Customer service was cool. The wait staff was nice and stylish. The atmosphere was awesome. The food was - okay to me. I attended for restaurant week the last week of August. It looked great but I just wasn't feeling the taste of the food. I may go back and order other food items. read more

Moxies - Lounges Near Me - Plano, Texas

Terrible experience. Avoid this restaurant. There's too many better restaurants in the area to warrant giving this one your business. First off, I arrived and there was no one at the hostess table, but a group of employees pow-wowing at a nearby booth. I wait about 5 minutes (with a reservation) for a hostess to come over and finally get seated. We came for happy hour, and were provided no happy hour menus. We ask our server about happy hour, it takes about 15 minutes for him to "check" if they have happy hour (it's very clearly listed on the restaurant's website..), and bring us the happy hour menu. We order drinks and 2 apps from the happy hour menu. Receive our drinks but no food. After 45 minutes with no food, we're finally told there's an issue with one of the apps we order, and the manager will come speak to us about it. We find out one of the apps we ordered isn't available - why it took 45 minutes to find this out, is beyond me. The manager tells us he will comp us a regular app for free to make up for it. Fine, totally works for us. We order a second round of drinks - nope, they're out of this drink. So we order a different one instead. Also fine. We finally receive our food. Server would disappear for about 15-20 minutes on end. We debated having another drink but at this point we were done. Abysmal operations and abysmal service. When we receive our check, the wrong app is comped - our server comped the happy hour (aka cheaper app), instead of the app the manager told us would be comped. Honestly just laughable. Will NOT return. Jacob - ensure you and your staff do better. What a joke. read more

Our first visit to Plano Moxie's was great. the atmosphere, service, and food were stellar. The steak salad was fantastic and a new favorite. Drinks were delicious...definitely recommend the Mai Tai. Our server Ashleigh L made great recommendations and had a great personality! We will request her next time, which will be soon! read more

I recently visited a Moxies for the first time in the Southlake location. So when I was in Plano I decided it was a must to try a second location. I ordered the same thing on the menu, my husband ordered Salmon. This was a different experience altogether. Southlake was incredible this was not! From staff to presentation to flavor was a major step down in quality. Southlake's roasted butternut squash was actually roasted and seasoned Plano's was cold and undercooked, Salmon which we were told was prepared medium rare was well done, everything was poorly plated compared to Southlake. Steak Bites were over sauced and the dipping sauces were nothing like the other location. Oh and the appetizer, the calamari was super greasy. I saw the management at Southlake constantly scanning the room, but never saw management at all and this on a Sunday at 12:45. I should have suspected exactly what we got due to the 2/3 empty restaurant during the lunch hour. 3 appetizers,1 entree and I side of butternut squash $125.00. If you don't believe go to Southlake review mostly 4 and 5 star reviews. read more

Moxies - Chicken Madeira Rigatoni - Lounges Near Me - Plano, Texas

Decided to try out this place for brunch. We did enjoy the food, however service could be improved. They have this dress code where all waitresses are required to wear heels. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the service, but I could tell our waitress Courtney did not look comfortable and moved slow (which I don't really blame her). It took us forever to get our bill and then wait for our cc to be picked up. We ended up calling another staff member to check us out as our waitress never showed up. We might give this place one more try since we liked to food, and hopefully service will be better next time read more

I really enjoyed Moxies! From the moment you walk through the door you will see this is a beautiful restaurant! The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable. I had the Calamari and it was absolutely amazing!! I have had Calamari all over the country and Moxies was one of if not the best of the best!! Everything on the menu is delicious! From the steaks on down, the fanciest of fancy of steak houses does have anything over Moxies! read more

All I can say is wow. The food is as good as it gets. Our waitress, Paige was phenomenal with her service, and Bailey was just as great when filling our drinks and backing up Paige when she needed him to fill in. Paige had a great attitude and made sure that our experience at Moxies was one of a kind. We started out with the calamari and that was just getting us started on the deliciousness. I needed up getting the chipotle mango chicken, which was a piece of art, props to the kitchen, and we ended with the white chocolate brownie, which just melted in our mouths. All I can say about this place is that is a great restaurant to come to for all occasions and to defiantly watch a game or two. read more

