I just recently tried a sub from Moogy's for the first time. They must have had at least a hundred delicious sounding subs, sandwiches, burgers, etc. I literally took ten minutes staring at the menu trying to figure out which item to try. I knew I would be back for more! However, after making my selection, I'm not sure if a better tasting sub could exist. I chose the Phantom Royal steak sandwich complete with cheese, onion rings, and BBQ sauce...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The atmosphere of this place is very relaxed, with plenty of room to sit. Really!? To be honest I came to Moogy's on a whim, I was actually keen to have Beef Stroganoff for dinner and was interested in finding something better where I would not need to cook. I got a couple of folks together for the almost mile walk to check out this sandwich shop I saw while on a jog. When we got into the place there was some wicked blues going through the speakers, and we were feeling quite blissful! We were in awe from the ambiance....neon, booths, tables, games, and beer! WHOOT! Did I say Games? I mean to play Connect Four whilst waiting for food is perfect after an eight hour day of work. Moogy's has a number of options for the hungry student or working professional that is relatively quick and delicious, whether you are eating in or taking out. For my first visit I went with a mouth watering Chicken Cordon Blue (Chicken Steak Sandwich with Swiss cheese, Ham, and Honey Mustard), and to be completely honest...I could not get enough. This thing I wanted to take for lunch the whole week, but I only held one in my hand. One of my mates got a Dirty Birdy (Steak Sandwich with Broccoli, Teriyaki Sauce, and Mozzarella Cheese) and thought the mix was fulfilling in every way; the other got the Dizzy Pig (3 Eggs, Ham, Bacon, Sausage, with Home Fries and Toast)because he was feeling breakfast for dinner. And we (actually by we I mean I) had a brew to wash the goods down. I would totally recommend Moogy's to anyone looking for a rustic place with good food and a friendly staff to chill for a meal. I live nearby and have tried several of the sandwiches on the menu. So far I've enjoyed everything. Curly fries and bay fries are great, and the portion size is good - I would say you get what you pay for. If you stop inside you can get dollar busch drafts and play board games while you watch the game. Staff is very friendly and the place has a welcome feel to it. Someone took some deep hits from the bong, took a nice nap and dreamed this place into existence. For a place that's main-stay is a sandwich, this joint sure has some creative selections. Seating is in large pub-style booths. A selection of board games is behind the counter to borrow, and they have beer on tap. Also, I can't fail to mention the groovy fish tank. The only reason I give them only three stars is that the foods not always that great. The sandwiches can be soggy, and the creativity of the offerings doesn't always work. Stopped by this place really quick last night because my friend was hungry. I'll have to come back some time in the future to give it a full, fair review. But from what I saw last night, I really enjoyed the place. From the outside, Moogy's does not look like much. From the inside, its a whole separate world. From the psychadelic decor, to the window you order at, to the Board Game menu, this is one of the "homiest" places I've had the pleasure of hanging out at in a long while. All of the food is "hangover"-esque eats, including all day breakfast, ENORMOUS subs, tons of different french fries and sides, and some cheap beer selections. Moogy's is popular among local college kids, and I can see why. Large TVs in the front and back so I can definitely see this place being a cool place to go watch a game. I met up with a friend who had just come back from Australia and I wanted to hear all about it so we came here. He had some kind of hoagie with chicken fingers, fried egg, bacon, and a whole mess of other stuff. Back in Jersey we call these "Fat Sandwiches" for obvious reasons. He was LOVING LIFE the whole time he was eating it and for about $8 I can see why. I wish I hadn't shortly before otherwise I would have been all over one as well. I just ordered sweet potato fries, but let me tell you they were soooo good. Usually these kind of dives just throw sweet potato fries on the menu just to add an extra item, but these were absolutely delicious. Crispy and lightly salted. I found this place after my college days and still love it . I can only imagine the joy it would have brought me during the wild times of my youth. I can't believe I didn't discover this place until recently. So. Good. It would easily be 5 stars if there had been anyone working at the bar, and then