Japanese Fried Chicken w/ sriracha aioli, Garlic Noodles, Asian Sesame Salad

Love Moyzilla so much I had them in to cater at work! The booking was super easy, emailing with their team was prompt and helpful. The delivery team was punctual and knowledgeable - food arrived hot, delicious and on time and with plenty of sauces and utensils. They even offer more options on their catering menu vs. their regular truck menu (the Korean BBQ chicken and brussel sprouts were crack!) Everyone in my office is now a fan of Moyzilla. Already looking forward to the next time they're in the office...if I don't hunt the truck down first :)

    Vegetable dumplings meal box
    Anna X.

My co-worker and I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. The service here is very speedy so you don't have to worry about cutting into your lunch time! :- ) I ordered the vegetable dumplings meal box which came with four pieces of dumplings, a choice of rice or garlic noodles, and a side of vegetable slaw. My total came out to be $9.63. The dumplings were yummy, perfectly fried, and not at all greasy! They were filled with diced edamame, carrots, and cabbage. I was hoping for more dumplings, though! The rice it came with was plain but paired very well with the dumpling dipping sauce. The vegetable slaw was dry and pretty bland. Overall, I don't think it was worth the price but I'm glad I got to try this place out!

The yin and yang of Moyzilla: The noodles are garlicky, salty and tasty, but a bit mushy and wet for my liking. The fried chicken is very crispy even when topped with the mayonnaise based sauce, but I bit into unpleasant grizzle in nearly 1/3 of the pieces. I'd prefer white meat chicken to the dark meat - or at least do a better job trimming the dark meat. The slaw is refreshing given the heaviness of everything else. I almost forgot to mention the spring roll. It was crispy and a fine very average spring roll.

Quick and tasty! Moyzilla is a local food truck around the Boston area that serves some yummy easy-to-eat Asian fusion food. Garlic Noodles w/ Korean BBQ Chicken- It didn't taste like your typical Korean BBQ because it was really sweet (reminded me of Brazilian BBQ) but it was still delicious! The noodles was great and the napa cabbage was fresh. I felt like the portion was surprising small and didn't compensate the price. Overall Service: They seem to be well-staffed and really know how to move us worker bees along during lunchtime without loosing their friendly demeanor. Thumbs up.

Japanese fried karage chicken with garlic noodles $9

I been waiting to try Moyzilla since I kept reading the karage chicken is amazing!!! Unfortunately the experience fell short of my expectations. I even waited 30 minutes in line! While the pieces are very big, it was kind of dry inside. It was like fighting with the chicken itself trying to tear the piece off. If I was to eat the whole piece in one bite it would not be a pretty sight! The garlic noodles were okay, not too much taste. Would I go back? Probably not. My friend really liked it though. I've had a lot of karage chickens and she hasn't. Wish I had liked it more! Would be a good lunch option as it's not crazy expensive at $9 a combo. I ended up chucking half of the box...since I wasn't enjoying it. Just take a 5 min walk to chinatown and you can get something similar for half the price.

I was in the Copley Square area deciding which food truck to visit and saw this one with a long line. I knew it had to be good with that many people waiting. They offer dumplings and Japanese fried chicken meal boxes. I was a little disappointed there was not a meal box for both of these options so I had to order 2 sides which came to $11. Not too bad for good portions. I was not crazy about the dumplings, Chinatown takes the top prize in Boston for those. But the fried chicken with sriracha aioli was amazing and I would definitely get again! Definitely recommend this food truck. Wait was probably 15-20 mins combined standing in line and waiting for food.

We went to the sowa holiday market and had to choose between 4 foodtrucks. And Moyzilla looked the most appetizing. I ordered the Japanese fried chicken meal box which comes with garlic noodles and a cold-vinegar slaw. To be honest, my favorite part of this box was the slaw. It could be because the cold weather quickly made the food cold in the cardboard box. The noodles were legit garlic flavored.

Inside of the kimchi bulgogi cheesesteak special

I've gotten lunch here 3 times now, and I have to say this is probably some of the best fusion food truck food I've gotten in the small sphere of food trucks outside South Station. First, it's my duty to highlight the chicken. The fried chicken. The twice fried chicken. My first bite of the chicken is an orgasmic implosion of crunch and juice. Freshly made, the piping hot golden brown chicken is a must get. A great rendition of Japanese Karaage. Second, the dumplings. These were so so - definately can't beat places in chinatown but it's great variety to add to your meal. Third - the special. Kimchi bulgogi cheesesteak, a phrase straight out of my wildest imaginations. This is something you you just need to get if it's available as a special. If you're banger like me, you'll get this and a side of fried chicken. Oh baby, I better be doing cardio tonight! Cons: - Long lines: 20-30 min peak lunch from 12-1 - The 'meals' ($9) don't come with a lot of chicken or dumplings. They come with a lot of garlic noodles and side slaw- Very solid lunch, would definately recommend you try at least once if you're around the area.

