Moulin was our first stop on our Napa adventure day. It's a popular spot so expect to wait in line a few minutes on busy days, but once we got to the front we picked an olive focaccia (which was a bit like a soft pretzel) and a blueberry muffin that had undertones of cornbread. Both were absolutely delicious! The service was friendly and they have quite a bit of seating outside and several cozy benches inside. So all in all, we would definitely return!
Standing in line chatting with guy because of course there is a line, said, "you have to get the pastries." He was absolutely correct they are amazing. Went lemon verbena pastry and was not disappointed at all. Service was great and efficient despite the line. Smiles and great music. Small space so be prepared to not get a seat on the weekend but worth it. The coffee is also on par with the pastries high quality. Wish they had almond milk as I'm not a fan of oat. Vibes are great, food and coffee great. If you are in Napa I highly recommend this spot for sure.
Cute spot tucked in an alleyway near a pinball machine! Employees were nice. It's a small place indoors. I tried the fig latte, and it was good! A 12oz cup is $7. The fig flavor didn't come out much, so expect a normal sweeter latte when you order!
All the pastries here looked super delicious! I would definitely go in the mornings since later in the day they tend to run out of options. Some pastries I really enjoyed were the matinee cannelle, blueberry muffin, buckwheat financier, and chaussan framboise. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is their brewed tea - Erda lemon verbena. I was really excited to try this tea, but disappointed that it just tasted like water. Definitely would like for them to brew their tea stronger. We waited about 15 min to order since there was a line out the door. Workers were nice and friendly. Good vibes. There's no indoor seating, but a handful of outdoor seating.
Once in a while, you come across a place that just feels right, taste wonderful, and you walk away with a smile from ear to ear. This is one of those places. First time visitor, and definitely not my last, even though I do not live in the area. I tried another well known bakery in the area and it didn't quite hit the right note, but Moulin does. From the location which is tucked away in the middle of a retail complex to the "new" coffee shop / bakery vibe, to the friendly staff, to the outdoor seating, and to the visually and tasteful pasties and cappuccino, everything is on point. Cappuccino was served in the appropriate size and hit the right caffeine note. The pastries were not too sweet but oh so flaky and wonderful with each bite. We loved it so much that we started with 4 items and ended up buying 8 more for the road. Of special note. the passionfruit flan was delightful. Tangy, bright, and sweet in flavor. This is a must visit!!!!
OMG. Randomly searched for coffee in downtown Napa and ran across Moulin. Bar none, if you are looking for amazing coffee and artisan pastries this is the place. There is a reason the line was out the door this Saturday am when I got here. The line goes pretty fast so it is Soooo worth waiting. Highly recommend.
I've passed this place a few times, wandering in the alleyway. I'm not too privy on what constitutes as the best pastries, but everything I had gave me a great feeling. All the pastries were delicate and flakey. I had the focaccia with pepperoni. It seemed drizzled with hot honey, and each pepperoni seemed to be toasted or baked consistently on certain side. I get the ham sandwich too, and the bread is soft yet crispy. Outside seating but it was really nice on cloudy morning. I've been on sunny days where they put on the awning for extra shade. I'm not sure about the other drinks, but I've only gotten the Dubliner, which is reminiscent of Guinness but smooth cold brew. Service is pleasant and staff clean each table after you leave. Honestly, my absolute favorite place to get French pasties for overall service and how everything is purposefully done.
Great little coffee shop a quick walk from our hotel. There was a line Friday am around 9am. The coffee is strong and the staff nice. We had a cortado that was super intense and a latte. About $15 pp for a coffee and pastry plus tip. Street parking available and can be tricky. Its a but hidden in a little shopping center.
We came by for a quick bite before heading out to the wineries. Love that Moulin opens early and we arrived before the crowd on a Saturday morning. I got a fig leaf latte and a cafe strié to-go and both were delicious! I loved the housemade fig syrup which was fruity and floral - I asked for my latte half sweet which was perfect for me as the half sweet was even a bit too sweet for my taste. The cafe strié is an espresso cream filled pain suisse. The pastry is flaky with a nice crunch on the outside the the espresso cream was luscious without feeling too heavy. I was such a fan of this and we'll definitely have to go back to try more of the pastries the next time we're in downtown Napa!
I came to Moulin for a Sunday afternoon pick-up around 1pm and they still had a few pastries available - I could see that hold sold out of some of their other offerings already. The service was welcoming and kind, and I loved the windows and wood accents inside which made for a nice relaxing atmosphere - it was a beautiful day outside so I sat at one of the many small foldable chairs/tables outside. The offer adorable plates for pastries to enjoy there. I got a lemon verbena pastry, and a fig leaf latte. I like that their offerings are a bit unique, and the pastry was delicate, tasty, though a little less crisp that I'd like - perhaps because it was later in the day? The fig leaf latte was also tasty - though I couldnt really taste a big difference between the fig leaf syrup and vanilla - it seemed to be missing a little something to really bring out the fig leaf flavor. Overall, a cute little cafe to grab a pastry and coffee at, and I'd like to come back earlier in the day to try some of the other pastries! A little pricier than some of the other pastries in the area, but they're definitely a little more elevated here :)
Came here on a Sunday close to 11am, long time and doesnt move that fast, but the bread is worth it! Got the turkey sandwich as usual, blueberry muffin, chocolate croissant and croissant with coffee filling. I also got the whole wheat sourdough bread and was so glad as they stone mill their flour so it has all the yummy nutrients in it compared to big chain bread. I still love the turkey sandwich- very good for lunch, the coffee filling croissant was nice to try but would prob try something else next time. The blue berry muffin was so soft and moist and surprised me, would recommend this. And im sure the chocolate crossiant was good. Only thing i wouldnt get again is their cappuccino, tasted way too burnt for me, better sticking to matcha i think.
My favorite spot for coffee in napa area. Love that they use camelia coffee beans here. The coffee menu always rotates with seasonal drinks. The coffee drink i got is their espresso long shot which was chilled and perfect to sip on. . I love their pastry here and always get their croissants plain, so flakey and buttery. Love the flavor croissant as well. You can't really go wrong with any of the pastries here, they are good quality and definitely made with love on the first bite. . The service here is friendly and the line does get long. The line moves quick though. . Ambiance here is casual and plenty of seating outdoor and indoor is limited seating. They did add some wood bench which is more seating inside now. Great spot to people watch, or simply to grab a quick drink and pastry. Parking nearby has a lot of space too. This place is quite popular and always a line early in the morning. We were eager to try and sampled quite a variety including fruit pastries, chocolate cookie, buckwheat financier, lemon verbena, egg custard tart, and cafe striae. ~$6-8 each. A bit pricey but average for the area. I thought everything was ok, but not particularly memorable or outstanding. I would much prefer bouchon for a similar price range v

