Coffee was burnt , service was slow , breakfast was bland , I miss the old broken yolk

Worst service Ever. I think the flies enjoyed the food more than I did, and the waitress couldn't remember what i ordered

Went to Mossman's Coffee Shop for breakfast and it was my first time at this location. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. Everything seemed clean, including the restroom. Our table was wobbly so we had to be careful as to not spill our drinks when it tilted. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with country potatoes and a biscuit with gravy. I really enjoyed the hot coffee, potatoes, gravy, and crispy breading on the chicken fried steak. The steak was a little tough, which between the tasty breading and gravy I could overlook. However, the biscuit was surprisingly hard and memorable but not in a good way. My friend had the French Toast and a seasonal mimosa called a Mistletoe, both of which were tasty. The mimosa was a cranberry-coconut flavor and the presentation was beautiful with shredded coconut adoring the rim. The reason why I am not giving five stars is mainly attributable to the rock hard biscuit -- it shouldn't have been served as it difficult to break open using both hands. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience and we plan to be back, but I'll likely refrain ordering any biscuits. read more

We were looking forward to trying the new Mossman's for breakfast. Unfortunately, everything was a disappointment. We purposely went in the middle of the week around 10 o'clock so to miss the crowd. We ordered their veggie omelette special and after waiting 20 minutes for it, a young man brings out what appeared to be a breakfast burrito, with the potatoes and announced that they had changed the special. Our waitress assured us they could correct this and after another 20 minutes of waiting our "veggie" omelette was served. Their idea of a veggie omelette was nothing more than zucchini and cheese... No other vegetables. The country potatoes were dripping in grease. To save this was a disappointment is an understatement. read more

I went to the new location for the first time today. I ordered the original fish and chips which is fish nuggets, french fries, small side of coleslaw and a biscuit. I don't like giving negative reviews but I'm trying to be honest. The french fries were limp the fish was undercooked and the breading they coat the fish with was not good at all. I've been to the original mossman's at the Westchester bowling Alley and the mossman's that was at the bowling alley on wible road which is now closed. I don't know what happened to the original recipe for the fish but it's not the same. Very disappointed I doubt if I'll ever order it again. I will go back and try breakfast. give them a second chance. Definitely not the best fish and chips in Bakersfield anymore. read more

The fish and chips never fail. The fish batter is well seasoned. The bread is soft and pairs perfectly with the meal.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Sat around for about 10 mins before getting acknowledged to get drinks and it was the manager not even a server. About another 10-15 after drinks the server came over, Alan, to take our order. Was not personable at all and after taking our order we never saw him again until he finally brought the check, which he had to wait forever for too.The manager came and gave us refills and a food runner brought out our food. Got there about 7:30PM on a Friday night. Not busy but took a while for someone to seat us. Took a long time to get our food. My daughter found a hair in her food and wouldn't eat it. I asked the waitress to take it away and remove it from the bill. At first she wasn't asked if she wanted something else which I thought was rude. The manager finally came over and apologized and asked her if she wanted anything else. She said no because by then she was done with the place. Someone in our group got chicken tenders but they didn't have any dipping sauces. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills when you could clearly see the glasses were empty. Never asked if we wanted dessert. Went to Dewars because of that. Will never be back. read more

The food here is good. Breakfast is my favorite meal to get here but the chicken strips are really good too. The burger was not so good. It was only a wuarter pind patty and the bun was yoo big. It also had a lot of sauce and white lettuce. They do not use real potatoes for their mashed potatoes. The best part of this place is the service. They are always fast and super friendly. I have never encountered a rude or unfriendly employee here. I would like to see them freshen up the place a little. I did notice some areas that need cleaning and have me concerned about how the kitchen looks where customers can't see. read more

Great fish and chips. Nice homemade roll. Coleslaw was okay. Tartar sauce was good. The staff was friendly and gave extra tartar sauce at no charge, a rarity right now. They were super busy but the service was fast and friendly. Help support this place until they can open up fully. read more

