After a couple of mid-reviewed dinners in Miami, we spotted Morgan's and decided to give it a try. We had been disappointed with other restaurants, so we were just expecting a quick, average bite. To our pleasant surprise, we finally found a great restaurant! The food at Morgans was so excellent that we came back the very next day. The service and ambiance were a plus. We were a party of 13- we each ordered our own plates, 5-6 appetizers, 2 pitchers of sangria, additional drinks, and the bill was $54 (split between 12 people). We were a large party looking for a brunch spot on Monday, so we came here on a suggestion. When we arrived there was a bit of a wait, but we had a reservation and were sat within 15-20 mins of it. The restaurant feels like a revamped home. We were sat upstairs in a cutely decorated room. The pink wallpaper and askew art work gave it charm. They have a large menu with a great selection for breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner. We went with pitchers of mimosas which turned out to be a great choice for the amount of people we had. Went here for brunch-everything we had was absolutely delicious. And the portion sizes were hearty. I ordered the Morgan's salad and it was exactly what I imagined: tasty shiitake mushrooms, beets, bacon, walnuts on mixed greens. They only thing in substituted was bleu cheese instead of goat cheese, as it's not my favorite. My salad was so huge-I could only eat half and left the other half for dinner. My daughter had brioche French toast with a side of maple bacon. Another mouthwatering choice. It was soft, succulent and so tasty that I helped her eat it. Every time I drive by Morgan's, it's front porch seating seems to be packed. So naturally my curiosity led me here for a Saturday brunch. Although it was raining, the place still appeared full so I figured it had to be good and waited. There is a hostess stand by the walk up, but there was no one there to greet and no servers acknowledged the growing line of people so I had to ask a couple of times how the seating work. Growing a little concerned when 3 people who arrived after just waited at the stand and were helped over the line of people. That had me and my guest wondering if we should leave. When I left the line to speak to the hostess she did say right away there was plenty of seating and that we could follow her. As she led us and another couple through the first floor, it was the first time I realized there was a whole second floor to the place- and it is gorg. I love the unique design of quite literally being a restaurant within the natural walls of a home- wallpapered in pink florals the second floor had a main area lined with booths and three separate rooms for seating- most of which was empty so we sat in a comfy corner by the window. We ordered cornbread and Bellinis to start, and feeling a sweet breakfast we went with chicken and waffles and French toast with an egg on the side. Although the ambiance was fit for a boozy brunch, I would have loved the food to have been a bit more flavorful. The cornbread was neither warm nor soft and even a little dry, although it did come with butter and a was a hefty basket for a serving. The Chicken on the waffles was totally bland. I was not expecting that from what is typically a savory and sweet dish. We asked about warm syrup and since they do not do that there, we did use our customary hot water that we clean utensils with, in order to heat up the syrup and which was nice touch. The French toast, was my favorite. An over medium egg cooked to perfection balanced out the French toast that had a dollop of brown sugar in the middle and accented strawberries. For a place that seems to entertain plenty of large groups and parties, I would have loved to count on it in the future for a gathering of my own but I wouldn't want to disappoint my guests with lack of flavor for flash and picture worthy views. Overall- My experience at Morgans was made by the ambiance of a cottage like home especially on a rainy afternoon. The seating system was lowkey stressful and felt like intentional neglect, and the food was average. I'd return to try something else on the menu with someone I could enjoy plenty of conversation with over drinks. read more

The service was quick and efficient and the portions of the food was crazy. Decided to try a couple items before I hit the road and the entrees didn't disappoint. I'm holding back a star because the beignets were burnt and had a bad bitter taste. Had I tried them there and didn't take them to go I would have returned them and asked for my refund. Went to Morgan's tonight for a quick meal. We have not been there in a few years and I'm happy to say it was great. They do not have a full bar but a great everyday Happy Hour. They offer Sangria Mimosas and Bellini's as well as a very nice select of wines. I had the meatloaf and it was great did not take a pix but I will be back for sure. My husband had the burger w side come slaw and it was great. Our waiter suggested the banana pudding g and it was great, worth the calories. There portions are very really great on all the food we ordered. We will be back. Kyle was our server and he was very attentive and suggested the pudding. We came here for brunch and I was not impressed at all. Giving it 3/5 because of the French toast which are to die for, not too sweet and great balance with the raspberry's and the mascarpone. Let's start with the sitting, we made a line but we were seated in like 15mins, big table for 4 of us inside. Eggs Benedict 3/5: great poached egg and ham was tasty but a bit cold and the bread was as hard as a brick. Chicken Waffles 3/5: