I've been to smack shack for food and for late night fun. At the recommendation of my server I…read moreordered the chicken sandwich. While it's not the best one ever it is pretty good and better than others. If going for drinks at night a few things to note: there is usually a line to get in, the place will be absolutely packed inside, and they don't sell THC drinks (or are sold out every time I go). There is street metered parking available. Depending on when you go it could be hard to find. Luckily the North Loop makes for a good neighborhood walk.

The place was very busy and had a good energy about it. I had the Jambalaya, which had chicken, sausage, and shrimp. It was pretty good and had a nice spicy kick. A good portion as well. Girlfriend had the shrimp etouffee with grits. It was nicely blackened and on a big bed of grits. Also spicy. Friend had the original lobster roll. He was surprised it came on Texas toast and not a roll. But he really enjoyed it. The dessert was a sinlme but delicious Cookit with ice cream. I recommend for restaurant week. And if you like seafood in the form of things like the lobster roll or shrimp etouffee that you don't get other places. I thought the jambalaya was fine but unremarkable. Not pictured here was the lobster mac and cheese. Which was only a small appetizer and I thought underwhelming (also, I don't like corn).

Everything was excellent, although I think I could skip the lobster roll next time. My boyfriend ordered the pork belly as a starter and the hot plate for his entrée. We both loved the pork belly, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it! He also had so much fun cooking his meal on the hot plate, which made for a unique dining experience. The service was unbelievable! Our waiter was incredibly attentive, helpful with any questions we had, and really made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. The restaurant was decorated for Halloween, which was such a fun touch, but it still maintained an upscale, high-end atmosphere. Overall, we had a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to going back!

Service is friendly and well-paced, despite it being packed when I was there. Booths are spacious, comfortable, and make up most of the seating. -- The calamari was SO light and crispy, and had a slight heat to it. It might be the best calamari I've had in the cities. -- The sangria wasn't too sweet and easily chuggable. The ice pop is a fun touch. The espresso martini was incredible and had a good balance between sweet and bitter. -- The crabcakes were flavorful and the lobster mac and cheese was saucy and had large chunks of lobster. -- The japanese milkbread was warm, fluffy, and buttery. It comes with three pieces. I wish the whipped butter was topped with more salt. -- The steak in the steak frites was tender and pre-sliced. The fries are thicker and are on the softer side. -- The carrot cake was so delicious and you could really taste the ginger and spices. The key lime pie was delicious too and not too tart.

Place was lovely! Seated immediately. Served a drink immediately. Water came quickly. Ordered edamame while I waited for my dining partner. Wow- they were delicious! Then ordered the pistachio crusted walleye BLT with extra lettuce. That was a serious sandwich. Very good but pistachio didn't come out. Everyone attentive and I loved the communication. They had a large party coming in and I had been "camping" while waiting for my dining partner. We agreed to be done before they needed to set up versus changing tables. All good!

Both were wonderfully flavorful! My mom tried the grilled salmon with rice and asparagus, which I frankly didn't bother to try because I knew it wouldn't compare to the other two plates. The Brussels sprouts as an appetizer was decent, but had too much balsamic glaze, my table agreed. Our server was a bit hard to talk to, but still attentive and helpful. The patio was incredible, though. Especially as it got darker out, the string lights made a very enchanting vibe- minus all the bugs biting your ankles. I would plan to return, but be prepared for a heftier bill!

The service made an already great dinner even better. Everything we ordered was delicious. The cacio e pepe ravioli was rich and perfectly done, the ribeye was cooked beautifully and the potato churros and chimichurri that came with it were incredible. The pork chop was another standout, and the grilled watermelon salad was such a unique combination of flavors and a perfect way to start the meal. Honestly, there wasn't a single thing we ordered that we wouldn't get again. Great atmosphere, great service, and seriously amazing food. Martina is absolutely worth a visit if you're in Minneapolis. We'll definitely be back!

We had the highly recommended potato churros which my husband loved - he loves all potatoes. I found it a bit too greasy so early in the day but that's just me. Daughter had the steak & eggs and enjoyed it with the chimichurri. The carbonara was rich, as expected and the crunchy buts of guanciale added great texture. The Brussels sprouts salad was literally a mountain of salad and was a good break from the rich pasta. The Argentine chorizo was a hit as well with a whole link coiled in between the bread. They gave us a free birthday coconut gelato which has these amazing crunchy cocoa bits. Service was impeccable as expected!
