This place is HUGE and has amazing deals on everything right now!! This is the time to plant, this is the place to get your plants, and Andrew is the guy you wanna talk to. Seriously. My husband and I were there this morning to grab a few things for our house, and we couldn't have had a better experience. We live right down the street and will definitely be back. Five stars for the help we received and the knowledge of our sales guy. Answered every question we had and wasn't a "pesky sales guy" Thats seriously hard to find. Love this place. I have no idea why people would post negative comments about this location. I guess some people are just hard to please all over. Thanks Moon Valley! read more

This time I'm going with 3 stars. Now that my Palm Trees, Rosemary bushes & some kind of flowering plant, can't remember because it withered away shortly after planting. Mind you now we did have a very HOT summer but when you plant big $ stuff you expect quality! Now the rosemary bushes (3). All expired rapidly. Had warranty, replaced 3, one survived! The Palm had brown palms right after the almost year up on warranty, but was told new ones will regrow. Ok it looked beautiful for the first six months. My pride and joy with a solar spotlight softly lighting it up. Then again palms getting yellow/brown doesn't look full like when it was first planted, still disappointed. Just recently read some not so good reviews about Moon Valley, over priced, yes but we had a budget and I think the sales guy was pretty helpful. But their trees are pricey! Probably going to look around elsewhere to finish what dried up and replace hopefully with something that grows read more

Today the wife and I went down to the 7th St location. We worked with Joe who is very knowledgeable and got us the best solution for our yard! Next week we will have our Hollywood style hedge planted and we couldn't be happier! Thank you Moon Valley! I recommend this is the place to go for the best trees in the state! read more

We got two Mesquite trees from Moon Valley Nurseries and paid for a full service that included delivery planting and cleaning. I planned to have one of the trees in my back yard in the middle of the lawn and specifically discussed my concern with the salesman asking him to make sure they will remove any access soil and rocks from the digging because I wanted to keep the grass intact as much as possible. The guy said "of course" and said they always do it this way and that I have nothing to worry about. Comes the installation day and another guy showed up with the trees (one tree had one of his main branches broken... but never mind that.) and 4 workers. I showed him where I wanted the trees and reminded him about the clean job promised in the lawn area. Next thing I see is that they piled the entire digging on my grass with tons of stones and called it done... I almost flipped and immediately called the office and they told me, guess what... "Not to worry...". I overheard the installer talking to the office saying that he will not remove anything from my lawn and so he did. He left me with the pile and many stones scattered around my lawn where my kids play... It took us 2 days and a lot of sweat to clean the mess. Also, one of the trees fell 2 days after planting because it hadn't been secured correctly to the stabilizing poles. Update: Manager promised to compensate for the bad installation and fix it all. I hope this was an isolated event. read more

Gail in the nursery was amazing !! So helpful and knowledge! Go see her for all your plant and flower needs !!

Ok! Update! Unbelievable! Long story short, we had a new house built. No yard whatsoever....ugh! Our pool was in ( see my review for Caribbean Pools- they are awesome!) and then decided to give Moon Nurseries another try. They advertise whole yard landscaping. So- I called and made an appointment for the whole nine yards- so to speak. Mike Eaton came out and looked things over. He said he would design the yard and give us an estimate. Alright ! We were excited about getting everything finished so we could enjoy Arizona weather! We waited a week....no call! Ok. It's a big job. Waited some more. Then I called Mike. I emailed Mike. No response. I called the office. I emailed and called Mike. Nothing. Called and called and called. You get the picture? Glad I didn't give them a deposit. Go somewhere else. read more

Joe Rooks was the salesman and John Markel & crew delivered and planted my Queen Palm. I felt I got a pretty good deal on the tree from Joe and John & crew did a great job getting the large 30" box Queen Palm in my back yard going thru a few tight twisting areas without doing any damage. I went to 3 nurseries looking for a nice Queen Palm and MOONVALLEY had the best nicest looking tree selections. Thanks guys, you did a great job. Dan C On the Moon Juice, it does a much better job on plants than just using B 1 and Zinc, which is what I've used for years. Now I'm back to using the Moon Juice and Moon Dust. read more