A friend chose Moxie's for a gathering to celebrate different achievements amongst our group of friends. Friendly staff, I think we arrived during a shift change but smooth transition. Happy hour menu was pretty decent, but it didn't last long. Guac is made fresh and very tasty. The poutine was really good and flavorful! Great ambiance will definitely be back. read more

The first time I ordered poutine, it was good. However, the second time, it's mediocre cause I wasn't given enough gravy! All the fries soaked up what little gravy there was and the fries were pretty dry and not tasty. I ordered delivery so can't ask for extra gravy. I know how poutine is supposed to be served and taste, so it's disappointing that a Canadian franchise wouldn't make sure their poutine is up to par. Unacceptable. There should be more gravy and all the cheese shouldn't be in one clump, it should be tossed equally within the fries and gravy equally. At least they do use cheese curds, unlike other American restaurants pathetic attempt at adding poutine to their menus and using just regular cheese, rather than Quebec cheese curds, which are a must, when making an authentic actual poutine. Of course if they didn't, that would be sacrilegious since Moxies was a, once very popular Canadian chain of restaurants. Judging from the reviews at Canadian Moxies lately, and the opinion of friends who once liked them.... they seem to have gone downhill in quality. This restaurant is mediocre itself, at best. The only thing that I've liked here is the first poutine I tried, so, it's been disappointing in taste and quality, and consistency.. for the most part. But Moxies used to be a lot better back in the day, in Canada. I've heard they don't care so much about the quality of the food and the type of food dishes they offer, not very tasty, and that it's more of a place to go for drinks and maybe apps now, not appropriate for a lovely super tasty dinner out anymore. Not by people who don't frequent fast food chains and basic restaurants. Maybe my taste has exceeded moxies tho too, and maybe I only liked it when I was much younger and didn't have as refined a palate. Poutine isn't something I ordered often, but it has its moments, if done well. And at a whopping 15 bucks US, it should be the best, most authentic, well prepared Poutine ever! Unless maybe it was a gigantic family size or something maybe, No Canadian would ever pay this much for a single regular poutine in Canada. Even McDonald's does poutine in Canada. It's not expensive to make! So at least include enough gravy and supplement with a side of gravy to be added when it arrives so it will taste fresher that way too. If you want to experience an authentic Canadian/Quebec poutine, this is the closest you will get in America, tho. Better to eat in then order delivery tho, unless you ask for an extra side of gravy so you can freshen it up and make sure it's got an authentic amount of gravy and taste best. read more

Brooklyn was the BEST!! Not only was she a great server and took care of us with no issues, but her outgoing personality made our experience even better than expected. 10/10 service read more

First time and last. Service was very poor and if it wasn't new years our group would have left. 10 min just to get water, rarely got refills on water and was never asked if we needed refills on other drinks. The waitress kept disappearing and seemed very flustered but wasn't busy. Most of the employees were gathered in kitchen not doing much. Now the food is another issue they had a new years special which is fine but it was $75 for a 3 course meal and the choices involved items that normally would cost around $40-$50 and they "encouraged" customers to order from their special. The rigatoni I ordered smelled and tasted like hamburger helper except that I would have preferred hamburger helper bc the chicken was insanely dry. After being served food our cups were empty our food disappointing and no waitress to be found. Overall very unhappy with service and food and will happily not return. read more

Came in on a Wednesday night and sat in the lounge area.. was greeted by our server Jamella. This was my first experience at a Moxie's.. it was still happy hour and our server recommended we try the margarita or the old fashioned on the happy hour list. We ordered one of each. They were amazing! Jamella was so attentive to our needs... in fact my wife made a comment about wanting Starbucks coffee... Jamella ended up going to the hotel to grab my wife just that... I would have liked to have seen a better cut of meat for the high end steak. At $45 I was expecting to be impressed. It just wasn't what I expect from a quality restaurant for the price. Moxies - Lounges Near Me - Plano, Texas

Let me start off with the positives. The place is clean! The waitresses are nice, but they are terrible when it comes to service. This is the 3rd time and probably the last time i will go there. We waited 10 minutes before any waiter or waitress came by. We ordered 4 drinks and waited another 20 minutes to get them. Wtf! The service was so bad that we didn't even want to order another round of the baby blue whiskey. Shame of the management and the poor service. The only thing that came out promptly was the food. Corporate should investigate this location. I am sure that I am not the only person that continually gets bad service here. If they are wondering why this place isn't making forecasted revenue, it's because of the service. read more