good waffle but the chicken could use a bit more salt. They recommend mixing it with a sriracha sauce and it does make a difference but to me you can't base a whole dish around a sauce specially when there are people that don't like spicy sauces. French toast 5/5: amazing, the bread is great, the ratio of raspberry and mascarpone is excellent. I would order them again. Service 2/5, super rude waitress which didn't help the overall experience. I really enjoyed my food & everyone in my party was satisfied with their plate. Plating was beautiful. HUGE portions - you can definitely share entrees. Our server was super friendly. The only thing - I absolutely would not recommend the beignets. The menu warns you that it will take 30 min - we waited much longer than that and they were burnt on the outside and totally raw in the middle. Seriously, I don't know how or why I keep ending up at Morgan's. It's been more than 3 years since my last visit to Morgan's, at it was just as disappointing as I remember it. I ended up here for a friend's birthday brunch. She made reservations days prior, and waited over an hour to be seated. Once seated, the service was plain sorry. The restaurant allowed for the "line" to congregate all across the second floor. We were quickly surrounded by 20+ waiting people who constantly shoving into the group I was with, while we were eating. Eventually, we asked our server to please help organize it, because it was beyond uncomfortable. Being that I'd already tried their mediocre chicken + waffle sandwich, and their french toast in the past, I decided to switch it up. I ordered the frittata and though it looked beautiful, it tasted like something I lazily could have worked up at home. That being said, I think it was the best call on the menu... some basic eggs and greens. Can't go wrong, won't be soggy or salty or cold. I think the general consensus was that our experience was a far cry from being worth the 90 minute wait WITH a reservation. If it weren't my best friend's birthday, I know we would have simply found another trendy mediocre brunch spot in Wynwood. read more

They say looks can be deceiving. To remain unbiased, you give the food the benefit of the doubt. When I entered Morgan's, the host seated me promptly. The downside is that he didn't know about anything on the menu! How can anyone work at an establishment and not know what they are serving regardless of if you are a host or server. My server comes to my table, didn't greet me asking me if I knew what I wanted. I asked for some recommendations and decided to go with the chicken and biscuits. It came with choice of egg. I went with scrambled. I also ordered a lemonade. When I got my food, it looked like a massive amount of everything but in reality it was an oversized brick of a biscuit, an egg that was scrambled and fried and two chicken tender strips. The biscuit was cold and hard. It had no flavor even with the chicken gravy which wasn't homemade but some type of packet type gravy. It was easy to taste and know it wasn't authentic. Coming from southern roots, biscuits are a staple for many meals in the southern home and this wasn't it!!! The tenders were hot, but didn't taste fresh. The fact that the chicken wasn't seasoned was a travesty. The breading was light and that was really the highlight of the strips. The eggs tasted overdone. There is such a thing of frying an egg too hard after scrambling. You should be able to enjoy a fluffy egg with the meal. Add that along with no seasoning and the whole meal comes out to being abysmal. Finally the lemonade was more tart then sweet. Being a owner of a lemonade business my customers can attest that I make the best lemonade, so it's nice to patronize other establishments and what they offer in other places. It definitely wasn't worth 6$ Bottom line is that Morgan's may have other items that are tastier on the menu but speaking from what I ate, it was not the best. When you have a popular, tight venue, with beautiful brunch it calls all the girls to the yard. All jokes aside, my girlfriend and I walked in on the first day of 2020. The weather was perfect to sit outside in this midtown location around 1pm. We ordered chicken and waffles and brioche french toast. The waffles were sort of tasteless but the chicken almost made up for it - it was at it's utmost crunch. The brioche french toast is the one that you want to order as it's thick and very tasty. Don't forget to get some fresh strawberry lemonade, it gives you the same feeling as 125 likes on Instagram. On the down side, they ran out of lemonade by the time I asked for a refill. I thought "wow this spot is so cute" little did I know this place has no personality (bad service) & no flavor (non of my food had seasoning) This isn't a vegan restaurant my "fried chicken" should taste like fried chicken. Really wanted to love this restaurant but just couldn't. It was one of the few places open Memorial Day Monday and was packed so we were excited to check it out. Went with a group of 5, we didn't have a reservation but we were seated in no time. They have covered outdoor seating and a parking lot. The staff were very friendly but it was a busy morning and we often felt forgotten. As for the food it was underwhelming. They don't season their chicken, at all, and recommended we try the different sauces to add flavor. I got the chicken and waffles sandwich which was fairly okay after drenching it in hot sauce and syrup. My BIL had the avocado toast which he did enjoy. I personally wouldn't go back. But if you want to give them a try just keep in mind they season their food minimally which just isn't my preference read more
