Do not use them. They broke my daughter's bed a few different of my lampshades and recently I have realized that a $500 vacuum that I have is broken as well. I recall seeing them try to pick it up and it fell. Not to mention one of them tried to pick up a marble top table by in the wood legs began to crack. Now don't give me wrong. They worked very hard, but they were careless. On several occasions, one of the gentleman was on his phone scrolling while I was paying per hour. When I called to complain about it one of the first things, the person said to me was did you bother to call and say anything about it in the middle of your move so we could've done anything? And I said yes, I and they told me to say something very nicely to the man on the phone. I hired Movers of Houston a few months ago and they damaged my practically brand new 65" curve TV. The movers and their manager whom I talked to over the phone assured me that their insurance will cover the full replacement value and that I shouldn't worry and just file the claim. So I did, once the claim response came in I saw that they only want to pay me $30 for the $1100 TV. I called and try to reason with them and give them plenty of opportunities to make this right but they won't take any steps towards doing the right thing and keeping their promise. I'm getting ready to take legal action. In addition the movers were slow and they admitted that they are pacing themselves since they don't want to burn themselves out. We ended up with three large debts and a scratch on the refrigerator. When we called the company, we were told we would receive a claim form via email. After not having received the form via email, I sent a follow up email and to date, still no response. So glad I didn't allow them to move fragile items. I purchased 4 men and (2) 26ft trucks. (1) 26ft truck and a 14 ft truck pulled up at my home. There's automatically a 2hr minimal for $220 and then $220 an hr thereafter charge. All the huge items were ready to go, which was all I needed them to take. 2 of the men were lazy as hell. Taking smoke breaks, sit down breaks, and sometimes I couldn't find them. They almost flooded out my old home by not disconnecting the water from the refrigerator, water was gushing everywhere. Then we leave to go the new home, both trucks stop to get gas at 2 different locations (3 miles apart). Crazy part is, one gassed up and had to turn around and go give money to the other truck so they can get gas. (mind you, time is ticking) While unloading at the new house, they hit every wall downstairs and upstairs, leaving dents and scraping paint off the walls. They didn't cover up anything of my items to prevent that. One of the idiots was utilizing vulgar language in English and Spanish, and my children were around. Lastly, the smallest guy (weigh about 110) had my huge (not the normal size) refrigerator on the smallest dolly, walking down the ramp of the truck. 2 idiots were guiding him. When he's about to turn to come up the driveway, the entire refrigerator fell on him, the 2 idiots looked at him for a minute before helping him...smh. The only thing saved him from being crushed was that small dolly. I only rated them a 1 was because, their supervisor didn't charge me the 4 1/2 hrs they were actually working and he did have someone to repair the (25) dents and scrapes of my walls. Never ever will I use this company or refer them to anyone! I hope after they see this review, that they will retrain their workers on the correct way to move items! Do. Not. Hire. When I booked them a few weeks before the move (650 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment), I was quoted a $79 fuel fee and $110/ hour with a 2 hour minimum. Fine. The day before the move, I had to call them to confirm, since I hadn't heard anything from them. When the two movers arrived, they reeked of weed--which, for me, is not a deal breaker. As long as you can do your job, do you. The problem was, they apparently WEREN'T able to do their job. They broke a chest of drawers and a bookshelf (which both had to be thrown away), and damaged a painting made for me by a friend before he passed away. On top of that, when they came back to load up the last items, I was asked if I were going to pay with cash or Zelle. Never once when I was booking was I told that I would have to pay cash. When I told them I'd planned to pay with a credit card, one guy said "How are we supposed to get paid?" That is between you and your boss, my dude. I called the office, and was told "I'll take care of it on my end. You just go on about your day." When we arrived at the new place, office dude still hadn't talked to the movers, so they called someone else (not sure who), who informed me that they would, in fact, take a credit card... for a fee. DO NOT do what I did. Stay away. So, I was desperate and fell for the $55/hour lure on Craigslist. They charged me a $49.95 non-refundable "fuel" fee upfront, but as I had gotten quotes from other movers, this was in line with what I had been seeing. I paid it. I was scheduled for a move between 8 and 10. At 10, I called, and was told me appointment was from 12 to 2. Anyway, they finally show up, and it took them 20 minutes to maneuver their moving truck around to load everything up. There were two men. As soon as I sign the paperwork and they notate the time, I notice only one guy has even started moving up the stairs (note: I have a 3-story townhouse, and told them that when I got the quote). It turns out one of the movers wouldn't climb the stairs because he was afraid of heights! I understand phobias... but why are you sending an acrophobic to work on a three-story home? So mover #1 decide he's going to try to move the items from the third floor by himself, which means him pushing sliding things down the stairs. I had a mild protest, and he said he would use a dolly (on the stairs?)