We read so much great stuff about their FISH& CHIPS,and coming from Boston,where the F&C is BEST in Country!, we were hoping to find something comparable. DISATER! First,might be because we grew up on the best F&C we are admittedly a bit snobbish. But if this is what is considered good F&C here we'll wait to get some back home. First,we NEVER saw ROUND F&C before! F&C should be oblong and look like freaking FISH, not a HUSH PUPPY! Even though the quality of the fish was OK,the batter, besides shape, is what makes the dish. And to say it was bad,is being kind. It was sooo bad . Just a mushy covering of over oiled blop. No crunch texture AT ALL! We ended up slithering the " batter" off it and giving it to our 4 dogs. Two of them liked it. We also read it came with extra tarter & lemon if asked for. I did. Also came with roll. I confirmed. But still NO ROLL,NO EXTRA TARTER and 1 " slice" of lemon that was more of a shaving of lemon. I always find that presentation and attention to detail is an indicator of how good the food will be. I was right. The onion rings were OK. Only thing my partner ate. Just OK. I ordered their BIG salad. They throw alot of stuff on it. It too was OK, I only ate half because I don't like lettuce that is chopped. Ruins taste for me. But that's personal preference to be fair. No roll with salad either. I went across town for this. MISTAKE. The waitress was VERY nice,so no complaints there. I forgot to add tip when I paid and ran back in and gave her $4 tip. I would of made it 5,before I saw the food anyway,but it was only cash I had on me. The f& C and salad cost $29. No drinks. Gas to get there...??? lol Broke our heart because we REALLY wanted to find a local place to quench our desire for good old fashioned F&C. GOD knows, this ain't it! Unfortunately, I stumbled across your restaurant by mistake. I thought I was at the Broken Yoke Café but after sitting there waiting for someone to welcome us, take our order, bring us water, or anything I noticed different logos on their shirts and a new menu. After 20 minutes of staring at any employee I could find, someone finally came and asked if we'd like anything to drink. I explained that we were also ready to order. She let me know that she would get our server. They came and took our order and when we received our food half of it was missing. I thought maybe they would be making a second trip. After another 20 minutes I stood up and walked over to the bar to ask our server where the rest of our food was and would it be coming soon. She asked what was missing and I told her that my 8 year old didn't receive her food at all, my pancakes where missing and my sons hash browns as well. Another hostess then came over to ask what we were missing and I had to repeat what we ordered that was missing again. They finally brought the rest of the food but by this time we needed to leave. So I got to-go containers to take everything to eat later. We never received any refills on the water, or soft drinks. I am extremely disappointed in this accidental visit of your restaurant. Mossman's catered our wedding, and they did not disappoint! Staff was friendly, went above and beyond, and the food was delicious. Beautiful grazing board, and passed appetizers. We also did the chicken piccata with tri tip, salad, veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. Our guests raved about the food! Fyi, I'm not a pro. I'm just a normal guy who loves to eat. I started yelping so that I may help others find delicious places to eat. I have seen this restaurant on Yelp many times, but I never checked it out until now. This place is actually located right by (if not, inside) the bowling alley on Wible Rd. It's almost hidden and the small entrance doesn't do a great job at attracting attention. Right upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a lovely waitress named Susie. She had a great attitude and she welcomed us with a smile. We were already off to a good start. As we waited for our food we noticed a few flies in the area. They became a bit annoying. However, Susie charmed us with her personality and she continuously had our drinks full to the brim. We soon forgot about the flies. The food finally came out and it looked delicious. It wasn't the best presentation in the world, but still looked great. At the first bite into my hash browns I felt they were a bit too "buttery." I was on the fence about that. Yes, it gave it a nice crispy finish to the hash browns, but they felt a bit too greasy. The meat lovers omelet was delicious. I had requested jalapenos as well, but did not feel a bit of heat in the omelet, unfortunately. The toast was soft and warm. My friend had a Denver omelet and some pancakes. I was only able to try a bit of his pancakes. They felt a bit overdone, but they were still good. The service was an easy 4-5 stars. I felt comfortable and the waitresses were always smiling. The food was about 3 stars. I think this place can do a lot better. They have the potential to be one of those rockstar hole in the wall places. I will return to try their country fried steak and I hope that motivates me in upgrading them to 4 stars. read more

We had the fish & chips as an appetizer for a group of 12. We order 2 pounds of fish and it was worth it. Then we ordered the Hammer (turkey sandwich with bacon on sourdough), chicken tenders (buttermilk batter!), French dip (really juicy and delicious!) a full stack with awesome bacon! They're known for some really good fish and chips, and that's definitely true. Mossman's serves their fish in bite-size pieces rather than the traditional half-filet. Some Englishmen might find that sacrilegious, but really it's not so bad when you find out that it's quite convenient to eat them in pieces. The batter is crispy and light while the fish itself stays flaky, never tough or dry. The tartar sauce they serve is literally the best I've ever tasted. The chips/fries are nothing special...pretty much your standard cut of potatoes from every diner. Try the fish with onion rings, theirs is actually quite good. The slaw is also tasty- just cabbage and dressing. Simple and effective. Service was really fast when I went. The place was packed due to people bowling and ordering take outs. But the staff was anticipating that. We even got seated just ten minutes or so from the time we arrived despite the crowd. Mossman's was really hectic, but our food came out quickly and our server definitely found the time to make sure our drinks were filled. Plus, it's definitely a bonus that you can reserve a lane and bowl a few squares before, during, and after your meal. read more

Taste like they're straight out of the can. Not even heated. To make it worse, they won't refund your money for nasty food. Bowlers are not treated as well as sit down customers.
