Moon Valley Nursery installed a 10k+ Texas Ebony in my back yard. During installation on 1/31/23 they accidentally tore out underground gas and electrical lines. Moon immediately sought a contractor to repair the gas line controlling our heat. The electric was more problematic taking more than 2 weeks until a licensed electrician was brought in, instead of a fix-it guy. Five weeks later I contacted the original salesman, Joe Willis, about some concerns with the tree's transplant shock, including a slight crack in one of base trunks. He came over the next morning to check everything out. Joe described the tree's transplant conditions as normal, that the crack should heal, and offered to return in 3 months to review its progress or lack thereof. You can't ask for more prompt and agreeable service. Thanks Joe Sent from my iPhone read more

I'd give them a hundred stars if I could. The company is incredible. We purchased a few large trees for our backyard and could not be happier with the customer service at the nursery and the install was over the top awesome. Roger and his crew were phenomenal. They arrived on time and had the best "Can do" attitudes. They have to be the hardest working crew out there. It is customer service that team provided that have made us customers for life. If you want the best for your home, don't go anywhere else. You will not be disappointed! read more

Professional service and a very good planting for a good price. Purchased all my trees from here.

I have been so happy with the care and service from Moon Valley Nurseries. Alexis has made sure that everything runs smoothly and has been wonderfully accommodating with my schedule making communication a bit hard. I'm not able to answer my phone at work but I can take quick breaks to text and Alexis has been able to handle all my needs via text without issue. I'm so grateful! The technicians who have done service at my home have also been great! They're always very prompt, friendly and professional. George in particular took time to look at our other plants, that weren't installed by MVN, and offer us advice on how to keep them healthy. read more

Don Coffman oversaw the planting of a 54" box evergreen pear in my backyard. Crane and all. These guys have done this before! I lost the previous mature and beautiful evergreen pear in a storm last year. A small root ball remained but it didn't phase these guys. Would highly recommend and intend to use again if needed. From the purchase and planting schedule with Randy Howell to the crew. Tree success! read more

Purchased some Carolina cherries, agave, and boxwoods from Moon Valley. They are bit on the pricier side than others around the valley but they have easy financing which I took advantage of. They really are a superior nursery. A couple of months after everything got planted I noticed one of my agaves was dying and the cherries didn't seem healthy. Tyler sent out LP their arborist to come do a home visit and see what the issue was. LP was super knowledgeable and helpful and with no question he set me up with a replacement agave and a couple of bottles of moon juice for the cherries. Since then Tyler and LP are super responsive and helpful when I have questions (I am no plant expert). They really do provide a premium service that you don't find anywhere el Update 9/4/20 I will never buy a single plant for my house from anywhere except Moon Valley Nurseries. Here they go AGAIN coming to my rescue. I can't seem for the life of me to keep my ficus columns and carolina cherries alive, especially with how hot this AZ summer has been. I text Tyler Brand at the Tatum and Union Hills location, and with no questions asked, his team is delivering two new ones to replace these dead ones and this isn't the first time they've done this. They may be one of the pricier nurseries in the valley, but that's because they provide the best service I've ever experienced. Worth every penny. Thank you Tyler! *disclaimer: they did not solicit for this review :) read more

This place is way overpriced! found the same tree for half the cost. Shop around before you buy their expensive 50% off trees!

An update to the saga: Bill took care of replacing the plants damaged by the tree crew, and Morgan (the Director of Tree Care) stopped by and apologized in person for all of the mix-ups. Bottom line: Moon Valley has owned up to all of their missteps and provided a good remedy in those situations. However, I'm still not confident in their ability to do things right the first time. read more

Moon Valley Nursery proves me wrong. We had a big issue with our Palm trees and I didn't like the outcome. Was upset and was looking for another nursery to replace them but received a phone call from Ryan and he wanted to make it right. I am looking forward to doing more business with them and will definitely admit he is taking care of our problem and will definitely let people know to use them for all your nursery purchases. Thank you,Ryan from the Chandler location for correcting my problem. Sincerely, The Ashleys read more

Moon Valley is my go to for trees and shrubs. They are so easy to work with and their delivery crew are great! Their process is totally buttoned up so all you need to do is pick trees and they'll get you going. I literally did everything from my phone and had the palms I wanted installed in a week. read more

I want to say a big thank you to your gal, Kimberly, who works at the Tatum location. I'm still in the parking lot because I couldn't leave until I wrote this. I was at Mayo Clinic for my appointments and googled "Nurseries". Your location was right around the corner!! Thank goodness because I was tired. Then I met Kimberly. She asked how she could help me and besides a good nap, I needed someone to just tell me what to buy after I shared my thoughts and photos of the area I'm planting. Kimberly found just the right plants and flowers plus I now own "Moon Juice". I bet everyone wishes they owned Moon Juice too. lol She was patient and kind. She designed the sweetest garden mixed with perennials and annuals. Just what I wanted. She insisted on bringing them to my car and loading everything. This was a Godsend especially since I'm so weak now. My head says I can lift the pots but the body says " You're joking, aren't you?" Please pass on my thanks to Kimberly. I'll post photos once the garden is planted. Moon Valley Nursery and Kimberly, you are the bright spot in this dreary 2020! read more