... the dolly was going to scratch the hardwood stairs, so that was a no-go. I ended up having to help move my own things that I was paying to have someone else move. The guy on the first floor had begun moving boxes out. BUT THEN... Mover #1 says he injured himself... and I started to say, "OK, this is over," but he said he was OK enough to continue the job. He started moving at a SNAIL'S pace. Remember, I am being charged by the hour... and they are already late and I have to be out by a certain time. So I start moving things outside to speed them up. Finally, they get everything loaded... Now, here's the best part: we meet at the new place, where they miraculously unloaded in like 40 minutes. Mover #1 says to me: "We work on tips, and if you can tip us good, like $40 each, I can wipe $115 of this off the books for you." Think about that for a second. Not only did he waste my time, try to screw over his own employer by getting cash from me, but he isn't even good at math, because that would have only saved me $30. But I was done with the shadiness and just told him they were each getting $20... do what you have to do. He called his boss to "cash out" before they would begin unloading. They charged to my card on file, and they only charged me for three hours, which came to less than $200 (which I think was reasonable). Had the charge been more, I would have raised all sorts of hell and disputed the charge. As I am typing this, I am realizing I didn't even get a receipt. Jesus. STAY AWAY. read more

I wish I could writ a better review on this company but I just cannot.While the worked very hard all day they ended up damaging some of my belongings beyond repair. How do you break a concrete plaque or a LED Tv? Then cover the tv up with towels I guess so we wouldn't see it. Then stains all over my sofa! When I reached out to them regarding the damages they told me I would need to submit a claim form. Little did I know was that the insurance will only paid $.60 per pound item damaged. I had them move my 1 bedroom apartment back in May. This is one of the worst moving company I've dealt with. First of all they showed up late. Ok no big deal. Then they didn't have tool to take the bed apart when I specifically told them there's a bed to be moved. Did they expect me to keep my toolbox out there even I had packed up everything else? Fine. So we got to moving and these guys complained about the stair the whole way, which was of course disclosed before booking. These thing are only just building up to the worst part. When we got to the destination, they parked the truck and want me to sign the time sheet before they would move my stuff out of the truck. And of course the time is greatly inflated. It took them an hour to load up and got to the new place, and they wanted me to sign a 3 hour time sheet on the spot. One of the guy told me them would refund me if we end up using less time. I had no choice but paying because they essentially held my stuff hostage and demand payment like a group of kidnappers. At the end the whole process took less than 2 hours. But of course they never refund the money. I called them to revolve and they just hung up. My point is: THESE ARE THUGS AND CRIMINALS. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. This company moved 1 person's belongings from a 3 bed 2 bath house on June 6, 2018. This reviewer was not present during the move. When I returned to the home on June 10, 2018, I found a television missing and oil stains on the carpet throughout the halls and bedrooms of the home. Carpet cleaning professionals have not been able to remove the stains at all and the carpet will now have to be replaced. When confronted by telephone, Adrian stated the company denies any knowledge or damage. She said she would have the operations manager call me back to discuss but have not returned my calls. Police say this is a civil matter, not a criminal matter and encouraged me to take the roommate and Movers of Houston to Civil Court. I did not choose this company and wouldn't have chosen any mover with the reviews seen before my own. Strongly encourage you to find another service provider. I highly recommend not utilizing this company. I came across them from Thumbtack after reading some positive reviews. They charge $50 nonrefundable booking fee and $65/hour after that. I lived in 2 bedroom apartment with 1 bedroom unfurnished except for a bed and was moving 1.5 mi away to a 1 bedroom apartment. The movers (Hermilo and Dal'Vanere showed up to my place around 9a. They showed up with no tools to take apart furniture (specifically my bed frame). At one point, I was cleaning out my refrigerator and offered them a bottle of gin to take with them since I was just going to toss it. I left for 30 minutes to get the keys to my new apartment and they were drinking the gin when I had