Lemon Blueberry Pancakes
Lexi M.

Best. Breakfast. Spot. We had the most amazing time here! David was our waiter and he started our day off with lots of smiles and laughs. The food was unreal and left us wanting more. We came here hungry and we all ordered two dishes. Yes, it was an absolute girl breakfast. I ordered the Carrot, Ginger, Turmeric and Apple sunrise boost to get a heathy start to the day before I devoured all the food I had just ordered and the drinks I will be having. I later tried that lavender lift, spiked and it was the most delicious cocktail I've ever had. The lavender wasn't overpowering and the lemonade was so refreshing. Now because we were having a tasting breakfast, we ordered all the dishes below: Lemon Blueberry Cannoli Pancakes Avocado toast & scrambled eggs Biscuits & Gravy Harvest Omelette Seasoned Potatoes Blueberry lemon cinnamon roll To say that everything was delicious would be an understatement. Everything was hot coming out of the kitchen and the flavors were amazing. This place gets packed quick, but let me tell you, the wait is totally worth it!

Biscuits and peppercorn gravy, and bacon

It was one of the first lovely days of spring and I decided to get breakfast at the Morning Belle, and to sit outside with my coffee, to soak up the sun. I had gone by a few times before and was curious about it. I requested an outside seat. Breakfast is my favorite thing to eat, at least when I take myself out. I don't know why. I don't eat breakfast at home. I think the warm, homey feelings it gives me to have someone slide a steaming cup of coffee and some biscuits and gravy in front of me makes me feel like I'm celebrating my birthday morning. I ordered biscuits and peppercorn gravy , bacon (both a la carte) and steel-cut oats. To make it extra special I added seasonal fresh fruit to the oats. I was served promptly with a smile, and It was unbelievably good! The biscuits were some of the best, flakiest biscuits I've had.

Nice breakfast place! Was able to get a seat at the bar. Service was friendly and super fast! I ordered a dirty chai and the shrimp & grits. Both delicious, and the grits were very hearty as they also came with chorizo and bacon. Slightly on the pricier side, but portion sizes were good.

Food was fantastic and came out so fast! My server was nice, listened to preferences and was generally attentive. Being on the Beltine makes it a bit more accessible and quick to just drop in.

You see, no food?

We reserved the table, I got a massage that the table it ready and they will not hold the table for any longer than 10 minutes. So I rushed to get here, just to learn that the table is not ready for the next 10 minutes. I asked the person what happened and she just said "its just not ready ". ‍‍‍ We also got here at 11:40, its 12:37 rn and we still didn't get the food. The picture proves there's no food on the table.

Meat Lovers Bowl

I recently dined in at Morning Belle for a Sunday breakfast. It is a much bigger location than their bridge street location which I had been to previously. They also have a huge parking lot here so no need to worry about finding parking or walking far. We were seated right away and ordered coffees and waters to start. I will say that their coffee is not good lol. I drink black coffee so maybe if I put creamer in it then it would be better. They do put the carafe on your table though which is pretty nice! I got the meat lovers bowl and a side of toast for my meal. I really liked this! Very tasty and my over easy eggs were cooked perfect. It didn't say on the menu that the bowl came with toast already so with the side of toast I ordered, I had 6 slices total. I wish the waitress would have said something but I just put some of it in my to go box anyways.

I came here with a group of 10+ people with a 10:30am reservation on a Saturday. It was fairly busy and we still had to wait about an extra 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. However, the service and food quality made up for it. The Gardener's Eggs Benedict was satisfying and not too heavy; the focaccia bread was amazing. I really preferred that bread over a traditional English muffin. Only other disappointing factor was a side of bacon is $4.50 and you get 2 strips. Overall, I would come back since there were multiple other menu items I'd like to try.

Cute atmosphere. Great service! I was dining with a friend and we shared 2 very different meals. We love love loved the Salmon Avocado Toast! It was wonderful, we both thought it had amazing flavor and was delicious! The Superfood Berry Bowl was good but I was not a fan of the texture, it was very soupy. I love açaí bowls but this one was not one of my favs, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.