Used their free design service and was very disappointed but what absolutely floored me was the $1400 estimate for tree and shrub removal considering there are no trees or palms. It included five 1 ft in diameter boxwood, three 3 ft sage, 4 lantana and two 7 x 5 ft pyracantha. I removed all but the pyracantha and my yard man did that for free. I requested the estimate as it seemed convenient. I also was being charged for a stump grinder that was completely unnecessary. I don't understand this estimate and frankly it's a bit of an insult. It's unfortunate. Outright Blatant Greed does not instill good will or confidence in a company. read more

I went here today to buy a certain Palm. First thing I got a man that wasn't too helpful . When I got that palm home I wasn't satisfied with it...So I went right back. I did not want the same guy. Well when I stopped by the office Dane was there to help me. I had talked with him before and he has always been freindly and helpful inthe past. So today when I told him I wasn't happy with my purchase and wanted to exchange it. Fine, I will take care of you! When we got to the row of Palms...I went for the same kind that I had bought, he went to the row with the higher priced one. I said I can't afford that and he said, I will take care of you. SO...he did! I am very happy about the service I got on my second trip here today. I will go back. I must say this was the first I had any problems. But I will certainly be going back now. Thanks Dane and Moon Valley Nursery. read more

Bought most of our large landscape plants from Moon Valley in Chandler. Cary was very helpful but definitely was interested in getting the sale completed. We had several pear and acacia trees planted, and are getting some very large ficus trees planted this coming week. Their botanist was very helpful in diagnosing bug and watering issues before the plant succumbed, just remember to contact them every few months and report on the plant health. That way they know you are monitoring the plantings and are taking steps to prevent future problems. The free planting is a big deal, since some plants are major projects just to get planted. read more

I have used Moon Valley for at least 45 years. They were always good to deal with but this time they were amazing. I went in to buy a 15 gallon desert shade tree for my Upcoming anniversary to put in our new house. Matt came out at 7th st to help me to help me figure it out. He helped me find a lot bigger one I bought it for a month later delivery . Sheldon called me a few days before my scheduled delivery which I really appreciated. He also called me the next day to make sure I was happy with my delivery and installation. Jed , my delivery supervisor called 2 times to let me know when they would show up . They were even early and very efficient even with the rocky soil I have. He made sure I understood how to water and take care of my new tree before they left . This is not the kind of service I expected from a Nursery but I really think it was very professional. Because of this I will highly recommend Moon Valley and their great team! read more

As first time homeowners we were devastated when our 20+ year old tree was taken down by the storm. We went into Moon Valley with the intention of getting 3 small trees and ended up with 3 large trees because of the 0 down 0% interest for 12 month financing. I was pretty nervous about them delivering the trees as we could not be home for the install. My mother was on call for delivery and called the nursery and then Lance to ensure a prompt delivery. He couldn't have been more patient with her and made sure he called her as promised 30 min before arrival. We were thrilled when we got home they were just where we wanted them. There was no mess, and the trees look great. Many thanks to Lance G. and his crew! read more

I was excited to purchase some new plants for my home. Spent over $600. Was not informed that someone from the city would be knocking on my door and calling me non stop at 6:30am. I was only informed that the nursery would be taking care of it. When I asked about it the nursery told me they had no control over when they come out. In addition, the crew that arrived to install the core plants did not follow directions and even told me that they don't like to measure. I provided feedback to Cameron who had emailed me about me experience. He responded by misspelling my name and basically saying they had no control over the city. I responded by saying he was missing the point and I thought they could do a better job informing their customers. He didn't respond and so I emailed back asking to speak to another manager. He then responded and offered me a bottle of Moon juice. I declined the offer. I won't go back. read more

Moon Valley did a great job. They were incredibly quick planting. Ryan was courteous and professional. We'd buy from them again.

