I was ready to book with Monroe Moving Pro. The price was competitive, the reviews were encouraging, and they fit my needs. The ONLY reason I did not book with this company was SOLELY due to my interactions with the account manager, ADAM. OMG Adam is argumentative, disrespectful, condescending, and impatient. He cuts me off mid-sentence and assumes what I am going to say then begins to ramble off the tangent he just created for himself. I wanted to give him another chance so I had my husband get on the phone with him. I figured maybe he has issues speaking with women. My goodness, there was no difference when speaking with my husband. Within 30 seconds of answering the call, he was argumentative and irritated. Monroe, you have a good thing going. However, if Adam does not change his approach, this company will be run to the ground. He is the face of the company. If he cannot listen on a simple phone call, how can I trust him with my life's possessions? There are so many other movers out there who are also kind and patient. Good riddance. read more

Just finished my move from Carteret to Morganville today with Monroe Moving. These guys are quite literally the only moving company I will ever use or recommend to anyone for the remainder of my years. They were beyond diligent from a to z and as somebody who's has to move around quite a bit (6 times in 11 years), I've had only mediocre if not outright atrocious experiences with moving companies. I'm glad that I now know of Monroe Moving Pro who I was recommended to by a buddy who had the same experience as I did and can only sing their praises. Monroe themselves weren't horrible but be warned they outsource long distance moves and the people they do business with are HORRIBLE!! -They were hours late, my partner moved 28 boxes on his own. - For the final move they were hours late again without any communication. They were ignoring our calls and when we finally got a hold of them we were told that they were not making it day day. We 1) had taken off of work for the move, and 2) were left stranded without a place as we had already given up our sublet. Thankfully Monroe did help us pay for a portion of a hotel for the night. - They were careless and negligent with our items dropping multiple boxes and breaking belongings. They want to pay a ridiculously low price that's not even a fraction of price of one item and demanding things such as no reviews. No apologies from either companies or attempts to reimburse us for damaged items from Monroe. Also a heads up, Monroe locks you in at a decent rate and then tells you about additional fees once you are locked into a contract. read more

we recently had a very complicated move involving two properties and various dates and items to be distributed to each. The people we worked with at Monroe Moving Pro were each of them excellent, competent and patient. I'd like to especially acknowledge Adam who coordinated each move and followed up with email confirmations when changes were necessary and the foreman, Luis, who packed up our merchandise for a long distance haul. I also want to acknowledge the two young men who unpacked our things with great care after a long drive and did so with patience and determination to make sure I was pleased. The first call to this company spoke volumes to me. Adam who worked with me as I explained what was needed to achieve my goal. Adam was patient and professional and belayed any concern I may have had, since the furniture was only being placed in the garage. I have used many movers in my lifetime, but Monroe Moving Pro exceeds them all. The men, Thomas and Brian, arrived on time but what impressed me was their clean crisp professional look, which was also reflected in their work ethic. First impressions tells you everything about a company or a person. Thomas and Brian did not waste time lulling around; they assessed the job and went right to work, and completed the job quickly and in a timely manner. I called College Hunks and since they did not service the area I needed they referred me to this place. A very nice man called and left a very nice message that my quote was ready and to return his call. I didn't get a chance that day and the next day I got the very same message. I was able to return the call. The person was NASTY AND RUDE. Saying there was no quote because he has no idea what I even want done. When I told him I needed one piece of gym equipment moved he stated to ramble that I need to tell him the weight and if I wanted 2 of 3 guys and that there is a 5 hour minimum. I kindly asked if I had to determine if I needed 2 or 3 people and he basically said...listen you didn't call us, you called (name of company) so I don't know what you are looking for or what you need done. Thank God I have a witness to this man's RUDE attitude. If you don't like your job, Adam, go work somewhere else. You are a poor face of the company. read more

I am writing this negative review because this company is a rip off. I was charged over $1200 for a move within the same state!!!! Not even 30 minutes from my previous home. I was given an estimate of one price and ended up paying way over that amount which was not called for at all. The owner never contacted me to discuss my displeasure, but chose to charge me an additional $48 dollars for going over the 2 hours when it was the fault of his moving men that the elevator broke while they were using it. Also, they unpacked my things and left the huge empty boxes strewed about my apartment. They were sure to hurry and charge my credit card though even before they starting moving my things. That is not how you run a business. I asked the young man why was I being charged for a service that had not happened yet and he said that is their policy. I then asked, what if something goes wrong? I have never heard of this happening before with a moving company. Then the one mover asked me about a tip. I understand it is a hard job and I was definitely going to tip, but why even mention that to the customer? I will absolutely never use or recommend this company to anyone. read more

I hired Monroe Moving Pro during a stressful time in my life. Zoly seemed very understanding and helped me schedule the move. The day before the move I called him in a panic because I needed help to actually pack things as well as move them to their storage facility. Zoly assured me that the movers will come full prepared. I was given a window between 2-5pm for my move. The next day I waited for hours for the movers. They finally showed up at 5:30pm. I began to help them pack up my things knowing that we were short on time since they showed up so late. About a hour into my move, one of the guys, named Ben, who was on the phone with his "boss" tells me they're going to have to charge me for an extra man to pack because they weren't going to make it to the storage facility on time if they don't. I told Ben that they showed up late and I didn't understand how that was my problem. Nevertheless I needed it done, so I agreed even though I thought it was ridiculous. Be aware that Ben hardly packed or moved anything. He took inventory. So although I paid for an extra man, I didn't receive the service. The move was completed at about 9:30pm and I was charged DOUBLE of what I was quoted. Once again, I paid them and wiped my hands clean of it. I made them aware I'd be storing my items at their facility for a month and that my move in date to my new home was on 9/1. Zoly and I agreed for a MORNING move. They charged my deposit the day we confirmed. When Zoly emailed me my confirmation I noticed he had me booked for a move between 2-5pm. I emailed him immediately, asking him to update the confirmation since we agreed on a morning move. I thought this was just a clerical error. Four days before my move, I receive an email from Zoly stating that they can't do the morning and they have other moves with "elevator restrictions" that must go in the morning. He also advised that I changed my moving date to 9/2. I called the company and no one picked up so I emailed Zoly. About 30 min later I get a call from Glen. I explained the situation and Glen told me he'd call me back in a few minutes. When Glen called me back his exact words were "the best we can do is 2-4pm". I asked Glen why I was expected to change my move reservations and that I was a paying customer like everyone else. Glen then responded, once again, "that's the best we can do". I told Glen that I would be seeking another company and that if I found someone to move my items from their storage on 9/1 I would be taking my business elsewhere. He responded with "let me know either way". This company, on multiple instances, has shown me their lack of care and professionalism. Never have I experienced customer service like this, or a lack thereof. I am hoping to find another company on such short notice to complete my move so I don't give these guys another dollar. Very disappointed. They made a stressful time in my life even more difficult with their lack of attention and their lack of professionalism. I wouldn't recommend them at all. read more

I used Monroe Moving pro a while back. They will be the lowest quote you will find, but keep in mind this is strategy on their part to get in the door. After it's all said and done, add $2-300 more than the quote. Many upcharges, such as how much tape is used, to them charging you to put a tv in a box and then taking back the box. One of my tv stands had 3 pieces of glass. I wrapped them myself prior, but they won't take it unless they wrap themselves as it's a risk. So they charged me $60 extra to just put it in a box, and then took back the box. Same with TVs, they want to wrap themselves so they can keep the upcharges going. The movers themselves did a good job of moving my stuff, just be careful knowing they will try to charge for anything and everything during the move , and the actual price will always be more than the quote they give. read more
