Opens at 8am for breakfast! Had wonderful food in a beautiful restaurant. Service was prompt but there weren't many people there. I'm shocked the place isn't busy! I'll be back so soon!

Came in for a late lunch with a small appetite. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Vibes are nice, everything looks clean but the food was not so good. I ordered the Sonder Cobb with chicken and my partner had the Nachos with steak for an additional cost. Food arrived in a timely manner. Chicken on salad was dry and very salty. Nachos arrived with hardly any cheese and a whole lot of refried beans. Honestly felt that the whole nacho dish came from cans, especially the beans. On top of that there was maybe like a total of 7 small (smaller than dime size) pieces of meat on the nachos. It was quite embarrassing to even charge extra for meat if they will hardly give you any. This place is nice but they do not prioritize the quality of food they serve.

I really wanted to like Sonder's new location because their other spot has such a cool vibe. Walking in, the space looks great--modern and stylish--but the food was a major letdown. The buffalo cauliflower seemed like raw cauliflower with lukewarm buffalo sauce poured over it. No crisp, no flavor--just sad. My steak salad wasn't much better. The meat was stringy and greasy, and the oil completely wilted the lettuce. The one saving grace was the cocktail, the Handshake. I wouldn't call it mezcal-forward--it was more like a smoky chocolate espresso cocktail, almost like it had a touch of wood-smoked essence. Absolutely delicious. It's honestly baffling how the drinks could be so good while the food was the total opposite. Come for the cocktails... definitely not the kitchen.

So cool to be here for their soft opening! 5 Star Service, fantastic work from the kitchen and bar, in the coolest new restaurant in West Bakersfield.

We came here as a party of 4 for brunch and the vibes and food were fantastic. We really wanted to check out Sonder's newer location and I'm so glad we did. I believe our server's name was Opie and he did a great job of making sure we were taken care of and was very attentive to our table. The monkey bread was a great appetizer for our table to start. I got the Rise n Shine and nothing beats this classic breakfast option. Our party did come in the night before for some cocktails and our espresso martinis and lemon drop were spot on! What a splendid experience

Met up with some friends for brunch and had a very enjoyable experience. So many good choices on the breakfast menu (offered until 2pm) and the lunch menu. We each tried a different entree, and all 5 were big hits. Monte Christo with tater tots, Girlfriend Burger with side salad, French Dip with fries, Sonder Club with sweet potato fries, and Mussels and Clams served with toasty bread. All good enough to recommend. Add a Bourbon and Berries and I was a very happy diner.

Tried the new Sonder this evening and was lucky enough to visit with the full menu available. We ordered the Brussels sprouts (a usual favorite), the pastrami sandwich--which was delicious--along with onion rings, and the chicken piccata served with a baked potato and vegetables. Everything was very good and the service was great. The chicken piccata was a little different from the traditional preparation; it was enjoyable. The restaurant is smaller than the other location, but even with all the tables filled, it didn't feel overcrowded.

Where is the cheese? Yeah, we were charged full price for everything that was deceived

If you want store bought air fried sweet potato fries, store bought manicotti not even warmed up properly, bland Walmart Mac and cheese, this is the place. I was so excited that an additional restaurant opened up near my house. I go to Chef Lino's all the time and I was expecting some high-quality food for the price that they're charging. Unfortunately, I came in and it is literally all store-bought. Nothing in here is made. It is all warmed up and bland and they're using the location to try to get a clientele to come in and overpay for food that they purchased at Walmart. And they can't even warm it up correctly I would not recommend this to anybody in our area Horrible And then they try to make us double pay for our dinner If you want a good dinner in our area, please go to Chef Lino's This place is horrible and horrible service If you're in the area, I want great food Go to Jack in the Box because it's better than this See the photos of the Smart and final sweet potato fries and The warmed up cheese on the manicotti Nothing here is fresh Thick disgusting bread on their "charcuterie"

We finally tried Sonder, and we are so happy we did!! Everything was seriously amazing--I'm honestly overly impressed. We tried the lemon pepper wings, the wedge salad, and the girlfriend burger, and every single dish was equally delicious. Zero complaints across the board. I also loved how extensive their lunch menu is--I'm already excited to go back and try more. Beyond the food being great, I absolutely loved the location and the ambience. It's super cute inside and feels fresh and different. The service was top-tier as well--Sara was our server and she was an absolute delight. We will definitely be returning!!