Jeff helped us with a couple of Noble fir trees and was most patient with us, also tying them securely to the roof of vehicle for us. The inventory is good and the trees fresh. They are a little pricier even with the discounts but have good customer service and good trees to make your holidays bright! I purchased nearly $10G in plants, including nearly two dozen ficus columns (ficus nitida) and miscellaneous plants, nearly three months ago. First off, I have to say that the staff at both the North 7th Street and North Scottsdale locations seemed very knowledgeable and were all very pleasant, considerate, and helpful. They have a very broad selection of trees and plants. The delivery crew was also very courteous and came out a second time to move plants that were not planted in the marked locations the first time, and to replace a couple of plants that were DOA. They brought and applied generous amounts of mulch. Unfortunately, that's where my positive comments end. The biggest problem was the crew that delivered and planted the ficus trees. In addition to not properly spacing the plants and not planting some of them in their pre-marked designated locations on their first trip, they broke as many as one-third of the branches off most of the ficus trees leaving bare trunks, leaving some bare trunks as long as two or three feet. I'm not sure if the missing branches will ever grow back fully in the bare spaces - a huge disappointment for the aesthetic appearance of my landscape and far below my expectations. Secondly, while some of the plants that were delivered seemed very healthy and have begun healthy growth, several were not as healthy or as large as the others or what I had seen at the nursery. Those plants still do not appear to be very healthy and haven't grown significantly despite careful watering. Accordingly, I'm not sure that all of the plants will survive the hot summer (and beyond Moon Valley Nursery's initial warranty period); and I'm certainly not paying for an expensive two-year replacement warranty. Their only suggestion to date has been to apply some of their mysterious "moon juice" to help the plants grow. I say B.S. to that. Hopefully, good fertilizer, some selective pruning, and lots of tender loving care recommended by others will help restore the plants' appearances as they should be, and ultimately provide the screening that I had originally intended. That remains to be seen. If you plan on purchasing large trees or shrubbery from Moon Valley Nurseries, I'd recommend trying to select your own plants off the lot before they leave the nursery, trying to arrange a delivery time within a couple of weeks (their trucks were always busy and booked way out in advance), very closely supervising the work of the delivery and planting crew, and carefully inspecting all of the plants in their desired locations before they leave the property. read more

Moving from out of state meant we knew nothing about desert landscape. Moon Valley not only has beautiful, well priced plants and trees, but even more important a knowledgable staff. We drive to this location to work with Matt Wendt, Ryan Olson and Joseph Willis. We will never have to go anywhere else. Matt took amazing care of us with our plants and trees, and Joseph even wrote instructions for us to have the best small lawn in town. Thanks Ryan for having the BEST team in Arizona. read more

Moon Valley promises the world and then doesn't deliver. Their sales and customer service folks tell you wonderful things about their trees and their crews that do the planting. Their crew came out to plant 2 trees and the foreman did not listen to either me or the sales person that talked to him on the job. He borrowed equipment from me that he should have had on the truck (tarps), wanted to borrow a wheelbarrow and used a broom that I had leaning against the house without asking. There are many nurseries that are as high or higher rated than Moon Valley. I will use anybody other than Moon Valley from now on. read more

Horrible company. Discussed with salesman over the phone for 24 in box trees. We agreed on a price and he offered financing which I was approved for. His manager sent an invoice for me to sign and approve the order. The tree size was smaller and the price was higher. I sent and email for clarification, I was ordering the 24 in box. She sent a long drawn out message saying they put larger trees in smaller containers therefore the 15 gallon is really a 24. I emailed back I was very specific, I did not want the 15 gallon and I had specifically discussed the larger tree with the salesman. I also asked her to explain how putting larger trees in smaller containers prevented root binding, because everything I have read states the opposite is true (3/22). She never responded and 5 days later charged my credit card $1500 (3/27). I sent emails 3/27 to the manager, the salesmen and the other gentleman that requested a signature on the invoice after I told them I did not agree to the smaller trees, I did not sign the invoice and they had no right to charge my credit card. Still no response from anyone in the company and I had to file a fraud charge with the bank. They also fraudulently signed my name on the wells fargo credit card receipt 3/27 when they charged my card without permission and without my knowledge. Salesperson told me to come down and look at 4 beautiful full size pink oleander they had in stock. Went down and they were beautiful. I said the tag says they are red. Sales person said it was mistake and they are pink. Bought them and paid landscaper to plant. Bought 16 more based on how good they looked. When the 4 bloomed they were Red. The next 16 plants came in and were a disgrace,. No pride in offering me these terrible oversize under nourished plants. I canceled the 16 and told them to replace the 4 red with 4 lousy looking pink because they would only replace and not refund. They did replace the 4 red with 4 terrible pink oleanders. Despite the fact that it was the salespersons fault and that I had aready paid somebody to plant the reds, they would not reimburse or plant the new pink ones for me. Terrible Management. Terrible customer service. Terrible product! I will go somewhere else and you should too! read more

