This company unfortunately seems hit or miss. After having a good experience with them last year,…read morewe re-hired them to move again this year. The arrival window was 1-4pm. At 4pm, they hadn't arrived and we hadn't heard anything so my husband called the office only to be told that the office could not get ahold of the crew. After about 30 minutes, they called back saying the moving crew was having an issue with their truck. While it's understandable that things happen and are out of their control, it was the lack of notice that really bothered us. Once they determined something was going on with that crew they promised that a new crew could come at 7pm, saying "they will 100% be there." 5:30pm rolled around and we got a call that the move was cancelled because the crew did not want to work that late and our only other option was the next day at 1pm but we had to be out of the apartment in the morning. Because it was already 5:30pm, it was nearly impossible to find any help and we ended up having to recruit some very nice friends to help. Had we known right away that there was an issue, we could have started moving ourselves earlier or tried to find back up. So again, while mistakes and things happen it was the lack of communication that really spoke to how they run a business and why I would not recommend taking the gamble booking with this company again.

From Rodrigo's quick email (in response to my "mover inquiry" on Yelp, which resulted in a dozen different companies soliciting my move), to his follow up call after all was complete, everything was as best as I could hope for. His initial email was followed by a ZOOM meeting including Rodrigo's visual review of the furniture and anticipated number of boxes. With that information, I was given an estimate that seemed reasonable. The ZOOM with Rodrigo was genuine, professional and put me at ease. It was relaxed, detailed and without an ounce of pressure. I was almost certain that I would use Appelzon as I was comfortable with the price. But, I did my due dilligence anyway and followed up with a few other movers. I got some very shady responses. The kind that you can smell from a mile away. There was one local, legit comany that came to the house, but quoted me a price that was much higher. So, I followed my first instinct and committed to Appelzon. All paperwork, proof of licenses, and communication to set date and time for the move were provided quickly, regularly and timely. Now regarding the move itself... a team of hard working, professional movers arrived to carefully pick up and load a truckfull. Rodrigo was the one driving the truck. I believe in supporting independent, local businesses and Appelzon is exactly that. The owner personally driving and supervising, that's impressive. Everything regarding the move was what I consider perfect. This was an interstate move with many variables, traffic, an overnight needed between pickup and delivery, etc. Delivery was just as professioanlly handled. It was timely, with constant communication during all aspects of the move. The entire process was seamless. I cannot recommend this company any higher. I already have, as I have given the info to a friend who is also moving. And I don't recommend businesses to friends unless I'm certain it is a sure thing.