This was an odd experience. We saw the restaurant when visiting the area and decided to check it out for breakfast as the building looked quite nice. When we entered the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised at how adorable the interior was! Maybe the appearance made my expectations too high. The server was nice but loud. Granted we were only two tables from the kitchen, but it was obvious when she was talking in the back. When my hubby complained about the coffee being weak, she quickly investigated the situation and (loudly) told the new person that he/she was supposed to use two bags of coffee to brew. That brewed quickly and stronger coffee arrived. I tend to order sides for my breakfast - I don't want eggs or any dairy so I tend to get bacon, potatoes and fruit. The fruit cup was nice - loved the variety. The bacon was bacon, so of course it was delicious. The potatoes were a bit odd. To me, it tasted like warm German potato salad. Hubby did not agree but there was some sort of spice on the potatoes that just gave me that impression/taste. It was not bad per se, but it was not our fav part of the meal.

Always enjoy my brunch/breakfasts when I head to either Morning Belle location. Flavors, ingredients, portions are all great. It's always busy (another way to tell it's good food!) Decor is similar at either GR location, like springtime cafe. I will say, I didn't think the cold brew coffee (or iced coffee??...it's been a while since the meal & this review) isn't worth the price.

Smoked Salmon Benedict

Service was lackluster but we knew that in advance from the reviews. Very slow for a breakfast place that should be able to turn over tables quickly. The food was pretty alright. Nothing to write home about but not bad either. Both Benedict's were good. It was surprising to me that they pan poach the eggs when it is a breakfast restaurant but they were fine. Unevenly cooked and neither of mine had a runny center. The potatoes were ok overall- I prefer more of a crisp. The cinnamon roll was delicious, barely warm though. It is more of a powdered sugar glaze rather than a cream cheese glaze. It is cute and farmy inside so would be fun to bring a group to for breakfast but I'd expect to be there quite a while. For 2, we were there about 2 hours.

My boyfriend and I stumbled in during happy hour and were happy to grab some cheap drinks, but the main event was the burger! We typically like sitting at the bar as well and chat with the bartender who was absolutely lovely! The dirty martini was okay but I will definitely order something else next time as the olives just didn't hit for me. It's a quaint and quiet spot - you can read that as intimate - since it's not loud or rowdy, so if you want a really sweet date spot, feel free to check this one out! Otherwise, you can just go and have a casual, delicious dinner. I'd just recommend a reservation if you are going on a weekend or don't want to wait/sit at the bar!

This was my first time at at Little Bird and it definitely did not disappoint. However, I now see why it's called Little Bird because the inside is definitely small but that just adds to the ambiance. When we walked in the restaurant was bustling and packed, but we got seated right away by the door which was cool because we could people watch. Our server greeted us immediately and filled our glasses with water. She was nice and answered all of our questions. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with my brunch choices which were the soup of the day, a lentil curry, pumpkin seed combo with tons of good seasoning and cilantro on top...it was soooo good and vegan friendly! For my entree I got the tofu sandwich with the most amazing side salad that had this lemon dressing that set it off right! I could have just had a plate of the salad! Although the tofu sandwich was good, it was a bit on the salty side for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place for vegan options and I'd come back. Just be aware they don't take reservations for brunch and it's pretty loud, but it's a really cute establishment and I was pleased with the food and service. Give it a try!!!

It was a 45 minute wait today but my friend and I found seats at the bar and got coffee while we waited and we were able to order our food shortly after. Our waiter, Drew, was amazing and knew my friend from being a regular. He checked in on us frequently and made sure our coffee was full while we waited on the food. Since they were pretty slammed, our food took some time to come out but it was worth the wait. I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken frittata that my friend recommended and the spread was beautiful and it was delicious. If you like sweet and savory, this is the perfect dish with chicken and veggies in jerk sauce on top of frittata eggs topped with cheese and pineapple. Yum! The portion size covered the whole plate so I have leftovers for tomorrow! My friend got the steak and eggs and her gf got the hash Benedict. They both have been here before and I see why they went back. I will also be back soon! Other things to note is they have a shared parking lot so this is helpful if you don't want to do street parking. Also I would describe the ambiance as a higher-end diner with great service!

