I typically take the time to research and read reviews myself, but unfortunately, I didn't in this case--lesson learned. Please consider this a warning, along with the many other reviewers sharing similar experiences. It's not a coincidence that so many of us are leaving one-star reviews. No, we're not "black, angry, cheap, "Groupon customers" ...we are individuals who were scammed by this company. I feel pretty sad for an individual who has to scam other people (who make honest money) in order to make a living. I guess this is what people have to do these days just to make it in this economy. My experience was so similar to other reviewers that I genuinely thought I had already submitted a review. We shared nearly identical situations, which strongly leads me to believe this a scam. The arrival time was nearly four hours outside of the promised window. When they finally arrived, it was in a U-Haul cargo van, not a proper moving truck. This lack of preparation is exactly what causes unnecessary delays which he will hold your items until you pay. It's disappointing that people who work hard for their money are put in situations like this. No one should have to question the integrity of a business they trusted. If you are looking for a trustworthy company, I recommend Two Men and a Truck, they actually come prepared with the proper equipment. I had the absolute worst experience with this so-called moving company, and I want to warn others before you get taken advantage of like I did. I hired them for a 3-hour move for $200. Before the move, I did exactly what was asked -- I sent photos of every item, gave a clear breakdown of what needed to be moved, and made sure they had all the information. Despite that, they showed up with a truck that was far too small to complete the job. By 12:45PM, they still hadn't moved the main furniture or anything in the garage. Only half the job was done. Then, while in the middle of the delivery to my daughter's apartment, the owner Erik Williams, literally stopped the truck mid-route and told me he put the drivers on standby until I paid them an extra $150 For another hour. I was put in a position where I had no choice but to pay, just to get my family's belongings delivered. That's not just bad service -- that's coercion. To make things worse, when my legal representative called the owner, Mr. Eric Williams, to resolve the situation, he hung up the phone and said, "Take me to court." That's the kind of person running this business. This was a complete scam, a waste of money, and a deeply frustrating experience. I've started the process of filing a small claims lawsuit and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General. Avoid this company at all costs. This was by far the worst moving experience I've ever had. The movers were supposed to arrive between 3-6 p.m., but they didn't show up until 11 p.m. and weren't finished until 5 a.m. The communication throughout the process was not just poor but often hostile and dismissive whenever I raised concerns. I got the Groupon deal for 3 hours, which should have been more than enough time for my small one-bedroom apartment. Instead, because they showed up with insufficient equipment and worked inefficiently, the move stretched into 5 hours. I was then forced to purchase an additional 2 hours for $125 -- a rate I wasn't even told about until I specifically asked. The lack of transparency felt shady and exploitative. They showed up with insufficient equipment to handle the job, and several of my items were missing from the move. Most frustratingly, they refused to bring my couch upstairs on moving night, claiming it wouldn't fit in the elevator and they were too tired to walk up the stairs. Instead, they left it behind and said they'd return on Monday. When they did come back, the couch fit in the elevator with no problem--something that should have been done the first time. Yet I was forced to pay them again just to have the couch delivered, even though it was part of the original agreement. To make matters worse, I tried to be nice and allowed the so-called "supervisor" to borrow my iPhone charger and my key fob for the new apartment so he could sit in the office and watch the truck. He never returned either item. Now I have to purchase a replacement key fob and charger out of my own pocket. I called and texted multiple times -- once he claimed he was on the way to bring them back, but after that he stopped responding completely. I even texted his girlfriend (learned who she was from other reviews), explaining the situation, and now she won't respond either even though she just asked me to explain. Another huge red flag: they make you pay through Zelle, which offers no buyer protection and makes it almost impossible to dispute fraudulent charges. This feels intentional -- a way to trap customers so they can't get their money back when things go wrong. The entire experience was unprofessional, dishonest, and unnecessarily stressful. They wasted my time, took advantage of me financially, and failed to deliver the service they promised. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. If I could give this place a zero, I would!. I only operated in a space of grace when I supported this company after meeting the girlfriend of the supposed manager/owner and although she was a polite. Now when I say this experience was HORRIBLE, trust I am not exaggerating. The owner has no sense of organization & the movers he sent out had no safety protocols in place for the actual order of service. The owner was hostile and extremely unprofessional! He continuously called all day wanting an update of the moving process and he was unprepared for all that I request and had paid for. He did not equip his movers with the correct tools (or any at that) to unmount the 2 tvs I listed in the questionnaire I completed before paying via Zelle. He also was very unaware of what would be needed to complete the move and he was very anxious throughout the process, so much so that he became violent in his verbal delivery when the movers confirmed that it took them over an hour to unmount two tvs with the handheld screwdriver set (that I supplied for them to use). He became a bully over the phone when his attempted scam did not go in his favor and he was belligerent in his approach to resolve anything further. Both of the workers confirmed that it was there 1st day of work and they had no training in what was needed to store, move, etc. One of the guys was wearing a pair of slippers that are supplied to the TDCJ prisoners to use for the shower and the other mover was so inexperienced that he drove the uHaul 20" truck into the ditch which prompted me to take the driver's seat and drive the truck to the storage facility. I was threatened to have the policy called on me and that "he would PULL UP" if I didn't pay and additional undisclosed amount for the workers being with me for a total of 4hrs. I won't start on how he continuously reset the day from Friday 8/1 to 8/4 because he "a customer before me had an extra garage of furniture that he was not aware of and the pictures she sent were not the truth". Overall, the entire experience was overwhelming and I'm okay with knowing that I will no longer work with them ever. I really appreciated the honesty, the communication, and the effort to make things right. He worked quickly, handled everything with care, and made sure the job was done well. This company just scammed me out of $222. they didn't move any of my things, never showed up, gave me excuses all day long. I ended up having to rent a U-Haul and find ppl to help me move myself. They were rude and Erik Williams is a complete A******. He lies about everything. This company is ran by a bunch of ex cons looking to make a quick dollar. They will lie and steal from you. his girlfriend is also a liar. They take your money, go and spend it and then make an excuse as to why they can't move your stuff. I booked the moving between 8-10am. they fought with me and my mom over the phone all day untill 4pm. at 4pm I decided to cut my losses and call my bank to dispute the charge and we are filing with small claims court. PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!!!! they have a sell going on Groupon, DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!! I am currently filing a report with the police for theft and false advertising of a company. These people should be Back where they belong. IN PRISON!!!! I am attaching text message proof of the lies told to me, and going back on their word multiple times. the Job they weee working on the night before supposedly took them till 4 am and the.