returned. They also were extremely slow it took them almost 3 hours to load my stuff onto the truck. One mover would carry one picture frame (unwrapped) to the truck at a time. They unloaded my couch, kitchen table and small side tables at Good Will (5 minute drive from my apartment) so this made the trip to my new place to unload tentatively quicker. Also, I had a friend with me who helped move big boxes and even the mattress. When we got to my new place, Hermilo called his boss to charge me for 5 hours. This amount turned out to be $325 + tax = $351.81. They still took their time. I noticed they were slamming down boxes which in turn broke my wine glasses, antique plates. They broke the middle leg on an $800 dresser. One mover was extremely rude and unprofessional. They brought in dirt off their shoes on my new carpet. They did not even put together my bedframe because they said they didn't have the tools nor did they have enough time. I called multiple times that next week to speak with the supervisor and was told he/she was unavailable (07/14, 07/17). I finally called on 07/23/18 and told them I would show up if I didn't speak to the supervisor or manager today. Gia (supervisor) called me back a few hours later. I explained to her my situation with the lack of professionalism, dirt everywhere, drinking alcohol on the job, broken dresser, broken dishes, no tools, lack of efficiency, bedframe not put together, etc. She was unwilling to compensate or offer any solution. She was abrupt and did not support the customer in this scenario. She said they would send me an email for the broken items only. One of the movers also told me the other one was a felon. read more

Quoted and hired Movers of Houston on 4/25. They quote me $49.94 for one-time trip fee + 55 hourly. At the date of moving, they were one hour late, ( ok, no big deal ), starving moving at 4 pm, finish packing at 5:15 pm and got to apartment at 5:25 pm. ( It's only 1.5 miles and roughly 6 mins drives ). The driver started to ask my credit card info which they already have because they charged me the trip fee the same day I booked, then drivers said he needed to wait for office confirmation before the move. So we WAITED FOR 20 MINS. At 5:45 pm, he asked me to sign invoice as $178.61 ( 3 hours service ). I told him I don't need 3 hours because I only have one TV, one sofa, one Ikea queen bed + couple boxes and they don't need to assemble for me. The driver said it's better for them otherwise they will ask me to sign another invoice if they overtime and they will give me credit back because office people will know when they finish job based on the tracker in the car ( BIG LIE ). They finished work at 6:20 PM, which for me is 2 hours total ( including 20 mins waiting time ). However, I got charge for 3 full hour service, and they HANG OUT ON ME WHENEVER I ASKED THEM BILLING ISSUE. Moving was ok but BE CAREFUL WHAT THEY ASK YOU SIGN. read more

I would give them "NEGATIVE" five stars if I could. Their business model is to give you a excellent deal up front and then scoop the money they lose during and after the move with various tactics. I paid 49.44 booking fee up front and was supposed to pay $59/hour. Problems were: 1. Two guys showed up. One guy worked hard, but the other guy (so-called captain) didn't. They ended up stretching their working hours by working painfully slowly. So where is the saving? 2. Before unloading, the captain made me pay for the rest of the time based on the "estimated" time to complete. I said what if I paid you more. He said the company would refund you the difference. I even spoke with the manager over the phone. I paid for it and gave them a go sign. I even provided the movers with dinner and nice tips. They never refunded the money. I called them and spoke with a lady. She said she will take care of it. Never happened. I ended up disputing the difference through my CC company. They sent a copy of the invoice where they never put their dirty secret. 3. They scratched my dinner table and stainless steel fridge. They also dented the corner of my front door. They will NOT bother to disassemble your table and such when they know they are too big to pass through the door. They will "force" stuff to go through. I used them last minute because another mover did not show up. The 3 guys dropped our expensive 450lb gun safe, completely damaging it, even though we told them this was one of our large items, they should have brought a bigger dolly and strapped it in. They didn't wrap any of our furniture and so it all was gross and sweaty and we had to have our things professionally cleaned afterwards. They broke one of the bed's box springs and scratched up/chipped other wood pieces. Filed my claim at the end of June and were told it would be 4-6 weeks but now we are at the end of August and despite multiple attempts to contact them, the only response we get is that it is being processed, at 9 weeks, I am thinking we will have to take them to small claims court. read more