So when my family and I were walking around downtown Grand Rapids and needed a place to eat breakfast, we popped into Social Misfits because their menu is basically 90% waffles. My kids love waffles. Every kid loves waffles. Waffles it is! This is a great restaurant for families (because ... waffles), but also a great restaurant for adults because they have a nice selection of creative cocktails in the evening, and coffee in the morning. Social Misfits is basically waffles, alcohol and caffeine, in that order. When we visited in the morning, the adults opted for coffee (really great black coffee!) and the kids both opted for the Little Lad, a waffle topped with strawberries, blueberries and chantilly cream (basically whipped cream, but a little sweeter and whipped a little longer). Both of my children ate most of their waffle, which is a big thing, considering they usually eat like birds. We also got the Son of a Biscuit, which was a garlic parmesan waffle topped with chicken sausage gravy and a fried egg. You could add fried chicken to the mix for an extra $6 (we did not). This one was fine, but the egg was way overcooked! Oh well. Lastly: We got the Ol' Blue Eyes, a waffle topped with blueberry compote, lemon curd, whipped ricotta and graham cracker crumbs. This one tasted amazing, but there was so much blueberry compote and lemon curd that it made the waffle a bit soggy. I think the chef was feeling generous with the toppings, but homie needed to hold back a tad. Sometimes, a little bit goes a long way! Fifty percent less gloppy stuff would have made this waffle dish 100% better. If you ain't really about that waffle life, then not to worry. Social Misfits also has a few "not waffles" items on the menu, like salads, sandwiches and a couple of bar snacks. But I think if you visit this restaurant, you need to just embrace waffles. There are more than a dozen different waffles on the menu. They're all fun and well-thought-out. Pick one and eat waffles for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Honestly it was an incredible location for a space and had such a great vibe inside. My best friend is a regular at the restaurant and we're hoping to see them more in smaller capacities like when we saw them at the Fulton St. Market. Overall, the food was really good. I like the concept of fast-casual dining without the need to have a server. I think it allows things to feel more casual and allowed for me to be more willing to eat there (obviously in other circumstances lol). I got the horchata hot cakes with some of the papas with ghost sauce. I thought the pancakes were GREAT and more than worth it for the price. I was surprised how large and fluffy they were. The flavor was great without being too sweet and none of the flavors being too overpowering. My friends got the breakfast sandwiches and chaichata drinks and absolutely loved them. Different from the last time I was here but we were told to find a seat upon entering and that when we were ready, we could order our food at the counter. I looked over their menu and found lots of good breakfast taco options, the breakfast burrito I have heard is great, but what really caught my attention was the biscuits and gravy. I was feeling quite ravenous this morning and got the full order for $11 and a side of bacon. They had a table close to the entrance with extra menus, clean cups, water jugs, hot sauces, silverware and napkins. Seemed like a help-yourself vibe which I grabbed everything we would need for our meal. Our food was brought to us rather quickly and my bf ordered the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs and sausage. He told me it tasted so good and he loved that he could make his own tacos with his food. He let me try one of the hashbrown rounds and it was perfectly crispy! My biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. The biscuits were so fresh and the gravy had a really nice and comforting flavor to it. You could get chorizo and mushrooms in your gravy but i went with a traditional sausage for my protein. My bacon on the side came in a tiny dish but I ate all four pieces haha. Once we finished, there were some bus bins under the same table with the silverware, we placed all our dirty dishes there and cleaned up after ourselves before leaving. I honestly felt so content leaving there and can't wait to return. I really appreciate the ambiance in there with the beautiful plant life, the lights on the ceiling, and cool decor in general. The staff was also SO NICE! Wins everywhere. I also noticed people coming in for takeout which is good to know in case I don't feel like dining in some morning. Please check this place out sometime if you're in the mood for some really good breakfast that doesn't break your bank account.
