The first time I ordered poutine, it was good. However, the second time, it's mediocre cause I wasn't given enough gravy! All the fries soaked up what little gravy there was and the fries were pretty dry and not tasty. I ordered delivery so can't ask for extra gravy. I know how poutine is supposed to be served and taste, so it's disappointing that a Canadian franchise wouldn't make sure their poutine is up to par. Unacceptable. There should be more gravy and all the cheese shouldn't be in one clump, it should be tossed equally within the fries and gravy equally. At least they do use cheese curds, unlike other American restaurants pathetic attempt at adding poutine to their menus and using just regular cheese, rather than Quebec cheese curds, which are a must, when making an authentic actual poutine. Of course if they didn't, that would be sacrilegious since Moxies was a, once very popular Canadian chain of restaurants. Judging from the reviews at Canadian Moxies lately, and the opinion of friends who once liked them.... they seem to have gone downhill in quality. This restaurant is mediocre itself, at best. The only thing that I've liked here is the first poutine I tried, so, it's been disappointing in taste and quality, and consistency.. for the most part. But Moxies used to be a lot better back in the day, in Canada. I've heard they don't care so much about the quality of the food and the type of food dishes they offer, not very tasty, and that it's more of a place to go for drinks and maybe apps now, not appropriate for a lovely super tasty dinner out anymore. Not by people who don't frequent fast food chains and basic restaurants. Maybe my taste has exceeded moxies tho too, and maybe I only liked it when I was much younger and didn't have as refined a palate. Poutine isn't something I ordered often, but it has its moments, if done well. And at a whopping 15 bucks US, it should be the best, most authentic, well prepared Poutine ever! Unless maybe it was a gigantic family size or something maybe, No Canadian would ever pay this much for a single regular poutine in Canada. Even McDonald's does poutine in Canada. It's not expensive to make! So at least include enough gravy and supplement with a side of gravy to be added when it arrives so it will taste fresher that way too. If you want to experience an authentic Canadian/Quebec poutine, this is the closest you will get in America, tho. Better to eat in then order delivery tho, unless you ask for an extra side of gravy so you can freshen it up and make sure it's got an authentic amount of gravy and taste best. read more

First time and last. Service was very poor and if it wasn't new years our group would have left. 10 min just to get water, rarely got refills on water and was never asked if we needed refills on other drinks. The waitress kept disappearing and seemed very flustered but wasn't busy. Most of the employees were gathered in kitchen not doing much. Now the food is another issue they had a new years special which is fine but it was $75 for a 3 course meal and the choices involved items that normally would cost around $40-$50 and they "encouraged" customers to order from their special. The rigatoni I ordered smelled and tasted like hamburger helper except that I would have preferred hamburger helper bc the chicken was insanely dry. After being served food our cups were empty our food disappointing and no waitress to be found. Overall very unhappy with service and food and will happily not return. read more

Decided to try out this place for brunch. We did enjoy the food, however service could be improved. They have this dress code where all waitresses are required to wear heels. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the service, but I could tell our waitress Courtney did not look comfortable and moved slow (which I don't really blame her). It took us forever to get our bill and then wait for our cc to be picked up. We ended up calling another staff member to check us out as our waitress never showed up. We might give this place one more try since we liked to food, and hopefully service will be better next time read more

All I can say is wow. The food is as good as it gets. Our waitress, Paige was phenomenal with her service, and Bailey was just as great when filling our drinks and backing up Paige when she needed him to fill in. Paige had a great attitude and made sure that our experience at Moxies was one of a kind. We started out with the calamari and that was just getting us started on the deliciousness. I needed up getting the chipotle mango chicken, which was a piece of art, props to the kitchen, and we ended with the white chocolate brownie, which just melted in our mouths. Came here on a whim, excellent service everyone is super friendly. The place is awesome the vibe is so nice. Our server was Regan she's phenomenal, so sweet so attentive! We ordered drinks. by far the worst experience in the food service industry i've EVER received. It was my friends birthday and we had gone out to celebrate, we come in on a Saturday night and we are all excited because the place looks nice and welcoming and we were hungry but little did we know that was NOT AT ALL the case. we get seated and our server takes 15 minutes to greet us, she gets our drinks and we wait an additional 20 MINUTES for her to come back to us for her to get our appetizer order. and I had ordered nachos that took 45 MINUTES TO COME OUT. the worst part was that they were the most mediocre nachos, barely any pico came on them and there were only cheese on the top and the bottom was just dry chips. our entrees took another 30 minutes to come out and the food runner seemed like she hated her job and had an attitude. Then the party was just sitting there for a while after we were finished our food, we stop our server and ask her if we can tab out and she made a minor mistake of mixing tabs which i'm not at all mad about, but when we were getting our tab fixed her co worker or maybe manager had a stick up her behind having so much attitude towards us when we were explaining how to split our tabs and had a crazy amount of sarcasm along with it. We were not at all satisfied with our visit or even wanted to discuss the matter with a manager because we were so fed up we just wanted to leave and never intend on coming back. Working in the food service industry if i had given that horrendous to my guests i would've gotten fired. Our server i believe her name was isa was doing the best she could and had a large section and i don't blame her for this situation at all I blame the management and the organization laid out in this restaurant. I frequent Moxie's Southlake location and it's always a fantastic experience. The food, the service and the vibe are excellent. I was expecting a similar experience when I took out of town guests to the Plano location. The experience was horrible. The food was okay but the service was some of the worst I have had anywhere. We had to ask for everything including asking to order drinks, appetizers, entrees, silverware, etc. The restaurant was not busy and employees were standing around. The bartender had been MIA for over 10 minutes when another employee walked up behind the bar. I politely asked her if we could get more drinks and she told me she was the chef, rolled her eyes at me and glared at me. She never offered to help or find someone who could help. Let me start off with the positives. The place is clean! The waitresses are nice, but they are terrible when it comes to service. This is the 3rd time and probably the last time i will go there. We waited 10 minutes before any waiter or waitress came by. We ordered 4 drinks and waited another 20 minutes to get them. Wtf! The service was so bad that we didn't even want to order another round of the baby blue whiskey. Shame of the management and the poor service. The only thing that came out promptly was the food.