This review is just for the Korean cheesy corn tots -- but they were amazing. Like "I just saw this on a K-drama and why isn't this in my life--oh wait, how did it just appear, this is magical..." amazing. Perfect balance of cheese, scallions, corn, and tots. 10/10, get these.

    Dumplings
    Jennifer R.

While the dumplings were just ok, I saw other peoples dishes and they looked amazing. I found the dumplings that I ordered to be under-seasoned, frozen tasting, and lukewarm. I will definitely try again if I see them around, but it wasn't a great first impression. It was a little sad considering i'm a HUGE gyoza connoisseur.

Dumping meal box with noodles and a spring roll
    Mike D.

The dumplings are good. Very good. Seared to a golden brown, moist and savory inside. Dipped in the soy sauce they give you, I could eat them for hours. I wouldn't have any problem with just ordering a couple sides of the dumplings alone, and skipping the noodles and other sides that come with the meal box. The slaw is meant to be a clean, refreshing counterpart to an otherwise heavy and salty dish, but it wasn't dressed enough for me. Just felt more like I was eating raw, hard lettuce that didn't blend well with the rest of the ingredients in the box. If I could swap out the slaw with the noodles, I'd prefer that. The noodles are a great base to the meal box. A greasy, slightly garlicky, savory distraction to help you ration the dumplings so you can run out of noodles at the same time you run out of dumplings. They bring out some flavor in the slaw if you mix them together. For an extra dollar you can add a spring roll. It's a standard spring roll; nothing incredible but still tasty. Worth the extra dollar. It's a great way to use the rest of the sesame ginger soy dipping sauce, after your dumplings have been annihilated. Overall a very strong truck: one of the better trucks in Boston. Great food, it comes out fast, and the staff is polite: "Have a good meal!" as they give you your food. For a quick-service food truck, I can look past the undressed slaw to give them a solid four stars. A fair warning, the line for this truck gets extremely long. Show up early!

Staff was very knowledgeable about each entree, and provided information about how entrees were cooked and served. They also had a "halvsies" menu of half-size portions (ideal portions for one or two diners). Started with the Mama Chang Pork Dumplings, which were excellent, and the cauliflower appetizer (a little spicy, but very good). Liked the udon noodles with chicken and bok choy, although a little less red chili pepper would have suited my tastes better (good for those who like a bit of zing to their food). The lettuce wrap chicken was well worth the 20-minute wait. Finished with the lemon ginger mousse, which was very light. The fortune cookie on the mousse was fresh and crisp, so good that some thought it might have been baked at Joanne Chang's Flour Cafe and Bakery. The finish was extra nice, with a red lucky envelope with chocolates accompanying the check, an orange at each table (signs for good fortune in the New Year), and red decorations hanging in the restaurant to create a festive setting. Good choice for the start of the New Lunar Year of the Fire Horse!

The interior is very cool, cozy, and the cool red paint design on the glass windows makes it all feel very charming and comfortable. We did have a bit of a wait for our table despite having reservations. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share between the 4 of us - scallion pancake, bourbon chicken wings, spicy salmon rolls, pork belly buns, sliced beef, eggplant, hot n sour soup, golden potato and lemongrass soup. I think my favorite of those was the eggplant dish - perfectly cooked and flavorful with ginger and soy. Wings were good too. The soups were nice I liked the hot n sour one. The lemongrass soup was a creamy one quite tasty but also quite filling and rich. For entrees, we ordered the roasted soy glazed salmon, the Indonesian fried rice, bok choy and surf and turf noodles. Everything was good. We were all so full and also had leftovers. But decided to order dessert too - everyone loved the vanilla bean ice cream (the menu described it as a parfait) with orange granita - really generous too - 3 scoops of ice cream and the orange sorbet which was more granular than a sorbet more like very finely crushed ice. Very refreshing! The banana caramel crème brûlée was really good too - nice and creamy. The lemon ginger mousse was very creamy but I thought had a bit too much of ginger. I think the deserts were hands down everyone's favorite part of the meal despite everyone pretty much denying they wanted any! Service was very friendly by our server Julie who was delightful! Lovely young lady. Overall great experience!!

When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!

