I have gone to several of their pop-ups at the Eden Prairie City Center Garden Room this fall/winter. I enjoyed everything give ordered and so have my occasional guests. This is primarily catering business that occasionally opens for a limited time for retail dining. Sadly they won't be renewing their lease on the Garden Room kitchen and dining space will at the end of Dec 2024. But they have teased a new location somewhere off Valley View Road in Eden Prairie in 2025. I highly recommend them for catering. southern comfort food. Even the half size catering orders that supposedly feed 8-10 people are more than adequate in quantity. For instance, my last catering order contained a half order of Garlic Mashed Potatoes and I still have some left after feeding 10 adults and 3 kids. read more

My husband and I were really looking forward to trying this place after reading reviews. The people that run the business are very friendly and helpful, and that's why it pains me to write this review. I usually don't complain much about food, but maybe they will see this and make some improvements. I ordered the lobster roll which was very good! My husband ordered the crawfish boil...( now here is the complaint)...the crawfish were hollow...meaning no meat inside of them, and they smelled fishy and tasted old. I ordered collard greens to go. I love collard greens, but these were so terribly salty. I took a pan of it to a party of 10 people, and everyone said the same thing. We are just disappointed because we wanted this business to be good. So I give it 2 stars for their kindness and effort. read more

Just moved to Eden Prairie and found this site on Yelp. The wife and I ordered a handful of the apps to try which were all very good. I especially enjoyed the fried ravioli. The Philly Steak is exceptional. The ratio of meat to cheese to roll is perfect. The roll is nice and soft which is a must with a Philly Steak for me. The flavor is outstanding! The sandwich is HUGE!! My wife and I can split one for lunch. The owners that run the place are both nice as can be and helpful with the menu if you call. The menu is fantastic. The service is friendly. But beware, the portions are absurdly huge and wait times can me long. Strongly recommend ordering ahead for pickup. I didn't know this, and waited 45 minutes today for a sandwich the size of my forearm. It tasted great but it was so searingly hot, large and messy that there was no way to pick it up and eat it. Could have used a knife and fork or an extra napkin, if they had been available. Given the size, mess, and the fact that my lunch hour was over, I unfortunately had to throw away 80% of my meal. Personally won't go back, but if you like huge portions and can order ahead, give it a try. read more

Currently visiting Minneapolis and looking for lunch. We found this little spot located inside Eden City Center. My first thought was, "Yelp didn't tell me it near a police station," but already being here we decided to give it a try. At first, I wanted to try the fried ravioli but my mom reminded me that with the additional food I wanted, I wouldn't eat it all so instead I chose to just go with the tenders baskets w/ fries, and I'm glad I chose to stick with the tenders. With several different flavors to choose from, I went with the SWEET & SPICY ASAIN, they also flavor your fries!! And with that I wanted to try something different, so I chose DILL PICKLE. OMG y'all! When I say mouth watering I mean MOUTH WATERING! Everything was so delicious, and the owners (BLACK-OWNED BUSINESS) are just the nicest I've ever met. Their ranch is probably the best ranch I've ever had. When I asked Daddy Davis about it he said, they make it with their house seasoning. The also sell their house seasoning for $7.25 and I bought a bottle to take back home. read more

Picked up the Easter dinner special dinner today, Advertised as feeding 8-10, however my family of 5 will get 3 meals with seconds. We loved everything, the brisket and glazed ham was amazing, the Mac & cheese was over the top, the dirty rice was a game changer, the fire cracker green beans- let's just say my youngest daughter said Mine to the entire pan, and those honey butter biscuits finger licking! Customer service is all smiles and always happy to accomodate our dietery restrictions. My dinner faves are the hassle back chicken, grilled shrimp, lime-cilatro-cojita cheese corn on the cob, and herb-buttered baked potatoes, and those honey-butter biscuits!!! Just the best! The breakfast sammies were scrambeld eggs on croissant with cheese, grilled veggie blend, and a spicy mayonaise sauce from heaven. Never having been here we did not know what to expect aside from the reviews. Boy were we ready for this place. First off the staff was friendlier than any of my relatives. Made you smile constantly. Had looked at the menu on the website so I knew I wanted the Fish Po boy. When it cam out I was not sure I could finish it. It was humongous. Ordered fries too and there were enough to feed 3 people. The seasoning on both the sandwich and fries were to die for. I managed to eat 4/5 of it. I went home and instead of walking my dog, fell asleep. Christene and Wardell are the best! Cheerful service, spectacular food, amazing value, and portions like your mamma used to give you! I always look forward to heading over to the Garden Room for a dose of joyful banter and mouth-watering specials you simply don't find anywhere else in the area. Smokin Hottdish is off the beaten path - you have to go looking for it - but don't pass this place by simply because it's not a store-front.
