Having recently moved to the Morrison area I've had the pleasure of stopping by the Holiday Bar on a couple of occasions. This place reminds me of any number of bars in Northern Minnesota where locals and people up from the city on vacation hang togather. A very friendly, laid back place to be. Decent beer selection and no pretentions. Last time I was there we were invited to share a table with a bunch of bikers, who just happened to be Country Club members that were there drinking with the groundskeeper...good times. This has always been one of my favorite places in Morrison. I used to work in this town so I found myself here often after business hours. It's just a great little neighborhood biker bar with friendly people. They will always make you welcome. I hadn't visited in awhile until recently and see they've made a lot of great changes. There's a lot more space in the back, along with a huge covered patio with a fire pit that is the smoking section...if you really need to smoke. My sister does, that's why I know that. Ugh. Anyway, the next time you're in Morrison, perhaps after hiking around Red Rocks, you should stop by and relax with a beer. read more

Really, really UNfriendly crowd, in an old and seriously outdated small town bar the size of a shoebox. Ridiculously overpriced drinks with a stinky, greasy spoon hamburger joint thick with grill smoke. Three major league strikes - but it gets worse. The 50s-reject country tables and chairs (*yeee haww*) are not nearly as sad as the disgustingly filthy carpet. The things growing and thriving in that beer-drenched carpet are best not considered. Wretched cigarette stench overpowers the place as it pours from the attached tin shack with ragged pool.tables. The Ladies Room has ONE TOILET. Obviously the place is never full - or the regulars use the composting toilets in their camper vans instead. This place is far from anyone's idea of a 'Holiday'. Do yourself a favor and GO elsewhere. read more

It's know wondering that they have you pay for your food first, I would have walked out and went somewhere different. It took forever to get our food. 45min for 2 sandwiches. And know one said sorry or even let us know way it was taking so long. the only good thing was the bar. nice people and good beer. read more

I recently moved to CO from NJ and this bar quickly felt like home. I recommend this spot if you're looking for good drinks, good music, good food and good people. Really neat little bar in Morrison! Great beer selection, awesome bartender and a really low key vibe. This was a great spot to stop after hiking. You can order food from a partner restaurant and eat it inside, but the bar itself only serves snacks. I enjoyed this spot for a cold beer and hanging out with my friends. Nothing fancy, but we felt totally comfortable in our hiking gear. read more

The local PD recommended this place. It ended up being a great place to stop for a drink and a bite after our hike. Good eats, lots 'o drinks, TVs, and casual atmosphere. Note: there is no table service, so you have to order your drinks at bar and run next door to order food separate, although runners bring your food. Burgers very reasonably priced and tasty (other food options too). Good selection of drinks...and they even have Moscow mules in authentic mugs. I'll go back! read more

Apparently if you park behind this bar in Morrison and then go across the street they will TOW YOUR CAR. I'm a veteran and a Harley rider and have never been treated so poorly. I called and left messages to talk with owner Dave, several times about the incident he never took the time to return my calls, so I went in and spoke with him. His only reply was if you leave the premises you will be towed, even though I had asked the bartender Cody, that very question , his reply was if you come back and get a beer you're good. I've been in this bar a few times before but I will NOT be going back I can assure you of that, it's ran by an absolute idiot, who I can only guess is working with the towing company and has found a new form of revenue. Never again will I step foot in this bar. Very disappointed. read more

Went on a whim from a recommendation made by a friend and was not disappointed. The bar food was good and the ambiance was great. Good people in a beautiful area of the country. Do not miss it. We have been coming to Morisson Holiday bar for years. We love it and love the staff. Tonight after work we wanted to relax and have a beer (or two...). At first, it was the usual atmosphere, music playing and sports on muted TVs. Then inexplicably, the music was turned off and all channels were tuned into Msnbc for the Jan 6th trial... No matter what side you're on, the LAST thing you want to see and hear while trying to relax and have drinks at a cool, local bar is politics, and up until last night MHB has always fit the bill... We were shocked when one of the bartenders told us they couldn't change what was being televised since it was the owner that instructed them to put it on and leave it on. So the owner decided against good business sense to force patrons to watch AND listen to politics. We expressed our disappointment and left, ending up at our other Morrison hangout, Red Rocks Beer Garden - no tvs/politics, just chill music to match the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, and they have a better selection of beers! read more

I love this bar. Coolest bar in the area hands down. Dave the owner is an absolute gem of a human being. They have open mic nights Mondays and Wednesdays, which represent some of the best people watching available this side of east Colfax. Could not communicate that she needed to see IDs before she could serve everyone instead got pissed and kicked ecerone out. After remodeling & taking out a beautiful old bar and putting in an ugly stainless steel one they raised their prices through the roof Apparently anticipating a big red rocks crowd this year and ripping off the tourists. I recently played the Monday open mic at the Holiday Bar. The owner's were very friendly and flexible in letting our rock trio play on the same stage as their usually blues crowd. There was an interesting mix of people there as well. The locals crowded the bar as a younger crowd took to the open patio to play darts. Everyone shared the same musical enthusiasm though, even if zoning restriction might make some musicians turn the volume down from 11. For a starting band looking to get some stage time i definitely suggest this bar for an impromptu gig but they have musical events all week. read more

This is a great local bar. Everyone seems to know everyone! I do like that they seem to have events throughout the year to bring the locals together. Very laid back and friendly environment. If you want a quick bite to eat they have a sub shop attached with some decent food. read more