Is there is a warranty on the plants that they sell? Yes. Will you have to go through ridiculous steps to convince them that they are dead and need replacing? Also yes. It does not take much to tell if a plant is dead but they think you are trying to pull some kind of scam for replacing the dead plants you have purchased under warranty. I recommend a smaller nursery, here they just do not care about their customers. Update: Have called and tried 3 times to schedule the replacing of two ocotillo for the 3rd time. They say they will look into why they have not called and then nothing. Its apparent they should be reported to the BBB and state attorney generals office for scam business practices. This is not how business is done. read more

I would like to say THANK YOU to Jason (manager) at the Tatum and Bell location for taking care of me when coming in to pick out my tree. The team that came out to plant the tree were on time, professional and did an awesome job. Very pleased with this company and I highly recommend them. I've used them several times now. Never been disappointed!! read more

Moon Valley Nurseries (Tatum location) delivered and planted a 36" box tree for me on 02/06/24. I was very pleased with the job they did. It was lightly raining during most of the job but they continued to get it done without complaint. Afterward, they did a great job of cleaning everything up to leave the area just as it was except now I have a tree. I am not going to attach a photo because the tree is dormant right now and has no leaves. I picked it out in November when it still had leaves so I could see what it looked like. It is a Red Push Pistache. I'm excited to see it after it has leaves again. It is nicely shaped so I think it will be real pretty. read more

They talk a good talk. They are expensive and extra effort at home is required just to reach a 50% survivability rate. Historically, I have had 90% survivability rates from other nursery suppliers for multiple properties. So, I have real life experience to compare. Also, after 2 sizable orders in the thousands of dollars, representing multiple large trees for each order, the deliverables ended up a bit ragged (i should have sent 50% of order 2 back, but "they" are always a month out to "fix everything". In addition, on both orders I had obvious multiple fresh broken branches due to moon's loading and unloading people. I thought just in California you overpay for "OK" or "not so OK" quality. But, i was surprised with moon's lack of overall quality, while still charging CA prices. I tried two orders to give them the benefit of the doubt. After I get my 2nd order 50% replacements put in b/c they died for "no real reason", I will be looking to find a couple of new nurseries to work with. I still have properties to landscape. read more

Don Coffman and crew. Thank you so much. Our Joshua Tree was the cherry on top! Your work is excellent and informative!!

We had 5 Palo Verde trees, an ironwood, and two night blooming cereus cacti planted. The crew was awesome. The foreman made sure we knew how to properly care for the plants before they left. read more

Way over priced and the staff has no clue. Shop at other places like Summerwinds. I'm surprised that people still shop here.

This is a review for the Moon Valley Nurseries team and planting crew out of the Tatum location. I spent a lovely afternoon last week at the site perusing the gorgeous array of small trees, looking for two perfect specimens that could go on either side of my garage and handle the heat and sun. I got solid recommendations from the team and decided on two lovely hibiscus trees with braided trunks. Don Coffman and his crew showed up today to plant them and did just a superb job all around. They also planted some new jasmine vines and relocated a tree. They did all the work in a very caring and efficient manner, ensuring we were happy with placement. Their professionalism was evident and greatly appreciated. We tapped into Don's expertise on a range of general landscape issues, and he was most gracious in sharing very helpful information. In all, I am over the moon (no pun intended!) with my new additions. A++ read more

Moon Valley has such an amazing inventory of trees and their customer service is excellent! Patrick McCoy took the time to walk us around and show us a variety of fruit trees. Update. Had to pay another landscaping company to literally stake and nail the row of ficus trees to my retainer wall. Of the original 12 only 6 survived. The others died off or uprooted and fallen under their own weight after 3 years when the original stakes rotted at the ground. Landscaper's conclusion: all the "Hollywood hedge" planted way to shallow. Moon Valley management gone silent. Installation poor, follow up and quality assurance negligible. Sure, lovely nursery to walk around but expensive. Warranty and a second year guarantee mean nothing when the plants topple over due to their own weight in 4 years. read more

