I was rear ended and took my car in for repair. Everything was marked for repair. They kept my car for 3 weeks. Returned the car and I found the bumper that was replaced had a missing reflector light. Also the tail light that was broken due to the collision was not replaced. My wife collected the car and there was no mention of any of this. When I called them today they said I would have to take it up with Geico since it they said the collision was on the right side and hence the left tail light fixture was not covered. This body shop has poor communication and they don't seem professional how they manage customer expectations. I will for most certain be calling Geico to address this. I would warn Palo Alto and Mountain View residents to taking the car for repair here. They are a Geico certified repair center which is why I took my car here. Never again. read more

Geico recommended this body shop as a trusted body shop. I didn't do research and left the car for the repairs. Approximately 3 weeks later, they reached out to me to say that the vehicle is ready. The work is of extremely poor quality; I wouldn't pay a penny for it. I don't know where they are painting, but the paint is full of dust and dirt, and it is not smooth at all. It appears that they didn't use a paint booth, and the paint is contaminated. They didn't put any effort into sanding or polishing at the end. Manager Andrew simply told me that Geico doesn't pay enough to do a good quality job, and if I want better quality, I have to pay them extra. For any Geico customers or Tesla owners, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you are seeking a high-quality job. read more

Dropped off car to fix a small dent many months later after getting quote from them. They even suggested I can go through insurance to make it more affordable. I shopped around different shops and felt most respected and got best pricing here. Quality of work was excellent. The paint match was fantastic with metallic paint. Carlos helped me through the process and gave me peace of mind with my requests - I had even requested they not touch certain parts of the car and he reassured me they would not. Very good experience. I needed a small fix to the bumper, they gave me an estimate based on what I actually needed to do (which came out a lot cheaper than at another place). They did the work on schedule, great result, and I ended up paying even a bit less than their initial estimate. ***UPDATE*** I came back to add something very important to my review that I didn't notice 6 days ago until today! MVBS also fixed my AC control buttons!!! I'm literally in awe right now! Today I turned on my AC and I started making adjustments to the settings just to realize as it DAWNED on me that my buttons were no longer sticky and stuck together! I AM SO THANKFUL! I had asked Mercedes how much it would cost to fix the control buttons and they quoted me an arm and a leg because they said they would have to REPLACE the row of control buttons. But MVBS FIXED IT completely somehow and I'm guessing it was during the surprise interior detailing that I spoke about before in my review that they did on my car. I just can't say thank you enough guys!!!! ***Original review*** I recently picked up my Mercedes E550 from MVBS and it looks good! The ABSOLUTE WORST BODY SHOP in the area. Avoid it if you ever want to see your car back again. Certainly, DO NOT bring any Tesla vehicle to this facility. Brought my Tesla in for a repair here over 2 months ago. 1. The shop representatives have been unresponsive - seem to be never be available to provide any updates. We are constantly calling and going over to them for follow ups. 2. They keep blaming Tesla for delay in procurement of parts - but take days to even communicate internally with another or order the parts on time. We have had to coordinate communication and updates between them and MV Radiator that was doing alignment work for them 3. As of this morning they said that they are unable to fix the alerts happening after their repair work. 4. They asked me to follow up and schedule a service appointment with Tesla to address the alerts. I called Tesla and we took the car to their service center. Tesla informed us that the body shop needed to schedule a service request directly and turned us away! I DO NOT understand why they would open the service request before asking me to schedule time with Tesla. My car has been stuck at the facility for over 2 months now. Even now, I have no idea when they will be able to schedule a service request with Tesla. read more

They rescheduled with no explanation, then told me I missed my appointment, then weren't sure about my payment status, then forgot to tell me that it was going to take two days even though they had confirmed they can get it done in one day. Damage was repaired. Shape and color match are OK. Work was completed ahead of schedule. Paint is not very smooth, small air bubbles/dusts inside. Finger/smudge/oil marks on the leather chair or interior door. A chip found on the other side of wheel cover which was not there before repair. Paint quality or environment needs to be improved, and staff needs to be more careful handling and driving the car. Car was washed and parked outside for a weekend. When I picked it up, there are already quite some tree saps on the car that is very hard to get rid of. read more