We went for a soft opening for breakfast, but lunch was also offered. We were the only ones in the restaurant because of the soft opening it was pleasant. We had great service lots of menu options for breakfast and for lunch... They offer a large range from biscuits and gravy, a burrito with french fries inside, flights of breakfast toast.

I've been a few times and have enjoyed it. Burgers and sandwiches have been great! Customer service is just outstanding and the look inside is really beautiful.

This isn't chilaquiles. At best, it's nachos with three ingredients.

If you love breakfast foods, you definitely can't go wrong by going here. I always struggle with what to choose because everything is so good! If you have a sweet tooth, the B-N-W waffle which has banana, Nutella, and walnuts for the toppings would be a great choice. The chilaquiles with any choice of meat is incredibly flavorful and one of my favorites on the menu. I also appreciate their extensive drinks menu as you can choose anything from a michelada to a latte. At this specific downtown location, the service is always great. The servers are friendly, attentive, and always make sure you're satisfied with your food/drinks.

We never been here so we just picked randomly on the menu! We got their Three Flight Mimosas with Original, Cranberry, & Strawberry. They were pretty good and refreshing. We also got the Banana and Berry Pancakes and made it a combo to get eggs and sausages in the side, the "Hot Mess" which is two pancakes, a waffle, a chicken, French toast, and an egg stacked on top of one another, and potatoes on the side! The food was amaaazing. Shout out to the chefs today because there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. Seasoning was great, cooked great, it was filling, pancakes were soft, it hit the spot! And our waitress Crystal was the sweetest. She was doing a great job taking care of us and many others in the dining room. It was also kept clean, the employees made sure to clean up ASAP when someone left, they're all working hard. 10/10 experience.

My only gripe is the parking or lack there of. Very tight and small in the designated parking on the west side of the restaurant and we've found it difficult to find parking on 18th street. The vibes in the new space are absolutely immaculate. There is so much more energy here, and the decorations are incredibly cute. It's the perfect backdrop for a killer meal. The Main Event: This time around, I went with the En Fuego Burger. This beast is loaded with a chile-spiced beef patty, pepperjack, sharp cheddar, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo, pepper relish, pickled jalapeños, and a mountain of fried jalapeños + onion strings. The Flavor Profile: This burger delivers on every level, but those fried onion strings were to die for. For the side, I got the sweet potato fries, which are served as big, thick-cut wedges. They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.

SMITTENS STAPLE IS THEIR ABILITY TO MISS THE FLAVOR IN EVER SINGLE DISH…read more Update: coming back after some palate development... smitten is one of the most tasteless restaurants in town. Their hype was definitely due to the 'aesthetic'. Nothing is really outstanding to me. The drinks are such a let down, the coffee is borderline yuck.. do not recommend. Everything is quite unmemorable. Service is whatever, sometimes mid, sometimes bad. Nothing outstanding. Ambiance.... well... this one has been replicated one too many times. The food is heavily missing flavor, the hummus is disgusting. I can't believe they call that thing hummus, it's an insult to actual dish.. it's almost like it was trying to imitate the real dish, but failed terribly in even attempting to. Their pizza tasted like play-doh and looked very pale. Smitten is at least consistent with one thing, which is their staple: no flavor. One of the breaking points for me was being served food that had someone's HAIR. The restaurant is very expensive for the poor experience they have to offer. I stopped recommending them a long time ago.
