My wife and I came to meet some friends who had brought their dog, so we sat on the outside patio. The heater didn't work, so we spent the whole meal freezing (it was December and 50 degrees outside). The place was not busy at all, but the wait staff only came out to take our order and 30 minutes later to deliver our food (a long wait considering we were the only customers). We all had ordered coffees yo keep us warm and no one came out to give us refills or to check on how we're doing. We had to get our second choices because they had no avocados! What? Cool, fresh and bright. Really enjoyed the aesthetic of this joint. Our server was upbeat, friendly, and attentive. Cappuccino and coffee arrived quickly and our order was delivered efficiently, as well. My husband enjoyed his chicken and waffles. The gravy on my biscuits was decent but unfortunately the biscuits were dry, slightly overcooked and the potatoes lacked heat and flavor. I came in one time and saw a rat run across the restaurant. I didn't know want to make a big deal about it until then my food was cold, no flavor in the omelettes and slow staff I asked for my check immediately. this place just isn't what it used to be. it has to be somewhere in ownership or management. however I did think the bald guy in black who stared me down while spacing out into abyss had something to do with hospitality because that was super unpleasant. it's also sad to watch management be so obsessed with their business be in complete and utter disgrace. To know you're not making money constantly but is unwilling to make changes. I just had breakfast there for the first time. I arrived around 8:30 on Sunday morning and was seated promptly. Service was top notch. The stuffed churro French toast was OMG incredible! I had a side of turkey sausage which was also really good. You would not believe it was turkey unless they told you. The cold brew was also very good. The only "negative" was they did not have simple syrup for the ice coffee, only flavored syrups. I used sugar and it was ok. If you are looking for a really good breakfast spot in downtown Phoenix at reasonable prices this place should be at the top of your list. read more

I LOVE breakfast and brunch, and am a huge eggs benedict stan through and through. Out of the hundred plus breakfast spots I've been to. This place has THE BEST hollandaise sauce I've ever had. When our food was delivered, we had no silverware so I asked the hostess stand if they could possibly help us out and I was informed that they knew that and the dishwashers were working on it, even though there was silverware sitting right in front of them clean. I had to explain that we had food and needed silverware so we could eat it before they would give me some. As we were leaving what's happening at the front? Approximately four employees sitting and chatting while the few servers are running around like crazy. Seems to me there's a lack of understanding of how a restaurant works. We were in downtown Phoenix for the weekend and needed a bite of breakfast and coffee -- so glad we found Morning Squeeze! The barista was so kind when we jokingly requested latte art on our coffee and he made us a couple drinks until he made a cute design out of the foam. The lox bagel was pretty solid and huge portion size for its price (pictured is just half the bagel!) and the staff was kind enough to split it up for us and make our dining experience memorable.
