Chicken Soltani
Chris S.

We started with the Yogurt and Cucumber dip. It was okay. It was missing something. Basically it tasted bland, like plain yogurt. We then got our entrees. I ordered the Beef Soltani and my wife had the Chicken Soltani. Both were tasty. We both agreed the best skewer was the chicken kabob. Very moist and flavorful. The next was the beef Kabab. Also very tasty. Then the Lulehs. Chicken a bit better than the beef. The service was good, but as they were busy we allowed for some delays. There were only two people running the place. The outside seating is a nice place to relax and sip tea. All in all a good experience.

Owner of the restaurant is a really nice and generous man. My husband placed a large order to go and ended up with a couple of free items from the owner. We ordered soltani, chicken kabobs, rice and several other items. Rice was buttery and the chicken was delicious. Everything was cooked to order and very fresh. This is a great option for the price and the quality of food you get. It took about 30 ish mins for the order to be completed and it was worth the wait.

Last minute takeout order on Mother's Day for 3 shish kabob plates, a long with separate sides of ikra & hummus. I can't believe everything was ready in just 30 minutes! Reasonable prices, generous portions, and a healthy stack of lavash to go with it! Can't wait to try more items from this place!

We came in about two hours before closing. They were only doing takeout, TWO hours before closing. We ordered the chicken luleh plate for takeout, but I believe they gave me the beef. Not a big fan of eating red meat, but I was already far away. The plate was super delicious. I liked the eggplant side. Sadly, they were out of garlic sauce. Overall, tasty food, and I'd recommend if you'd like a filling meal.

Amazing service. Would recommend. The hummus was incredibly smooth and the rice was super fluffy. I will be coming back!

Food was delicious and service was great! Randomly stumbled upon this place when the usual spot we go to had an hr wait. So glad we did. Will come again.

An unassuming kebab restaurant in the land of kebabs. Moon Mart is a local hangout for many neighborhood folks. A fixture and kind of a water cooler spot to have a familiar meal. A small dining room is adorned with a an ample size patio area for additional dining space. The small kitchen may be filled with a one or two person crew thus service may be slow on weekdays. The food is also a bit low key compared to your standard restaurant affair. Nearly homestyle, flavors are clean and a tad under seasoned like the usual manner. This all makes quite an average culmination of flavors, but still very appetizing. The portions are decent. Plate sizing can be shared or taken come to enjoy again. As for kebabs sake, the quality is good. Somewhat above par and yet not great. Except for the some sides such as their fresh tzatizki sauce and hummus, which is the best I have had. The service is friendly and caring, just may be a little slow. Take away is available and certain a good choice. Pricing is also a little above average.

Thanks to Yelp for the great spot! I found this on Yelp whole searching for Persian food while in Glendale. I wanted a smaller restaurant and not having to wait for a while to be seated. Place was great. Harry was nice, food was outstanding. Plenty of parking there. I highly recommend the food and will definitely return here soon

If you're looking for a restaurant that serves generous portions, flavorful dishes, and consistently satisfying meals, this is definitely a place worth visiting. One of the things I really appreciate about Raffi's Place is the quality of the food. Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and prepared with care. The kabobs are especially good, with tender, juicy meat that's grilled perfectly and packed with flavor. The chicken kabob, beef kabob, and filet mignon are all excellent choices. The rice is fluffy, the grilled vegetables complement the meat perfectly, and the appetizers are a great way to start your meal. The hummus, shirazi salad, and other traditional sides really bring everything together. Another thing that stands out is the portion sizes. You definitely get your money's worth here, and it's not uncommon to leave with leftovers. It's a great restaurant whether you're coming with family, meeting friends, celebrating a special occasion, or simply craving a good meal. The atmosphere is another reason I enjoy this place. There's a lively, welcoming environment that makes it enjoyable to sit down, relax, and spend time with the people you're dining with. The outdoor seating area is especially nice, and the restaurant has a great balance of casual dining and a more traditional restaurant experience. The service adds to the overall experience, and the restaurant's popularity speaks for itself. It can get pretty busy, especially during peak dining hours, but that's understandable considering how well-known the restaurant is. Overall, Raffi's Place is a Glendale favorite for good reason. Between the delicious food, generous portions, inviting atmosphere, and authentic flavors, it's somewhere I'd confidently recommend to anyone who enjoys Armenian and Mediterranean cuisine. Definitely worth trying!

I was raised with koobideh, and I like to think I can differentiate between the good and the bad. I was referred to this Restaurant by a gentleman running a Persian Café nearby who had run out of koobideh for the day, so I gave it a shot. The building façade is unsuspecting, very plain and discreet. When I walked through the big double doors, I found a pristine dining room with understated ambience. I was immediately greeted at the door by attentive staff and assumed a seat at the bar. I noticed the Kashke Bademjan on the menu and gave it a chance. This is an eggplant dip that is relatively easy to mess up. But here it's absolutely delicious. Perfectly prepared. Reminded me of the stuff my grandmother used to make. In anticipation of the kebab, the server brought me pads of butter, raw, sliced onion, and sumac. These people know exactly what they're doing. I can't tell you how many times I've been to Persian restaurants where these essentials were not provided. Whereas normally, I would have to ask for these things, and often restaurants will lack these these essentials, they were brought to me here before I even asked. Very impressed. Then came the koobideh. And I was genuinely impressed. It was tender, juicy delicious, full of flavor. The saffron rice was also well prepared, and I enjoyed every bite, the entire experience. If you're looking for Premier Persian cuisine look no further. This is the place. As we say, "dastet shomah dahd nahkohn", literally translated to "don't hurt your hand", an expression of gratitude towards those who serve you and provide fantastic meals like the one I had here. Merci.

The lule kabob was raw, the beef was very tough, and the chicken was just okay. Most of the food went straight into the trash. You are welcomed with basket of pita served with accompaniment of butter, radish, raw onion and mint. I always have to resist eating too much pita cause it's so good! We always order the cornish chicken kabab and beef soltani. The chicken is marinated so well with yogurt and spices and charred to perfection. Each piece of chicken is sooo tender (yes even the breast!) If you don't know what to order get this!! It is my favorite on the menu.

Here's how I think the ones I've had stack up.... 1. Mini Kabob. Non traditional dressing but the flavor is well balanced with fresh ingredients and tender chicken thigh meat on a very good tortilla. Slightly pricier than the others but worth it. 2. Ggiata. The best of the more traditional grilled chicken wraps with crunchy croutons inside and an outstanding tortilla. Their traditional Caesar dressing on the side is very good. The Venice location tastes better than the one in Highland Park. 3. Highly Likely (Highland Park). Very good wrap but without any croutons or crunchy elements. Solid tortilla but the dressing on the side isn't as flavorful as the top two. 4. Sweetgreen (Pasadena). Best of the chain restaurants. Good but can be a bit too salty. Their Chicken Cali Club wrap is actually better balanced flavor-wise. The wrap here is smaller but still good. What brought me back more recently was their chicken Cesar wrap after reading the positive reviews. I liked the wrap though I wished it had more chicken to balance the romaine lettuce and croutons. It comes with a spicy garlic sauce on the side, but I preferred the standard garlic sauce that was also included with my order. I've consistently found one of the co-owners (who is usually at the front preparing food and interacting with customers) to be a kind presence whenever I'm picking up food, and I'm sure there will not be as long of a gap between orders in the future.