Please do not use this company! They are not part of Movers of San Antonio. They moved me on Saturday and since then it has been a nightmare. They damaged my friends vehicle, they charged me for time when they were not working including when they sat down to eat (which I fed them), and driving time when it was already included in the advance payment I gave them and supposedly there truck was messing up en route from point A to Point B; I caught one of them going into my refrigerator a couple of times, they didn't pack everything in the truck, when there was plenty of space, which in turn caused me to have to do 2 additional trips. It took them 5 hours to load a 1 bedroom apartment and it was brought to my attention that they were smoking weed on the job. When I spoke to the supervisor Gerard on Saturday he began to argue with me and then started wheeling and dealing with me, and one of the drivers called me the next day to see if he could go and pick up some of the items that I left at the old apartment if he could have them. When I called and finally spoke with Gia the supervisor and told her everything she wanted to hold me responsible and has since blocked my number even though she is supposed to be investigating the situation. Please, please, do not put yourself in this position, they seem very dangerous unprofessional moving company especially for women. Please do not use them. In addition, the movers are not skillful and damaged my front door, fridge, and dining table (they didn't bother to disassemble the table). Besides, they made me pay for the entire payment before they started unloading based on the "estimated" time for unloading. I asked them what if the actual time would take less than estimated. They said they will refund the difference. Indeed, they got all done 45 minutes earlier. They said the company would refund. Never happened. Called them and requested a refund. They said they will. I called the company, who told me "You'll be getting two of our most seasons guys,k great movers that have done years of moving". Well, that was 50% truthful. On the day of the move, two guys show up. One was a seasoned mover, who new what he was doing, and had been moving furniture for several years. The other guy was brand new, as was told to me by the seasoned guy. The new guy had been moving furniture for only a few weeks. During the move, the new guy scratched our dinette table, banged our head board that went with our King size set (and caused cracks in the wood), and cracked the corner of our dining room table. Lastly, he dropped something heavy on our brand new homes' hard wood floor, and caused a deep dent. The house is brand new. I let all of this slide, because both guys were really nice, and I even tipped them...it was an 8hr move, a back breaking one, so I wanted to do something to show my appreciation for their hard work. But nevertheless, damage was cause by a few mistakes they made. After about 8 weeks, I looked at the hard wood floor gash, and felt that with the other damaged items, were all enough to finally make me do something about it and seek financial recourse. Perhaps I should have pursed this right after it happen, and not wait over 2 months. But I was letting it slide, I didn't want to get the main guy in trouble, he did nothing wrong. I guess eventually I just had enough with looking at the various damaged pieces and my hard wood floor. So I called the company. I have left them 4 messages for nearly a week now. Zero responses. No surprise given the ethic and conduct of most companies these days. So ask yourself, if the move goes bad and they damage things, do you want to leave 4 voicemails that go unanswered? God knows we can never replace that phone. I wish I could give zero stars. I had a terrible experience with Movers of Houston. It was literally a rip off. Myself my visitors (my mom and aunt over the age of 60) literally had to help my unproductive movers move 50% of my load to a 2nd. Floor Apt. They seemed to send 2 young inexperienced workers who took a simple bed and table apart, but took hours to put things back together. They were given simple screwdrivers and advised me that any power tools were their own personal ones and as soon as the unload started they complained the battery died in the power drill and took excessive time within the home struggling to put two pieces of furniture together. After taking 3 hours to load a ONE BDRM. APT. They asked me for the remaining portion of what I owed for my trip fee in CASH.before they'd unlock the truck to unload and we demanded they contact their boss and complained and he said we could just add remaining trip fee to the "estimated" total hrs billed and demanded credit cards payment prior to unloading. WHY WAS I ASKED FOR CASH BY EMPLOYEES??? I made the call the supervisor on the spot and complained about beirg asked for cash aa well as the quality of the first half ( slow loading) of my move and he was just concerned with processing my card info. No wonder. The guys they sent were nice young men, but were an inexperienced,slow, inefficient crew- they seemed to only be concerned with making what has typically been a 4 hr. Move time with other moving co. Into a 7 hr. Move if I had just let them burn the time they wanted to. If I didn't begin unloading my own things- it was evident that was what they aimed to do. Damn shame that myself, and 2 other female family members had to strain our backs helping 2 young men so I wouldn't have a $600 move if they'd had their way. But I still paid over $300 for 50% of my own labor! Aweful RIP OFF CO. BEWARE. Thanks for the wobbly table and bed. Half assed. I now have to pay someone to fix the things they didn't tighten or screw in correctly.
