next to us. When clearing the extra place settings from our table, he accidentally left their carafe on our table. It sat there for about 10 minutes before he returned to get it, leaving a wine stain behind. It wasn't a huge issue by itself, but it set the tone for the lack of attention throughout the evening. We ordered smoked Old Fashioneds, and unfortunately they were almost undrinkable. They tasted watered down and were served with a lot of regular ice rather than a large cube, which was surprising for a restaurant at this price point. We then ordered a bottle of wine, only to be told they couldn't find the bottle. The steak was cooked properly, but it lacked the flavor I would expect from a high-end steakhouse. On the positive side, the lobster tail was excellent. The owner or manager also graciously brought us two shrimp, and they were absolutely delicious. Those were easily the highlights of the meal, and we appreciated the gesture. Unfortunately, when you're spending more than $400 with tip for dinner, the entire experience needs to match that price point. Between the service issues, cocktails, missing wine, and underwhelming steak, it simply didn't. Beautiful restaurant and a couple of excellent seafood dishes, but based on our experience, I can't recommend T-Michaels and don't see us returning.

Both our meals last night were rather disappointing. My wife's "medium" burger came out well done and very dry. The onion rings were solid. I got one of the specials which was a shrimp and crab gumbo. Had very little seasoning and did not taste Cajun at all. The shrimp were the tiny bay shrimp which I am not a fan of. I did not initially see any crab but when I used the camera light in my phone I spotted a few white slivers of crab. Less than 1/2 ounce in total. The garlic bread was solid. Thought about sending my meal back it but it was either both dishes or neither and we decided to just let it go. I think sticking with the standard menu options is the way to go. We will still return though!

The Claw Bar always delivers a great night out! We had great service and delicious food, and their…read moreEarly Dining three-course prix fixe menu is just $45 per person. What I really like is that the portions are full size--not smaller portions just because you're ordering from the prix fixe menu. There are several choices for each course, so there's something for everyone. For our first course, we chose the Street Corn Caesar and Baked Oysters Toscano. For the second course, we had the Pan-Seared Butterfish and Calabrian Cioppino. For dessert, we chose the Fireman Derek's Oreo Cheesecake and Late Summer Berries. Everything was tasty, and the three-course menu offers a lot of variety for $45. The Claw Bar is always a great choice for a nice evening out, and the Early Dining menu makes it an especially good value.

Beautiful restaurant inside of the Bellasera Hotel. Service was fantastic. From start to finish…read more Friendly and perfectly timed. We went for the raw bar but the cooked fish sounded so good that we tried those instead. The triggerfish was good. I found the pineapple sauce too sweet, as did others that ordered it. The St. Augustine Stew was a hit. As was the cornbread- It was everyone's favorite. We loved the chili honey butter and others loved the pimento cheese. Really delicious. Great wine list and cocktail menu. If you like Old Fashioneds, try their Pecan Old Fashioned. Really tasty.

I was recommended this location from a co-worker. Everyone was so kind and professional. We order:…read moreCesar salad: a good normal salad, a good way to start. Risotto scallop truffle carpaccio: I never had truffles in large pieces like this before. I was exactly what I hoped for. The earthy woody flavor of the truffle, I like it. Australian ribeye Wagyu: delicious that's all I have to say! American Wagyu filet mignon: he said the flavor was so deep and perfect. Potato gratin with ham: so good! The slight salty taste of ham cuts the rich creamy and cheesy flavor. You don't taste the ham at first but if you pay attention you taste the slight hint. I loved it. Fresh cinnamon sugar donuts with bourbon caramel dipping sauce: it was fluffy and cake flavor and you can dip in the sauce to make it sweeter or eat it without. It was the perfect way to end the night.

We visited The Continental on a Sunday evening. Despite plenty of open tables and booths, we were…read moreseated in the middle of the patio close to other diners, and the nearby fan wasn't working on a humid evening. The staff were friendly, but the seating choice was puzzling given the available space. The yellowtail carpaccio was excellent and easily the highlight. The oysters were good, the poached oysters with caviar were underwhelming, and my wife's snapper was nicely prepared. My petite lobster tail was overcooked. The biggest disappointment was the 8 oz Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu at $35 per ounce, or $280 for the steak alone. Some bites were beautifully tender, while others were surprisingly chewy with fatty sections difficult to cut through. The recommended demi-glace arrived about five minutes late, leaving the steak cooling while we waited. A manager checked on us, and I mentioned both the missing glaze and overcooked lobster, but there was no follow-up. Having cooked A5 at home and enjoyed Japanese Wagyu elsewhere, this simply did not deliver the texture, consistency, or experience I expect at $35 an ounce. At nearly $700 for dinner, the issue isn't whether the clientele can afford it. At this level, a $280 A5 steak should still be exceptional and memorable. This wasn't. There were some good dishes, but the most expensive parts of the meal were the biggest misses. If steak is your priority, I'd sooner go to Eddie V's, Fleming's, or Jimmy P's.
