Ok food but overpriced. I was confused by this restaurant. They have a Michelin star, I assume for the pastries only because the food was just ok. The madame Croque sandwich was one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. Dry and flavorless. The eggs Benedict were ok. The highlight of the meal was the steak sandwich. We ordered an overpriced pistachio croissant which was good, but definitely not worth the price. But worse than the croissant was the Easter Egg dessert for $14+. It was tiny and sooo overpriced. I didn't even find it good. We were sat outside, in what looked like an afterthought of a set up. The ambiance was so weird. After the meal my kids wanted to seat inside by the window to watch how pastries were made. The whole bar across the window was dirty and lots of dirty cutlery were left all along. This was the best meal that we had on our most recent trip to Miami. We made a reservation for Sunday brunch weeks in advance, and we recommend that you do too because this place is jam-packed and bumpin'. We got a table in the main dining space, and while the acoustics aren't great, they're not detrimental to enjoying your meal. And we liked the open, minimal vibe. The first thing we need to do is shout out our server, Jose, who was just so sweet, polite, and attentive. Give the kid a raise! We put our orders and drinks in, and one of our few complaints is that the drinks ended up coming to our table about ten seconds before the actual food. The cappuccino and iced coffee are delicious, and worth the wait, but still. One of us ordered their chopped power Asia salad, and we only wish the portion was bigger because it was so damn tasty. A super umami, peanut-y dressing with plenty of veggies. Ahmmmahhhzzzzzing. The croque madame did deflate us bit because it just wasn't very impressive considering the high standards of everything else here. Like, it was fine, but seemed more like an after thought broiled grilled cheese than an elevated dish. Our daughter got the salmon scramble (don't ask), and if you're into that kind of thing, it's good enough. We also ordered (upon Jose's advice) the guava and cheese pancakes for us all to share. The pancakes themselves were bonkers delicious (so fluffy!) and while we liked the whole Miami-guava component, the whole thing was *really* sweet. Like, too sweet. There were layers of guava jam between the pancakes and a guava compote on top, and a sweet cream frosting and maple syrup...so be prepared for your blood sugar to absolutely skyrocket. We also couldn't help ourselves and ordered a pistachio croissant from the pastry case, and damn it was so yummy, but there was too much cream inside. Bachour seems to want to sugarize the lily! A bit overkill on the sweets here... So, while the meal wasn't perfect, we did have a really nice time before having to head to the airport and would recommend this place to others. Went to Bachour for brunch, which was extremely busy. We were a party of six so we sat outside. Their outside seating is under an arch that causes a wind tunnel - it gets very windy. I was very surprised they have paper menus. Our paper menus were blowing away. I recommend Bachour adds a QR code to their outside tables to avoid the paper menus flying away. I was delighted with our food options: guava pancakes, tequeños, tostones, yogurt and berries, Burrata salad, and an egg sandwich . I LOVED that their OJ was reasonably priced. I knew when I planned this trip with my friend that I wanted to take her here for her 1st time because I had loved its aesthetics as well as nice looking pastries! I ordered the Exotic Tart as well as one of their berry tart-like pastries and loved both! The tropical tart which had passionfruit was the perfect ratio of tartness with sweet, and the crust was the perfect texture. I also really enjoyed the berry dessert, because I'm always a fan of tart-like pastries with fresh fruit on top. I came in to Bachour today morning for a nice cafecito and some breakfast and was reminded about how much good hospitality can elevate any experience. Sergi our server was an absolute gem. When we got to the restaurant it was as expected very busy but we were seated at our table within 5 minutes. I didn't mind the wait because it gave me extra time to look at the beautiful pastries that were in the display case. My group ordered the guava pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs and ham, and the eggs Benedict. I was impressed with all of the dishes, especially the pancakes and the French toast. The guava tasted very fresh and was not too sweet. The brûlée on the French toast was perfect and the custard was very good. The ham that was provided with the scrambled eggs was really tasty and definitely elevated the dish from your standard scrambled eggs. I'll be back here for sure, because the food and ambience is perfect for a Sunday brunch. The most impressive thing was seeing the chef come out several times and even walking out some dishes out to tables. His eyes were scanning all the food going out, and every dish looks exactly like it does online. You can tell the kitchen is well run because the presentation and cook times on eggs were perfect. Everything was delicious. We had the crab Benedict and the turkey club, starting with the arepa bites and 2 cappuccinos. Loved everything. The crab definitely needed more crab (I would even prefer it be an actual crab cake), but the flavors were so good. Now... I did go on a very busy day. The wait times between ordering, getting drinks, getting food, getting boxes, getting bill.... That all took a while. I knew what we were getting into when I saw the crowd. The waiter was hustling the whole time, so it was more just about the volume than the speed. My one negative experience was with the bakery to go section. I waited until there was no one waiting in line (just one person at the cashier) to get some to go goodies. I saw how beautiful alll the bakery items were and was really wanting to try them. The cashier took quite a while with the one customer, and during that time more people walked up to the bakery glass, where no one was working. The cashier could see me standing there the whole time, but when she finished with the guest she made no eye contact with me and walked to the people who had started standing at the glass. Wtf? I'm surprised I did not write a review based on last year's experience, but based on this year's experience, I ordered pollo saltado and it was average. The chicken breast pieces were over cooked, the flavor of the saltado was just ok. We also ordered the crab benedict and my Mom enjoyed it thoroughly. I made the mistake of not getting a benedict as it would have been better. We shared salmon benedict last year along with some of their pastries but this year we refrained (reluctantly) from their array of delicious pastries due to sugar. We asked if they had any low sugar pastries but they do not. Our waitress was great. We sat outside as we sat inside last year. This is a special place that's a nice alternative to the busy Miracle Mile area. They have terrific indoor seating and very nice outdoor seating options, without all the foot traffic. The pastries are showstoppers. Take a look at the pictures I included. However, it doesn't stop there. They have an extensive menu to satisfy every craving--from Guava Pancakes to incredible pasta dishes. We've been to the Doral location before but decided to go to coral gables to be closer to our friends. Parking is super easy to find close to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is spacious and you can choose outdoor seating or inside. It's suitable for families with children and they had high chairs available. We started with the chilaquiles and arepa fritters and they were really good. For breakfast our girls shared the French toast, and it was light and delicious. It brought fresh fruit and a marscapone cream which should be brought with every French toast ever. I had the avocado toast with two soft boiled eggs. The avocado was fresh and not mashed into a guac which I personally loved. The soft boiled egg was perfection and the yolk was still liquid. My husband ate the Bachour sandwich and I didn't hear a peep out of him for a good 15 mins. The coffee and pasteurized are divine and I truly recommend grabbing some to go if you're too full to eat them at the restaurant. The pistachio croissant was really nice with a very earthy and nutty taste. Nutella is always good. The chocolate croissant was perfectly baked and we let the serve pick a mystery item and he gave us a Parisian Flan pastry... it was the best one of the bunch. read more