Moon Valley Nurseries has partially resolved the issue we had with them by reversing the initial mischarge of $779 for trimming our palo verde tree. The crew did trim the tree (it was a beautful job) on Monday, April 16th and charged us $350, which was what we paid for the job last year. We were promised that they would also treat the tree, to make up for the initial overcharge, but that hasn't happened yet. I really like this nursery, we've been loyal customers since we moved to Arizona 12 years ago, and I'm very sad about the problem we had. I hope it's just a temporary bump in the road. read more

I bought 4 trees from Moon Valley Nursery and was concerned about the root system of two of them. They assured me there would be no problem. After they were planted I called them again because of problems I was reading about on the Internet. Again they assured me no problem. These trees in question are Sisso trees. One is planted approx 9 feet from my house. I have a friend who just had 3 removed from her yard because of root problems. Another friend has a son who works for a tree removal company and they are removing several of these trees. I am so worried about mine I have nightmares. I feel this company would sell you a tree no matter what. I would have bought a different tree had I known the history of this particular tree. read more

Absolutely satisfied with Moon Valley (Peoria) who helped transform our horrendous yard into a serene place for my family and friends to enjoy. I really wish I could give these guys a better review because their inventory is impressive, but they really fell flat on follow through and customer service. We moved into a house with a completely bare front yard, with no HOA. You would think that would be a sales persons dream words. Twice we called the location to have someone come out for their complementary home assessment. Twice we got the infamous, "I'll call you right back." We decided to go in to talk to someone. Same line, no response. I was ready to spend my money anywhere but there. My husband was more forgiving than myself and wanted to give them one last chance. we called them to ask about their in home consult. I was told there was a $1000 minimum purchase for that. I told him we would call him back. After checking our finances and thinking that was doable we called back to set one up. No more than 10 minutes later another employee told us they don't do in home consults, we come in, they put our home on a computer program and they do the consult that way. (?!?) We called again the following week to try to figure out WTF was accurate because we had just received one of their fliers in the mail. Aaron answered the phone and he was the reason moon valley even gets one star. (I was told he now works at the tatum location, if you do want to spend your money here, go see HIM!) A delivery date was set, money was exchanged and I was getting the feeling I would be hearing an "I told you so!" from my husband at any minute. The day of the install they arrived and started digging and planting where they should. We purchased a boulder and not seeing it before purchasing it and not knowing the dimensions of it I wanted to be home to make sure it was being put in the right place. It wasn't on the truck with the rest of our plants. I called moon valley and spent the rest of the day trying to figure out where this rock was and when it would get to our house. My husband works during the day and is unable to talk on the phone, so I told every person I spoke with there to call my number. After every phone call, I would get a text from him saying, "they're calling me again, why are they doing this? Didn't you ask them to call you? While I'm trying to get answers to my incomplete order, the driver is asking me to sign a check list saying that everything was delivered and all my questions were answered. I finally got confirmation that my boulder would be arriving between 2-4 that afternoon. It never showed up. The next day I'm ready to tell them, don't worry about it, just credit us that amount back, it was such a hassle dealing with everyone's lack of knowledge on the subject, but I thought calling and speaking to a manager would help figure things out. I did finally get my order completed and it does look nice, but at one point the manager said to me, "well ma'am, we are trying to please EVERYONE here. (I'm not quite sure what he was trying to get at, but it felt like he was saying STFU you'll get your boulder when you get it and you can just deal with it until then.) I guess our money spent there isn't as important as other people's money? After re reading this novel of a review it comes down to this: Their inventory is good, my yard looks nice, however the customer service was so lacking and the follow through was horrendous. Its not worth the stress, get your plants somewhere else. read more

Once again I wasted my time trying to find plants at Moon Valley Nursery on 7th Street. Many of the plants were not marked and when I asked an employee what a particular plant was, he said that a customer had told him that it was a variety of sage, but he wasn't sure. I have found that every time I am there the employees are not knowledgeable. Some try to help, but they don't know anything about plants. I did find something that I wanted to buy, but I couldn't find any one to take my money. Their checkout area is not is not obvious and employees always seem to be in a meeting rather checking customers out. I have learned my lesson. I will not go back. That is too bad, I live in the area and would love to have a nursery with good stock and knowledgeable employees near by. read more