if the person who finally showed up to work at the bar learned to pour a beer. The food is amazing. You can literally get any sandwich you could ever want here. I've been twice and gotten the Phantom Royale and the Mini-Me, which were both awesome. What's not to love about BBQ sauce and onion rings on your sandwich? The service is relatively quick and the food is a good price. I've been here twice after visiting a friend at BC on two separate occasions and I must say, they have delicious breakfast sandwiches. I am always, nonstop, all-day-every-day craving a bacon, egg and cheese, so when I get to eat one I have very high hopes. Moogy's lives up the BEC I come up with in my head on my walk over there and although the line on Sunday mornings is pretty long, I think the food is worth the wait and it comes pretty quickly after you order. There's tons of seating and the vibe is very mellow so even it's an "early" morning of noon after a festive Saturday night, this is a great place to come for breakfast without the bright lights and bustle you so desperately want to avoid. read more

FOOD IS GREAT!!! I love the Monte Cristo but almost everything looks appetizing. Ambiance is fantastic. Beer selection is decent. The cool thing is they got old school board games to play with your friends as you wait for your food. Location is off the beaten path but worth the trip. Great hangover spot to recover. Pretty stinkin cheap food (daily evening specials, $5 lunch specials, breakfast all day) 2. Cheap-o beer and wine. $1 Busch light. And recently $3.50 Yuenling draft! They're not a late night spot (closed by 10ish), but are great for pre-gaming and morning hangovers. 3. Games. They have game to play, if you want. That's awesome! 4. TV! Watch what you want, no one is ever sitting at the bar. Moogies is serving the academic local crowd, and that's how they survive. Moogy's Sandwich Shop is a little bit more than your normal neighborhood sub shop. It's got personality. The menu is large mostly consisting of creatively named subs made of Shaved Steak and Chicken Steak. They have dollar Busch Drafts(shudder) and games that can be played tableside. I like going there for brunch after a night out drinking. The Rude Awakening (pancakes w/banana, blueberry, and chocolate chips) are my favorite with a side of bacon. There is one caveat though this is totally a college hangout especially at brunch on the weekends and seating can be challenging so be prepaired if school is in session. read more

The food is pretty solid and it's a good place to watch a game. The waitstaff is never very friendly and always seems annoyed that they have to get up and help us. First time at Moogy's this weekend. Things were refreshingly (and, I admit, surprisingly) non-greasy. I'd had an ubergreasy couple of eggs at Rosebud the day before which I was not feeling, so I was ambivalent about walking over here, but I was pleasantly surprised. French-fry like home fries are not usual my favorite kind, but are still fried potatoes and thus good. These were crispy with a little softness inside -- cooked just about perfectly. The wheat toast was better than at most diners I go to -- not shaped like WonderBread! And the eggs were decent. Yeah, the whites were crispy-ish, like they'd used Pam instead of oil (which I wouldn't bitch about, admittedly), but there was some goo in those over-easy egg yolks, so it was all good. I have always loved this place. The sandwiches were great and I loved that they had a 'dog water' bowl outside. My ex boyfriend loved their montecristo sandwiches or their heartattack sandwich and I loved the steak/provolone/bacon/bbq sauce or the chili/eggs burrito. They had a ton of sandwiches with quirky names like C-3PO. When this place is packed though, it's slow. I used to go when no one knew about it, but the last time I went I saw they had upscaled the joint a little. There's not much parking but I've never had a problem finding any. Love at first Bite. This place has it all from your basic eggs and toast breakfast to burgers with mayo and peanut butter on them. It is a quaint sized restaurant with a much bigger attitude. They have beer and wine selection along with other non-alcoholic drinks. The meal that truly won me over was the. "full monty", A steak, BBQ, Provolone, and bacon sub. It's a heavenly combo. I love this place! As soon as you walk in you are immediately in a very cozy atmosphere. The wooden booths and small bar make you feel very homey. The food is clearly not for those on a diet, but boy is it good. I also love the creative names for all the food. Once your order your food and your $1 pbr or your $2 dollar rolling rock you can ask for a board game to play with your friends such as chutes and ladders, sorry, candy land, etc.....
