Haddock sandwich with hand breaded onion rings
Kaye N.

Stopped in late afternoon on a Sunday, service was friendly and very attentive. First time in since ownership change and it was nice to see the same familiar surroundings. Nice addition of a wood fired pizza oven, Parmesan bites were amazing as was the marinara. Ordered the chicken express wrap, with hand breaded fresh chicken breast tenders tucked into a grilled wrap (extremely delicious!) and a haddock sandwich that was perfectly cooked. Upgraded to the onion rings which were hand breaded fresh, so glad we did! Ordered a pizza to go for those at home and the pizza received great reviews as well. We will definitely be back.

After setting up camp and Ossipee, we decided to find somewhere to eat. Mountain View Station had good reviews on yelp so we decided to try them. We walked in a little bit before the dinner rush. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the food, friendliness of the staff, and decor of this restaurant. Located inside an old train station they have plenty of memorabilia from those days. I opened with a bowl of clam chowder, probably the best clam chowder I have ever had! My wife ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with onion rings while I their salad with grilled salmon. The dishes came out, surprisingly quick and wore absolutely delicious! For dessert decided on a piece of carrot cake. We truly enjoyed a great surprise and stopping here! Well done!

Another great meal and service. First time back since new ownership. The menu is slightly changed but the food still just as amazing. A must have is their hand battered onion rings. Super tender insides and perfectly crispy on the outside. Chicken Parmesan was tender yet crispy with a perfect tomato sauce over penne pasta. Love this small town flavor.

Poutine

Such a cute place. They have a few different dining rooms. Very nice signs to give it a vintage feel. Our server came pretty quickly, and we ordered poutine as an appetizer, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and it was good. Not overpowering on the spice, I personally prefer a bit more. The chicken tenders were so good, huge portions! We had enough for lunch the next day. Overall great food and service. We took our kids and unfortunately, they do not have LIDS for the cups. This was a bit stressful since of course, they spilled their drink. They said they don't use straws because they got caught in the plumbing because people were dumping them in the sink. I get that, but a lid on the kids cup is a must.

This place is a bit random like a small place off the grid. Definitely nothing fancy but the food was surprisingly good for the most part! The service was amazing. The poutine was AMAZING. My husband also got the clam chowder which was pretty yummy. Everything else was good, not great. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it!

Slaw, potato's, and bacon topped meatloaf

Was very pleased to find this treasure in Ossipee. A historic restaurant, the menu was diverse and simple. The waitresses were all extremely nice and funny and their crab cakes were delicious. I had the meatloaf and was pleasantly surprised by its homemade-esque flavors. The perfect consistency of onion and sauce. Will be coming back.

Scallops over penne

If you are even close to this restaurant you have to find it . Our first time going and it was delicious, I had the scallops which was over penne with mushrooms, spinach and sun dried tomatoes and a delicious sauce. Wife had Salmon with Mustard sauce with asparagus and roasted potatoes, Salmon was cooked perfectly. Had the Mussels for an appetizer, PEI mussels in a great sauce. It is a smaller restaurant and they do take reservations so it is best to make one.

Ask the Community - Mountainview Station

I live in Virginia and I have some close friends who live in Effingham. Can I order and pay for a gift card online from your restaurant and have it sent to their address in Effingham, NH?

I don't believe they use gift cards. I know they have gift certificates. If you ask for Roger or Chrissy I bet they would work with you to get a gift certificate to your friends. It's a small area and if your friends go to the station they are… Read more

The haddock was really large, and also tasty. Its a pretty simple sandwich apart from that... lettuce and a bunch of pickles. Comes with a generous side of fries. Also shared a brownie fudge sundae. This was also quite simple. Nothing really special, although its a really large serving for the price. Looks like it can get busy... we had to wait a few minutes.

On this evening, it was relatively slow and we only waited about 5 minutes before being seated. Usually, we come in Friday nights and have learned never to do that again (we came on a Tuesday this time around). We ordered fried pickles and calamari for apps. They aren't huge portions - enough for 2 people per app. Two of my boys weren't feeling fish so they had a burger and the other a BLT and we were all pleasantly impressed with how they came out. The captains platter can feed three people at least! It is heavy on the shrimp and they come with clam bellies, not strips - so keep that in mind. I got Ray's wrap - nothing too special but it was tasty. They also have onion nuggets - which I have never seen before and were delicious!! All the fried food was fried very well. Not too greasy and nice and crispy. Our waitress was amazing. She was so sweet and really genuine! I love that in a waitress. The place itself is cozy. It's divided into a few sections. There is outdoor seating but I haven't seen it ever used since the COVID days. All in all, we love this place and I'm sure you will too!

Just up the road in Campton, we discovered Covered Bridge Farm Table--and what an amazing place. The food is incredibly fresh and truly farm-to-table. The staff was super friendly, and our waitress was fantastic. We both ordered the clam chowder, which is gluten free and absolutely delicious--exactly what we needed to warm up. We also ordered the Cowboy Chips, and fair warning: they disappear fast. They were amazing, with the smoked Gouda being the perfect finishing touch. Definitely not your average nachos. As an added bonus, the restaurant overlooks a covered bridge and a river, making for a wonderful view while enjoying our afternoon snack. The menu overall looks fantastic, and we'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

There was live music in the bar but we wanted to sit for dinner so we sat in the dining room. The water was really great. Brought water to us as soon as we sat down and took our drink order. They had an okay selection of beers on draft but nothing that u really loved. Espresso martini that one of us got was good, not great but good. The ahi tuna bowl was amazing. Our son had it and said that everything was great. My wife had the Cape Cod Rueben, which is her favorite go to and said it was phenomenal. Our daughter got the chicken fingers and fries and said the fries were her favorite. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and the breast seemed a bit cookie cutter and not really fresh. The apples in my sandwich were more like a jar jam and wasn't very good. The brioche bun was okay but overall the sandwich was a disappointment. I will say the basket of fries was the highlight for my meal. I ordered the key lime pie to go and it wasn't very good. The menu said it was world famous and won competitions but in my travels, this was about a 3 out of 10 of all the key lime pies I have had. Overall, our visit was good and they deserve 5 stars for service. If we ever go back, I will try something different. I'd recommend giving it a try.

This is a lovely restaurant that sits alongside Meredith Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee. There are a number of seating choices including bar, high top and conventional tables, many with views of the lake. This time of the year, the views of the snow-covered frozen lake are gorgeous. I wish I could say the same thing about our dinner, which frankly was a disappointment. The menu includes a good variety of starters, appetizers, salads, handhelds, and entrees. Two of us ordered the Flat Iron Steak. I realize this is usually a chewier cut of meat, but this was so tough it was inedible. Our server and the manager both could not have been nicer in terms of how they handled this as I returned mine and was quickly brought a different dinner- a French Dip sandwich. This was tasty but there was more bread than roast beef. The other person chose to keep her flat iron streak, but I could tell it was very difficult to cut and chew. Another ordered the Chicken Milanese Salad which included arugula, peppers, roasted tomatoes and olives in a balsamic dressing. The Parmesan crusted pan fried chicken came over-done but that meal was well-liked. The service and the ambiance were stellar.
