Pros: friendly staff, eggs cooked as ordered, tasty green chile and chorizo, large portion, quick service. Cons: corn cakes were really pancakes with a little corn flour in them, not what we thought a corn cake would be from all others we've had. Huevos rancheros was good but the tortilla was just folded into the plate, not much thought there. Needs to be toasted or something. read more

Checked in on Yelp so wait time for a Saturday was very reasonable! Our waitress did her best but was stretched thin. Ordered the spinach omelet and margarita flight. Spinach omelet had eggshells. I thought it would just be in the first bite which I would understand can happen but it was a bunch of little pieces in different parts of the omelet. Sent it back & just asked for it to be removed from our tab which our waitress quickly took care of. Margarita flights were pure syrup - but looked cute. Would not recommend it. Portions are huge. From what I can see into the kitchen & if you look at the edges of the ice cream freezer- this diner needs a deep cleaning. read more

Honestly if I could give this place 10 stars I would. Spending the night in Denver because I didn't feel like driving route 70 in the middle of a snowstorm on the day of my flight and we landed here. I had the turkey reuben and it was off the charts. The turkey is smoked in house. IN HOUSE! This is a freakin diner and they smoke their own meats here? Are you serious?! I didn't think I'd write a review about this diner. We had just dropped a friend off at the airport and wanted a diner experience with pancakes and this place was close and looked well-reviewed. What surprised me was the Southwest Cakes: "Cornbread-style pancake with diced green chiles, topped with pork green chile & sausage white gravy...." Topped with pork green chile and sausage white gravy?! The balance of the mild spice and of the savory gravy was really good and made for a very filling meal. I recommend if you're a sausage gravy fan! We ate outside on the patio. Service was good -- keeping our water and coffee filled. The rest of the food was filling and as one would expect at a diner for breakfast. The pancakes we ordered seemed a little flat / not as fluffy as we would have liked, but we would order again, thinking it was just an off batch. read more

In Denver for a few days and was looking for a diner. Moonlight Diner is a legit spot near the Denver Airport that has great food close to hotels. We visited on a early Saturday morning before the rush and was able to be seated outside as we brought out pet with us. Moonlight is a pet friendly restaurant that does provide water for those 4-legged friends. Our server was quick to get our drink order while we reviewed the incredibly diverse menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. They do serve breakfast all day for those who enjoy breakfast for dinner. Food was served quickly and perfectly seasoned. I'm not familiar too much with avocado toast but was ok from our friend who ordered. Other items we ordered were very delicious which made the experience even better. Moonlight does accommodate large groups but be warned parties will not be seated until everyone is ready. Moonlight is very popular and parking can be a challenge during the breakfast rush. Moonlight provided a great time and will be back. Give them a try! read more

This review is only based on my dinner experience. Service: 5 stars. The restaurant was really busy and our waitress was really good. She was triple seated and had no issue with any of the tables. Ambience: what a diner would look like. Food: 3 stars we ordered nachos minus the refried beans and the green chili and as you can see in the photo the shredded cheese isn't even melted. I'm assuming if we would had the green chili and refried beans the cheese might have melted more than it did. The mushroom Swiss burger was just okay and zucchini sticks were very greasy. Stopped by here for dinner after flying into DIAand was pleasantly surprised at the menu selection and food we ordered. Very large menu selection, reasonable prices, and portion sizes are huge (we should have split a plate and add a side if needed). The chicken fried chicken with 2 sides (salad and mashed potatoes) and meat loaf sandwich with clam chowder were all very good. Moonlight Diner & Bar is one of my favorite places to eat! It's a hidden gem with a great view of the mountains. Moonlight has been there for 25 years, it's retro design is a throw back to the 1950s. This funky boxcar looks like my grandparents kitchen did, back in the day, complete with turquoise colored chairs & booths on a checkered floor. Very cute, with lots of memorabilia on the walls. There is even an outdoor patio. Moonlight is minutes to DIA, with free parking in the back as well as on the side street. TIP...this place is almost always busy, so I recommend joining their waitlist. On the Saturday morning we went we did just that & our wait time was five minutes instead of a half hour. Moonlight has your classic diner fare, including some entrees & BBQ choices. They serve breakfast all day. And in case you missed it above, Moonlight has a full bar. They have fun drinks like Mimosa & Bloody Mary Flights plus Adult Milkshakes! Our party of three decided on Biscuits, Sausage & Gravy with Hash Browns, the Big Breakfast Burrito and a Side House Salad with Steak added on. The service was fast & friendly. The biscuit & burrito breakfasts were delicious! My husband said the sausage gravy was thick & creamy. Our friend said the pork green chile sauce on the burrito was very good, not too spicy. They are served on platters instead of plates...the portion sizes are big. The best kept secret was my meal. I had the side salad & steak - wow was I surprised how much food I had. I compare all national diners to NJ standards. This 25 year old gem, built in the middle of nowhere at one time, is a good stop if you're staying at any of the airport hotels. The surrounding area of this old stainless steel diner is new condos, townhouses and chain restaurants, fast food and gas. The food is pretty good, fast with friendly service. The menu was diverse and all food was priced right if all was as tasty as our Huervos Rancheros and Chicken Noodle Soup and Grilled Cheese. read more

Only a 20 minute wait on a busy Saturday morning. The service was great, our waitress never left us waiting for anything. I always get the Denver Omelette when eating here, it's loaded and cooked perfectly. My wife didn't like the eggs or her French toast. Truthfully the French Toast wasn't well dipped in egg since have t agree. All in all this place has great old school ambiance and generally has good food. Great place for breakfast any time of day. They have an extensive menu of traditional fare and entrees with a local flair. I had the traditional breakfast with a side of biscuits and gravy. The gravy was creamy and the biscuits were dense and flaky. The hashbrowns were perfect: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Bacon was a little chewy after asking for it to be crunchy, but I think that may have been due more to the brand. Pancakes were thick and fluffy, with a hint of sweetness. They have some specialty cocktails, and some good strong coffee. All is in the setting of a dinner style arrangement, with chrome styling outside and a counter for dining. Good service even when pretty busy on a Saturday morning. Kids will love it for the charm and pancakes, adults will love it for the spicy entrees and cocktails. read more

The burgers are HUGE ! Try the onion rings they really deliver . Also go for a chocolate shake . It's actually worth the calories. Prices are reasonable. Well I have eaten here many times and the food and service has been exemplary. Yesterday we ordered two orders of their BLT for carry out . Was also disappointed. The sandwiches were so dry, barely toasted and only one slice of tomato on each side .. should have been 2. Barely any mayo. I was heading to Denver airport this morning and had time for breakfast along the way. We took Colfax to Tower Road because the morning snow had backed up all the major highways. My buddy had seen this restaurant before and wanted to give it a try. He was worried about a line out the front door like he'd seen on a Saturday morning, but when we got there it was 9:30 AM on a Thursday so we walked right in. There were plenty of seats at booths, tables and at the counter. The uncrowded restaurant certainly wasn't because of the food or service. It must have been the snow that discouraged diners. Lucky us! It took a little bit to figure out what I wanted because the menu had a variety of great choices. I settled on the banana walnut bread French Toast. Good choice! Our servers name was... Yadi..? She was very good. Attentive, quick and friendly. All in all if you are within 10 minutes south of the airport on Tower and have time for breakfast, I highly recommend stopping here to fill your stomach before your plane ride. read more
