I've been coming here for a couple of years. Mostly take-out, but sometimes I'll dine in. They have one of the best menus for Chinese food around, especially on this side of the metroplex. The portions are huge and I usually have enough for two meals. The food is always fresh and everything is cooked to order, which I love. I don't really like cooked carrots and snow peas, so have them to leave them off. The even do about six or seven different sushi rolls. This is not a sushi restaurant, so don't expect over the top sushi, but what you get is very good. The service has always been excellent, even when they are very busy, if I call in an order, it's ready when they said it would be. The only reason it's not a five star for me...no Egg Foo Yong on the menu, but they have just about everything else and I love Egg Foo Yong. It's worth the stop, either dine in or take-out. This location used to be a Boston Market and, I have to say, this is quite an improvement! I've eaten here twice in the past week, and have sampled the followingt: lo mein, egg rolls, crab rangoon, hot sour soup, chicken (both lemon and orange), and mandarin beef. The meats they use are of very good quality, and the vegetables are fresh. I also really like that they have lunch specials available 7 days a week, and not just weekdays. They also seem to have Japanese Bento boxes and sushi rolls available, but have not yet tried those. If they can do a quality beef and chicken teriyaki, this will likely hit the weekly lunch rotation for me. read more

This was my absolute worst experience in a Chinese restaurant. A lady behind me stormed out yelling "that was disgusting!" The other lady that was with her stormed out and said the same thing. She also added "you have roaches in your food. You shouldn't have roaches in here." I immediately lost my appetite. Then my food came. I got the seafood and noodle soup. The smell was off. Didn't even smell like food. Smelled like a chemical. I ate one shrimp which was extra soft, over cooked and soggy. I couldn't take it anymore. My son said his egg foo young tasted funny. I wanted to like this place because I need a good and local go to spot. First time I tried the chicken and shrimp with mushrooms. It was bland and full of bell peppers. They go overboard with the peppers. I decided to try them again and order one of my favorite dishes, Kung Pao Chicken. Bland, no flavor and once again full of bell peppers. My friend recommended this to another friend and I. They tried it the other night and theirs looked really good which led me to trying it last night. I was a little skeptical just because I'm a vegetarian and I tend to go for more Thai food since they always have tofu options. I went ahead and got their vegetable lo mien and 2 orders of their spring rolls. Worth it! The taste, the textures, all the flavors, super good! For $14, I got my money's worth! They fill up the box so much it could soak the brown bag and rip through it. (Happened to me!) the spring rolls are HUGE, and yummy! They send extra soy and duck sauces without you having to ask. I remember when they were building Moon Wok, we would drive by and argue about whether it was going to be a restaurant and some sort of Asian design store! We were pleasantly surprised that it blossomed into a wonderful little restaurant with quick service, HUGE portions, fresh food and friendly, helpful staff. I still go there regularly and have enjoyed the numerous things I have tried off of the menu; some of my favorites being the crab rangoons and lemon chicken. The only problems I've ever had were some very under-ripe avocados put into some sushi rolls I ordered. Definitely a great place to stop and grab a bit to eat if you're in the area and hankerin' for some Chinese food. read more

Good food. Sub par service. They literally cannot be bothered when you call (delivery is seriously a joke) ... They speak too quickly in other to get you off phone only to get your order wrong on an 45 minute to a hour wait. Unacceptable. When calling back to fix my order I was reassured a swift turn around. Yeah right, I damn near ate my ARM off in hunger waiting for my food. Unless you're picking up forget ordering from this place. I had delivery and ordered entree with egg roll and wonton soup. Both parties threw away the wonton soup. The wonton filled meat with chicken the lady states was very hard, rubbery and too thick with many layers too hard to eat. I called and got credit but I won't order that soup again. The worst wonton soup I have ever eaten! I am scared to eat the rest of this food. I don't think I will order from them again. Pretty good place. The dinner portion sizes are insane!! There is honestly enough beef for 3 people in the orange beef dinner plate. A little heavy on the sauce though... By the time I got home, it had seeped out of the container, into the bag... And that's with it being kept upright the whole time. When you are in Cedar Hill and craving chinese the only place you need to go to Moonwok. It may not be the best Chinese food in DFW but for the price and customer service it doesn't get any better. They have the best crab ragoon that I've found and the order comes with alot. Their curry and sesame chicken are both very very good, as well as their spring rolls. The owners are always incredibly nice and one of them talks with a very think Asian accent which makes the experience so much better. my family loves this place and we will always keep going back. read more

I would have given moon wok higher stars after having them deliver for the first time. My only issue was I ordered beef broccoli with fried rice and there were several pieces of orange peels. I'm not sure what's with that but I don't eat orange peels in any dish. Therefore I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this place. I moved here last month and I wanted to try some Chinese food. Moon wok was the first restaurant I wanted to try when I got here. First off, let me tell you that the two girls working there were rude. When they saw my friend and I walking to the door, they immediately turned off the sign and said the lights were messed up when clearly they were playing around with us. I wanted to leave but I was hungry so I stayed to get food. The food was ok. They gave us a huge portion, so I was satisfied with that. Customer service on the other hand was horrible and I hope they find new workers to work at the front otherwise I'm never going back again. read more

Strike 3, and you're out. Moon Wok used to be my joint, but for the past year or so the service has been awful and the food very hit or miss. I have to say though that tonight takes the case and I'm done. I ordered my food at 7:51 pm and was told that the delivery would take 30-45 minutes. I should have had a clue that something would go wrong when the guy kept talking about my parents usually coming to pick up the food, but I brushed it off. Fast forward to 9 pm and I call to find out what happened to my order and a lady answered (I won't post her name) and basically blamed me for not answering the door. Yeah, that makes sense. I did not answer the door for food that I already paid for. I explained to her that I have my house phone, cellphone, and caller ID that pops up on my tv, not to mention the fact that no one knocked and she basically tells me that I am wrong and will have to just explain myself to the delivery driver. EXCUSE ME? I have to explain myself? She obviously has life and BS mixed up. I asked if/when I could expect my food and she stated that it would be about another hour. So yes, we are now at TWO HOURS for delivery. Did she offer an apology? No. Did she offer to comp my food the next time I visited? No. Did she offer any solution after I asked for a refund? Nope, she just said, "well, it'll take 3-4 days." I was so livid at the point that I asked for her manager and she stated that they did not have one on duty. How convenient. I ask for her name and her supervisor's name and she asks me to hurry up and take down the information and then tells me that I can call and try to catch him. She did not give times or anything like any other well trained person in customer service would offer. So here's the deal, you no longer get any of my money. Just delivery my food and I will never bother to order from you again. I could have taken everything with a grain of salt if I would have just gotten an apology, but I see now that this is just their new M.O. UPDATE: To make matters worse, my food was not hot. HORRIBLE customer service and bad atmosphere. My daughter slipped and fell in their restroom bc there was puddles of water everywhere. As we walked out of the restroom my daughter was still crying from falling and I told them that they should put up wet floor signs. They just looked at me like I was crazy and didn't do anything. Went here today with my family. We are a Christian family that came for a family evening out and spent nearly $50 worth food. The owner I believe is prejudice(I am African American). 3 cops came in and he took over the register one of his female employees were operating to personally take their order. Then about 10 minutes later a non black family came in. He even brought their food out to them to the table, and went out the way to make small chat with them & their kids. He passed by our table numerous times. Did not even speak to us one time but was very attentive to the other customers.
