Beware College Students. My son brought his car in for repair of a headlight/bumper. The body shop said they could fix the car if he bought an Audi part that he needed. After paying over $1100, the blinker still didn't work and after he drove off the lot he noticed the bumper came detached. clicked After bringing the car into the Audi Dealership in town we found out the Bumper was not installed properly, 14 screws were missing, costing us 246$ for parts and labor. It took the Audi shop no time to diagnose and repair the blinker issue. Multiple phone calls with the owner were unproductive. The owner of the body show wasn't willing to take any accountability nor refund us for the 14 screws and labor we had to pay to have the bumper installed properly. My 2017 Harley Davidson Triglide ultra had several deep scratches and abrasions on the right rear fender. I took it to Greg Bedford and we agreed upon a price of $500 to repair it to like new condition. He was very polite and very professional. I also had the pleasure of dealing with Gabriella, The office manager, and she was also very polite and very skilled at her job. I brought in my Triglide on Thursday morning and picked it up early Friday afternoon. The rear fender that had the damage looked the same as it did when I bought it new in 2017. Friendly and Professional My parked car was hit by a rental SUV. My front fender was badly damaged, which resulted in my wheel well rubbing against my tire on turns. Damage was also done to the passenger door. I got four estimates in the Old Middlefield Bodyshop area. Most of the bodyshops warned that once they opened up the car, there was a chance that they'd find "other things" and there could be additional cost. The estimates ranged greatly. Dave's Bodyshop - $2,146 Caliber Collision -$3,579 United Collision - $4,156 Mountain View Body Shop - $4,681 I had just received my estimate with Dave's Bodyshop, which was the lowest, but I had trouble communicating with the mechanic during the process. As I was sitting in my car, a man came out of the next shop, waved and came to the side of my car. He pointed at the SF Giants jacket I was wearing and then pointed to the same logo on his and smiled. "Giants! At least let us give you an estimate if you're here." This was Greg, the owner of Bedford Auto Body. He was friendly and calm. He took a few looks at the car and then asked me to follow him into the office. As he was checking on parts, I read a plaque on the wall that stated my rights with an insurance claim. "You are not required to get more than one estimate." It was comforting to see that he was on my side. He gave his estimate of $2600, didn't mention that there would be any "surprises" and answered some of my questions about how to handle working with another insurance company for the claim. He gave them a call to confirm. I hadn't been able to get through to the insurance company that morning, but he got through on the first dial. They exchanged words and when he got off the phone, I told him I'd like to leave my car with him for repair. Greg and his team finished the repairs in 9 days and kept me in the loop during the process. I was extremely impressed by their genuineness and professionalism. No surprises. The guy never answers the phone nor returns messages. that should have been my first red sign. He eventually answered and we scheduled the day to bring the car. he also estimated it would take 3 days. On the estimated release day, I tried calling. again - no answer. only after 2 days I get a call to come to pick up the car. Usually, I take Yelp reviews of auto bodyshops and mechanics with a massive lump of salt as I've found a good fraction of the reviews to be based on how friendly the shop owner is or how cute the office pet is, not how good the end result or how good the pricing is. I can confidently say Greg has earned every positive review he has for a reason. He greets you with a wide open grin, evaluates what it'll take to get the job done, and works with you on what he can do for your budget. Emphasis on the last part. Some nearby shops had taken one look at my car and thrown out some absurd number for repainting the whole car, or had simply refused to work on it as I wasn't willing to shell out for the works. Not Greg. He was upfront about what I could expect for the money I had on hand, and went above and beyond in achieving it. Even when the job ended up being more complicated than what he'd initially thought, he stuck to his original quote. Man of his word. My entire front end had a good amount of road rash from its years on CA highways, and someone had recently cracked my front bumper (composite) by bump parking. (Side note: Hit and run people deserve a special place in hell). Greg patched it all up, repainted and clear coated the bumper, hood, and fenders for a very fair price. I found Bedford Auto Body on my way home from visiting the millionth repair shop in search of a fair estimate and ability to actually fix my car. Let's just put it this way, I am not the best driver hence the reason why I managed to bump/scratch a good portion of the paint on my car. I was worried about finding a place that could not only fix the indentations but also perfectly match the color with the rest of the car (we've all seen the crappy paint repair that doesn't match, YUCK aka no thanx, ill keep the bump/scratch/dent !) Friday- I walked into the store all frowny faced after receiving yet another ~$2000 estimate where I was met by Greg the owner who took the time to listen to what I wanted done and propose the best solution he could. Not only did he give me a fair estimate which was about half of what most of the other places were asking but also he pointed out another scratch/bump/dent I hadn't noticed on the car.