I had a great experience with Mountain View Body Shop after someone hit my car while I was in the grocery store. Their overall communication and services made the process a lot less stressful, so I thank them for that. After filing a claim with the responsible party's insurance, their insurance company sent me over to Mountain View Body Shop and let me know they would handle the assessment and repairs. I could tell I was in good hands by the way the body shop coordinated with the insurance company and rental car company seamlessly. Process & Experience: -Checked in at the desk -The staff took me outside to review the damage to my car and marked it with a removable marker. They asked me to describe what had happened and indicate any places with new damage. -The staff had me seated in the lobby for a rental car service agent to walk me through getting a rental car, and told me they would update me on ETA via text -The rental car company came on site and walked me through next steps in the parking lot -Later that day, I received a text with an ETA of a few days -Only a couple days later, I received a call from the body shop letting me know my car was ready! -I picked up my car and was surprised to see they had detailed it. How thoughtful of them! -I didn't need to coordinate driving the rental car back to Enterprise as the Body Shop took care of taking the keys from me and coordinating with the rental car company. I took my MBZ 300 into the Mt. View Body Shop to get my front end replaced that got torn off on a high curb. The reception desk and estimator all seem very professional, and I got me a quote the next day which was lower than two other body shops. After repair the car it looked good as new. Terrible Experience. Please avoid this place, there are dozens of body shops around the area to choose from. DO NOT take your Tesla here, there are better options on your list of certified Tesla body shops! From start to finish, it was disorganized and unprofessional. They promised the repair would be done within 4 business days. Dropped the car off on a Wednesday morning. Called back on the following Monday to see what the status was. And nothing was done! Their reason was that they lost my key card! Yet no communication was made to me about it until I called in on the 4th day to ask. No phone call, no emails, no text message, no nothing. Had to leave work, go home, and bring a 2nd key for them so they can finally start the repair. Finally, another 4 days goes by, now 8 days total, I go pick up the car and the interior was left uncleaned and dirty. There were grease stains on my seat (Attached picture) and bird droppings on inside of the door panel. I couldn't even get the grease off, had to get it professionally cleaned, more money out of my pocket. They couldn't find my first key, so I had to pay out of pocket again to get a key replaced. I reached out the body shop and spoke to Andrew who said they would reimburse for the cleaning and the lost key and will give me a little extra for the inconvenience. You guys want to know how much they were offering for my inconvenience? $10! 10 whole dollars for my inconvenience. How about I give you $10 and you let me do that to your car and make waste hours of your time. Would you be ok with that? read more

I brought my car in scheduled for today to drop it off for about a 3-5 day body job and was told I was over an hour late so they wouldn't take my car! What? This was just a drop off to do the work. This was not an appointment with anyone as I already brought it in and got an estimate with them and Geico the week before. In fact days earlier an employee said I could bring it in anytime Tuesday but earlier meant they could work on it the same day. I listened to about10 minutes of abuse for having the temerity to drop off my car an hour late (they had no customers in the lot and I told them I didn't care whether they could start on this day of drop off), This was no longer a place I wanted to do business with as I certainly wouldn't make a return trip another day. If customer service is this bad when taking the car in, what might happen if there was even the most minor issue in the actual bodywork? There are many places for me to take my business. I went up to Mathews Carlsen body shop and was treated well and will have them do the work. Who acts like this to a customer bringing them a few thousand dollar job? My head's still spinning from the ludicrous nature of this service. Addendum and response to Andrew. Andrew - I wish you had been as polite at the shop as you were in your response to my review. Then I wouldn't have wasted 2 trips to your shop. Your answer is blatantly wrong. Your employee, upon finding my appointment in the computer said "You are late for your appointment. We can't take your car". You arrived several minutes later. What followed was a several minute dressing down to me for being late. Horrible experience at this body shop. Geico insurance picked this body shop to fix two small dents on my rear bumper left from a rear end accident. Everything seemed to go fine until I come to pick up my car. I am shocked to find that my beautiful blue bmw is full of big and small scratches. It looked as if that someone used the wrong tool on the car, and then keyed the hood with long big marks! It is just so sad. I absolutely regret leaving my car at this body shop. :-( read more

We use Mountain View Body shop often. This appears to be a problem WE have. But Mountain View Body never snickers when we come in.....again. They are always professional, give solid quotes. Help us whether or not insurance will be involved. They have even fixed little minor things that involve a little shove of f a piece to get it to click on better. They do the top end repairs that require paint matching and ordered parts, but also do the little things and give advice about whether it is worth it and or not. They work hard to find the least expensive parts for the repair as well. read more

Both of these tasks were a bit tricky, so I didn't want to do it and risk damaging things. They were able to execute at a fair price. Despite the originally intended technician going on break right before the job started, Andrew adjusted and pulled in somebody else to seamlessly finish the job.