Will definitely find a reason to come back here soon. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] STIR-FRIED CABBAGE W/ PORK BELLY (5/5) Presentation was phenomenal (in a clay pot with its own burner underneath to keep it hot). The portion was much larger than expected, and most importantly, it tasted incredible. Generous amounts of pork in this, and the sauce was authentic and addicting. 2. SCALLION CHICKEN (5/5) Another great choice. This was a huge portion with lots of tender chicken, and the scallion was present without being overpowering. 3. CRISPY BEEF WITH FRIED DOUGH STICKS (5/5) I was expecting Chinese you tiao but these were actually the small, ultra crispy manhua twists! Paired with the beef, this was a large and unique dish that I loved. The crispiness of the mahua made this a textural delight to eat. 4. MANGO SAGO DESSERT (5/5) Big portion, wonderful assortment of toppings including grapefruit, mango, sago, and popping balls over a creamy dessert soup base. 5. PEKING DUCK (4/5) I think I'm a tough critic since I just came back from Beijing and had so much Peking duck there. We ordered the half portion here and it had a generous amount of meat for not being the full portion. There were an assortment of accompaniments, including pineapple (new to me) and sugar (like the Beijing style) which were welcome additions. The wrappers were steamed well and didn't curl up on the edges. Overall this was a solid Peking duck, but the meat wasn't as standout as I was hoping. 6. STEAMED PORK SOUP DUMPLING (4/5) Solid soup dumplings. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely hit the spot. 7. SAUTEED PEA SPROUTS (4/5) Another solid classic. 8. PORK MEATBALL IN CRAB MEAT SAUCE (4/5) This was the most unique thing we ordered. I've never had a shi zi tou meatball with crab meat sauce before. The meatball itself was large (maybe size of a tennis ball), tender, and fatty, as it should be. It was then drowned in a generous lake of traditional crab meat sauce. If you're not a fan of crab meat then this might be a bit too fishy for you, but honestly it all combined surprisingly well and I grew to like this dish more and more with each bite. I wasn't the biggest fan to start, but by the end I wouldn't have minded getting another one! ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * The interior has the classic Asian style of decor, but you can tell it was recently built / renovated because everything felt new and fresh. * The ambiance also felt more new-school luxurious vs. the typical Asian establishments that are more no-frills with as many tables packed in as possible * You're still somewhat close to the tables around you, but it's not overwhelming during lunch time and we still felt like we had enough space regardless * There's a bar area at the front of the restaurant and then a large, spacious dining room in the back * This is a great place for a date or a meaningful family gathering * Right outside is Boston Common, making this restaurant very well-located for lunch before or after a nice day in the park. While there's lots of parking around the park, a spot itself can be hard to come by, so your best bet might be to use the nearby parking garage instead ------ SERVICE: * Overall the service was great and quick. They did forget our tea, but when we asked for it later they apologized profusely and were quick to bring it out for us * This place fills up quickly so be sure to come early if you don't have a reservation or if you're a big enough group, make a reservation for your desired dining time

I got everything mild with sauces on the side and that was definitely the way to go. The chicken manchurian is quite hot/spicy even at the mild level so I was glad about the mild selection.

There was a great singer, pianist, and sax player to really set the mood. They were super fun, especially when a couple got engaged! To start, I got their ginger martini and while my friend went with a Do-er neat (not a whiskey drinker myself, lol). He tried to order 2 of their beers but they were out of both. My drink came after 15 mins and then we had to remind the waiter about his whiskey. That took another 10. We started with the chicken bao buns and the samosas. Both spectacular! My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.

We also tried the gambas and the tortilla, and everything was seasoned to perfection. Can't wait to come back!! We came during lunch so although it was busy, it was doable! The food here was exceptional. We came on a Thursday, and it was already getting packed. I highly…read morerecommend reservations whenever possible. We ordered an order of the patatas bravas, paella, fried octopus (daily special), and the empanada. The fried octopus was insanely tender; I've never had octopus that soft, and it tasted like calamari. The empanada was crispy and flavorful, served with a wonderful sauce. Paella was delicious, with a great sausage included. My biggest gripe was the patatas bravas. We did order it "brava bomb" style, and I feel like it not bad, but it took away from the crispy texture that you would normally expect from patatas bravas. However, the pork belly that is included in this "brava bomb" was insanely crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I did have to knock the reviews down a bit based off the restaurant's lack of cleanliness. We saw 2 bugs during our meal: one small ladybug, and another huge fly the size of my thumb. I wished I had left room for dessert though, but absolutely loved the food and service here. But next time, I will make a reservation and request to sit a little further away from the door and the bugs.