Well, this was bullshit. Sunday beer special listed as Batch19,$3. Sat down, asked if it was Batch 19 night. They said it was and we had four. Comes the check, $18. Oh, what is this? Well, that is for a 12oz plastic cup, the special. Thanks for telling me that- now. Very deceiving. You lost me as a customer. Will not be back. As an addendum here. When my credit card bill came I saw I was charged $36 for this bill. Got it all ironed out OK. But if you go here, keep an eye on that bill. read more

Somehow took down our review of the waiter calling me the n word (im white). Me and my friends were sitting at a table and the waiter asked to see our ids. We didnt have them, so he told us to get out. We were fine with leaving as we didnt want to start anything. As we were gathering our things he told us to get the f out now or he will call the cops. I said, "were leaving, you dont gotta be such an a hole about it" I understand how that is wrong and provacative, but the waiters reaction was uncalled for. He proceeded to make fun of my weight, calling me fat boy. I told him to f off and not talk shi about my weight. He then YELLED get the f out n word. Multiple people heard this mas scream that at us. We yelled at him calling him a racist and got in our car and left. Hoping the other customers reported this guy and got him fired. We left a review but it got taken down. I wanted to be honest about what happened that night, the wrong from both sides. Be warned about this place! read more

What a crappy excuse for a bar. Friday night, large group asking for 3 pitchers of beer minimum? We were refused service because the female brunette bartender didn't communicate efficiently when asking for ID's. She asked "for whom?" Instead of asking for identification. All of us are 27 and above and we were quite literally thrown out of the bar because we were asking her to clarify her words. Confused, we all realized we were refused service because she was too busy to accommodate us and our good money. She pulled the hair and shoved one of our party members and allowed one of her patrons to verbally abuse another member of our party. I have never been treated with such DISRESPECT at an establishment and even though the cops were called and we decided to not press charges, I will NEVER spend my money at that business ever again and I will make sure everyone I know avoids this POS bar. What a huge disappointment. I'm in Morrison at least once a month and I am appalled at the lack of respect. read more

This is a pretty cool place in downtown Morrison. It seems like a locals joint with a number of bikers parading through as well. The bar has character, the bartenders provide good service, prices are good, and there's a patio in the back as well. They've got a few TVs showing sporting events, a stage for live music and they were having a poker tournament there while we were there to watch some football as well. Overall, a really cool spot I'd frequent more often if I lived in the area. read more

This is a nice, local place to hang out. I love coming here when I want to get out of "town," but don't want to venture too far from the city. The people that hang out there are pretty cool and nice, and the bikers frequent it. They have a back enclosed patio area with a fire pit which I love, also pool and darts! Four stars for the bar! No stars for the food, but I don't want to take away from how wonderful this bar is. I've been here a number of times. Tried the food for the first time. Had a burger and it was really bad. Reminded me of a cafeteria burger. I was starving so I forced 1/2 of it down. Again - go for the bar, the music, the fun, the craziness. If you like to find non-touristy bars in a touristy town, this is it! My friend always liked to go to the pretty famous Morrison Inn, which also has a nice patio, but one time they were closed for some reason. We wandered around and found this place. It is very local, one of those places where everyone, mostly cowboys, give you the once over when you come in, but after a couple of drinks everyone was really friendly. I would visit every couple of months and some of the bartenders and clientele would remember me. I smoke, so I especially like this place, as they have an enclosed patio with fireplaces and heaters, which is great in December in Colorado! I have been going to the Holiday on and off for a lot of years. It's a friendly bar with a rustic mountain flair that's just the kind of place I like. They fill your draft beer to the brim and they have good live music in the evenings. The people there are down to earth and I always enjoy myself when I go there. We have been coming to this bar for a while now, we don't frequent the place like some might do, but we like the bar and where it's located. We show up for there annual duck races and other functions when things are happening in the town of Morrison. Yesterday was supposed to be a happy day for all fathers since it was Father's Day. We stopped in for a few drinks with my parents, in-laws and grandparents. We set outside and my kids and brother in-law were hungry and decided to order some food. The food is usually pretty quick there, but our food never came. My daughter and brother in-law went to the counter and asked about there food since everyone else had been getting there's before them. My brother in-law and daughter were spoke too like garbage by the cook. My wife then went in with my daughter to ask for the food, she was told by the cook that there food was given away since my daughter and brother in-law had walked back out the door. My wife asked for the manager. The manager came over and my wife told him what was going on and my wife was told in front of my daughter that we could take our business to the Mexican restaurant up the street. Seriously that's how a manager speaks to customers who have a problem. Yes we are Mexican and that has nothing to do with what we were asking for from him. To refuse our service is one thing, but to tell us to go to a Mexican restaurant is just absurd and ignorant. We did speak to the owner who was apologetic. He didn't know how to make the situation right. We weren't asking for a handout as we can afford to pay our tabs. He said he would talk to his staff. I would have let any of my employee's go on the spot if one single racist remark was to made to any human being. Today's world is so horrible sometimes and people we sometimes interact with can make you feel as low as an individual as they can. I don't condone racism nor will I let my children use racism in there lives. So after yesterday i will unfortunately no longer go to the Morrison Holiday Bar and will take my business to another establishment that doesn't just have to be Mexican because of what my ethnicity might be. read more