Very good espresso. Very good! They make their pastries in site and they are as good as any you'll get in the best French Patisserie! Very professional Baristas and the folks who work there are very friendly but not so friendly as to dusrupt the speed of service. Outside seating in a courtyard is romantic. And it quiet enough for conversation. I get here just early enough to be 2nd in line but by the time my cappuccino was ready there were at least 10 people waiting. The locals know about this little piece of paradise. read more
Simply wow it's been a few months since my last visit and the ante of baked goods and delectable delights have expanded exponentially! I enjoyed this pepperoni Focaccia baked fresh early this morning. Was phenomenal. Tranquil atmosphere and nicely staffed with friendly people. Excellent pastry! I used to work at a wood fired bakery and cannot get over their matinee canele, so good! Love the chai here and the cosy outdoor seating among olive trees. Highly recommend. read more

When I tell you run don't walk!!! I mean it!!! It's giving me French bakery without being in France. A hidden gem in Napa!!! Delicious food!!! And the best latte I ever had in my life was the fig leaf latte with oat milk. 200000000/10. Also the turkey pesto sandwich on focaccia is to die for. This place is super cute and has the most friendly staff!!! Thank you for being the best little spot. I could go on but I need to get back to eating that delicious pesto turkey sandwhich. read more

Best matcha in town! Whenever I have the chance to stop by the staff is always so mellow and welcoming. Some of the most delicious drinks and pastries in town. The coffee shop is small and there's limited seating, but great opportunity to grab a drink and walk around downtown! read more

This is the best bakery I have ever been to!! We stumbled upon it while visiting Napa for a wedding and we came back every single day of our trip! Incredible coffee, bakery items and atmosphere. The owners are so nice and everyone who works here is so friendly. The coffee and food are truly works of art. My only wish is that they'd open one where I live in Arizona so I could have it everyday!! read more

Just so you know, this coffee shop is located inside a plaza that is Hella cute. There were more than a few items to choose from and I wanted to go with savory. I settled with the ham sandwich and asked them to warm it up for me. I also chose a chocolate croissant that has coffee cream in it. I went with a cappuccino as this was my first caffeine drink of the day and I did not have my morning coffee. I found a cute little corner table that sat at the window and I was immediately ecstatic because it is a small quaint place. It does feel like you're in a cozy coffee shop in France. My cappuccino was wonderfully made, and my hand sandwich was perfectly toasted. The baguette was nice and crunchy and the flavors of the ham and maybe it was horseradish (?) paired Wonderfully with the cheese. As I sat and enjoyed my short meal in peace, there were lots of patrons coming in to order and using the bathroom. Like I said it is a small place. I'd definitely return because their coffee is amazing. read more

Beautifully layered and baked pastries! Their baguettes are well toasted, but sourdough rather than the traditional baguette. Definitely plan to go back and relax at their outdoor seating. read more

Not a lot of room to sit. There were a few tables but they were already taken. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. Tried the quiche as well as the ham and cheese baguette -- both were delicious. I also tried a Cherry Cola which was a mixture of espresso, Topo Chico, and a cherry flavored syrup. Not too sweet....not watered down. Just the right balance. read more