Moon Valley Nurseries - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

We had a great experience today at Moon Valley Nurseries at their 8550 W. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Peoria AZ location. We went there with the intention of buying a Christmas tree. We were met by Sam, who talked to us about the option to purchase a live Christmas tree that could stay in the house during the Christmas season and then be planted outside on our property. He explained everything about the process and gave us a great deal. He then called ahead to the Moon Valley Christmas tree lot just up the street since we wanted to purchase a second tree. When we got to the lot, we were met by Doug and Matt who again, answered every question and helped us get started. Matt was amazing - he walked with us, gave us some great advice on tree care and helped us select the right tree. He then took care of absolutely everything while we drank the hot cocoa he made for us. Matt trimmed the tree, brought it out to the car, got it secured on the roof and sent us on our way back to the main location to finalize our deal. He was extremely helpful and both he and Doug made the experience enjoyable which was a huge plus. Back at the main store, Austin took over and helped us make the right arrangements to have the other tree delivered. Again, more great customer service. We got what we needed and were in and out in no time. I was extremely impressed and encouraged by the level of professionalism and customer service we received from everyone we met or dealt with at both locations. Customer service is such a huge part of a buying experience and these guys seem genuinely interested in the customers they are serving. Well done. We will definitely be back next year and during the spring/summer to address other landscaping needs. Thanks! read more

We've had such a pleasurable experience with Scottsdale Moon Valley. About a year and a half ago, we lost a very large Palo Verde during a monsoon. Last June we ventured out for a replacement, not really knowing what or where. We ended up at Moon Valley on Tatum. The knowledge of the staff when it came to questions around types of trees and yard placement was paramount to our selecting a jacaranda, which was planted this last June. Today was our second visit with the in house tree care specialist. Sheldon and Johnny took such good care of us, our tree and advice on some additional question [ we feel even more confident that we made the right choice with Moon Valley Nursery, along with our selection of tree. Having bought a landscaped home, we'd never ventured into buying an actual tree. But now, knowing what we know and where to go for the knowledge and value, Moon Valley Nursery has two very happy gardeners, grateful for their interactions with Sheldon and Johnny. Our Jacaranda is also very pleased. Brian & Don read more

Skyy and Savana were so helpful and worked to find us the perfect tree for our home! Highly recommend this location!

We are new to the area and we're unsure what to plant in our yard. Abraham was very knowledgeable and helpful. We did not feel like he was trying to make a sale, he genuinely wanted to help us. We wound up asking a lot of questions and he was patient through it all. It was an easy process to purchase a few palm trees and we are now looking forward to seeing our yard come to life. read more

After the last storm we needed to replace our tree in the back yard. From the moment I called Moon Valley and talked to Rick, I knew we had found the right place! Rick set up an appointment to pick out a tree, he was honest, knowledgable and helped us pick out the perfect tree for our spot. Excellent service! Today it was installation... again right away was met with excellent service! Don, the foreman, called to let us know he was on the way... him and his crew of four showed up, was courteous, very hard working and helpful! Don explained the tree and the best care for it, offered an extended warranty and answered patiently any questions I had! Super service, a super tree and a super thanks to everyone who made this experience outstanding! read more

I called on 12/6/21 and spoke to Leon Mackey Jr. and he was amazing. I have been in Customer service all my life and have seen the downswing in it lately and Leon was a bright star amongst all the dim lights. Leon was extremely friendly, gleeful, very informative and just a delight. I knew in my heart, I had no choice but the give Leon a GLOWING REVIEW. Parker C and Savanna were so pleasant. Helped us find our perfect tree quickly!! Thanks guys!!

Mason m and Savannah helped us pick out the most perfect Christmas tree for our first Christmas together!!

We recently moved from Chicago to Scottsdale. We didn't know much about the vegetations so we thought we would stop in to Moon valley nursery in Scottsdale. Leon, one of the associates, has to be one of the brightest stars we have come across in customer service. He is knowledgeable. He is friendly. He made suggestions without being pushy -- the guy knows his stuff. We walked around the nursery and discussed options. Leon gave us the pros and cons of some of the things that we thought would be a good idea and he guided us in the right direction. After speaking with him several times, I feel as though he is now part of our family and I'm proud to say the choices that we made together were spot on. Thank you so much Leon for guiding us in the right direction. Moon valley nursery is really the place to go. I'm pretty sure everyone there is knowledgeable but Leon is by far the best! read more

Had an awesome experience with Don and his crew at our Scottsdale home! We are currently remodeling our pool and entire backyard. The area was not completely ready for plants, but Don and his crew worked around the pool construction and installed 26 of the 28 plants we purchased from Chris. The crew will return later to install the final two plants. They worked hard and worked with us on a couple changes. The plants are big and healthy and look great where they were planted. Don also helped us with a watering schedule. We really appreciated the expertise and effort! read more

Second year in a row by a tree here. Mason and Savannah were amazing! Best quality trees ever.

I started out feeling set on a certain tree species for our backyard, but because Mars was so full of helpful information regarding pros and cons of different plant species along with budgeting factors, I ended up with a totally different one. I'm a fairly skeptical customer who's wary on getting sold something they don't really want or need. However, Mars struck me as so authentic that it felt easy to trust him. I would highly recommend Moon Valley Nurseries for their customer service and botanical knowledge--everything from using google earth to get a better idea of my planting situation to high fiving my kiddo to make the whole experience feel more personal. read more

This is an updated review. After I posted about my negative experience, that same evening, the head of customer service called me to make sure he had all the information he needed to resolve the matter.
